Every Democrat's Favorite Republican

Friends, it's become more and more obvious the high esteem in which Democrats and mainstream media talking heads hold Liz Cheney, one-time Republican stalwart and current GOP turncoat and January 6th Committee luminary.  Not surprisingly, therefore, Liz is raking in the cash -- from people who hate the Republican Party and all that it stands for.  As the article below makes plain, the same people who donate big-time to the Lincoln Project, a cabal of anti-Republican Republicans, are writing checks galore to Liz Cheney.  Thus, it's only natural that real Republicans are calling for Liz to be expelled from the House Republican Conference, of which (irony of ironies!) she was the chairwoman just a few short months ago.  Boy, oh boy!  How quickly the wheel of fate can turn...

In other news, although media polls aren't unanimous, they are arriving at a consensus: Republicans are favored to win in 2022.  Given the pro-Dem bias built into so many of these polls, I'm feeling very good about our chances.  One thing is for sure: all the media's obsessive moaning about January 6th seems to be going nowhere with the American people.  The Dems themselves are more convinced than ever that Republicans are traitors and scoundrels, but unless the voters agree all this caterwauling will come to naught.

  1. Nicholas, you are right. The polls suggest that even if the election were held today, the GOP would likely win the House.

The thing is, the election is not being held today -- it's being held next November, which is a lifetime in politics.

As far as Jan. 6, over the last week we have seen a number of revelations regarding the planning of the insurrection. The more that comes out, the worse it is for Trump and Trumpsters.

    1. Rod,

I would like to apologize for my past attacks on you. I could have been way more civil. Actually, I am glad you post on this site, although I disagree with most of your opinions. But at least you are a source of opposition, which is what is needed on Nick's site. I don't expect forgiveness. I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, or Happy Holidays if you prefer. I used to remember when Democrats were more or less in the center of the political spectrum, but they are way too far Left now. Perhaps it can be said that Republicans are going too far Right. Anyway, keep posting.
      That's it. Take care.

    2. Hi Ray,

Thank you for that. Let's start over in this New Year.

      Best,

      Rod

  2. "The more that comes out, the worse it is for Trump and Trumpsters." I'd like to see proof of THAT! Are you referring to the "proof" that came out this week that conservative talking heads disapproved of the Capitol Riot? Duh. That's not really breaking news. More to the point, what makes you think that your Jan. 6th dog and pony show is having the slightest effect on public opinion? Where's the beef, Rod?

    1. Looks like a disgraced "Comrade" Palmer got five (5) years in the Gulag for his dastardly actions as a January 6, 2021 enemy of the state, and our now People's Democracy under the BidenISTA regime. I understand he wept and repented for his actions. Reminds me of Stalin's purge trials during the 1930s, without the executions of course. Other than that, the general American public probably doesn't give a shit.

  3. Dr.Waddy from Jack: I read the home page of the Lincoln Project. In part it says"tribalism and hyperpartisanship in government has led to ever uglier examples of how our political system is failng" . Political warfare in the U.S. has been the consequence of the real America's refusal to submit to the leftist assault on all our values, a left characteristically using increasingly obvious totalitarian means. What were we supposed to do? Imagine an American faction in 1942 saying "our savage assault on the Japanese fleet off Midway Island, sinking four carriers and drowning untold Japanese sailors, solely exemplifies the ugly war which defines America's failed foreign policy". Lincoln responded to the dissolution of the Union by making war on its progenitors. President Trump responded as has no post '60's President, with unapologetic hostility, the left's quixotic 50 year attempt to destroy America and replace it with many times proven leftist hellish dysfunction, murderous suppression of dissent and fundamental corruption to serve the voloptuous needs of their elite.

  4. Dr.Waddy from Jack: So what the hell are these people doing preempting the name of LINCOLN?!. The NERVE! Lincoln was the very soul of indefatigable devotion to the preservation of an America he nobly advanced, with both his and his soldiers' sacrifice, to confirm the certainty that American democracy was the last best hope of the world.

