The Barbarians Are At The Gates

Oh yes, those wild-eyed barbarians are threatening to topple civilization once again, as is their wont, but it's their identity that might surprise you: why, it's YOU, dear Trumper, who's the problem -- who's hammering the final nail into democracy's coffin, in fact!  That's the narrative that's being pushed day in and day out on CNN and MSNBC: vicious, mentally deranged Trumpers are constantly conspiring to overthrow our Republic, trampling underfoot all that's good, decent, and true.  That's why we need to get to the bottom of what really happened on January 6th, of course.  We need to expose how Donald Trump, Steve Bannon, Tucker Carlson, and Mike Lindell formed a secret, traitorous cabal, which hatched a sinister plan to beat every member of Congress to death with rolled up posterboard.  And that was just "Phase One"!!!

The sheer absurdity of the "insurrection" hoax, and its political uses, are one of our main topics on this week's Newsmaker Show.  Brian and I also cover the decline and fall of ISIS, the prospects for a January 6th special prosecutor, the Dems' pathological addiction to runaway government spending, Trump's bold new initiative to create a social media empire, and the growing rift between Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

When we turn to history, Brian and I discuss the legacy of Theodore Roosevelt (who wasn't always "conservative" in the modern sense), the complex maneuvers that ended the Cuban Missile Crisis, the expansion of the U.S. prison population in the 1