  5. Dr.Waddy from Jack: This shamefully presumptuous "Lincoln Project" would atavistically restore the Rino to credibility in the GOP. Rinos have proven themselves to be cringing, rationalizing, advocates of compromise and respect for a purely expeditious leftist conquered Dem party which bears them only withering contempt. President Trump and Trumpists (an honorable majority) have shown them the door. Lincoln was a conciliator but never from weakness and compromise with that which he knew to be inimical to American values! That pore ' ol Liz is embraced by these people makes her exemplary of them and I trust that down to earth Wyoming citizens will show their disdain for outside forces invading their polity, by exiling her!

  6. Dr.Waddy from Jack: We all know the left is captured and defined by its emotional side. The increasingly promising prospect of their deserved defeat in 2022 at least ,raises delicious possibilities of their frantic descent into panic stricken reassertion of their core arguments: : eg. "certainly human caused climate change necessitates first: abject apology to surely benevolent Mother Earth for the insolent disrespect we have rendered her; second but not least: VERY affirmative action to 'fundamentally transform 'all human institutions in recompense thereof and to destroy all insolent resistance on earth. And that is just for starters, yes indeed!"

  7. Dr.Waddy from Jack: Sorry President Reagan; as a post '60's President you did a famous part in destroying the very fount of world Communism. In doing so you showed up the American left for the atavistic and malicious dreamers they are; despised by any who have experienced the curse of Marxism ( except of course by ingrate George Soros).Your cherished example in doing that inspires us to this day to stand up to that left which persists in perverse intent to destroy America from within.

  8. Ray, I never have much sympathy for anyone who breaks the law, but whether equal justice is being meted out re: January 6th is highly questionable. My hope would be that the judiciary would look with fresh eyes at these sentences after Nov. 2022, when the political usefulness of the "insurrection" will have completely evaporated.

I agree, Jack: the Left laments the decline of decorum and civility in our political culture, and they are every bit as guilty of causing it as we are.

Re: Liz, I have not the slightest doubt that her political career in Wyoming will soon be over, but I would not be in the least surprised if she ran for president in 2024...and I encourage her to do it! Let the Trump haters divide their votes and their loyalties. So much the better!

  9. Nick, you may be underestimating Liz Cheney. Though there are a lot of Trumpsters in WY, there are a lot of folks who support Cheney. Plus, WY has a Western Libertarian streak and its residents don't like being told what to do.

So, it would not be a surprise to see Cheney pull out the nomination. She could also run as an independent or as a write-in. That could split the vote enough for a Dem to squeak in.

I think when all is said and done, Liz is back in her House seat.

  10. Dr.Warry from Jack: Any heartland state resentful of outside influence on the process of the selection of its Congressional representatives would be loath to support a counterintuitive devotee of surrender to NY style radicals!

  11. Rod, I would not be surprised to see Cheney run as an independent once she loses the GOP nomination, but I'm pretty sure she'll lose. Your faith in her is touching, though. Do I smell a wager?

  12. Nick, I have no love for Liz Cheney. She threw her own sister under the bus for political purposes. What I am saying (when I was living in SD, I often visited WY) is that folks in WY, MT, ID don't like being told what to do. They also respect people who stand up for their principles, even if they don't agree. Cheney may very well lose the nomination, though part of that will depend on what the Jan. 6 committee turns up. If the information weakens Trump, that will make his endorsement less influential, making a Cheney independent bid stronger.

It would be interesting to watch a 3-way battle where Cheney and the MAGA candidate split the conservative vote, and a Dem sneaks in.

  13. Rod, I can tell you now what the January 6th Committee will "turn up": lots of phony bombshells in which the commitee members clutch their pearls over how scared they were on that fateful day, and how DJT didn't do nearly enough to save them from the white supremacist rabble, but ZERO evidence that any "insurrection" was planned or anticipated at the highest levels. In other words, when the committee is done with its work, we'll all think exactly what we thought before about January 6th. Take that to the bank.

A three-way race is possible in Wyoming, yes, but in my view that would only make it easier for the Republican to win. Basically, there's a Trump vote and an anti-Trump vote. Wanna know which faction is more numerous in Wyoming? Check the 2020 election returns. Case closed.

  14. Wow! A "Kumbaya" moment between Rod and Ray! If this keeps up, we may have to tell you two to "Get a room!" Ha ha. Seriously, I'm glad to see some decorum between us. It's in devilishly short supply these days!
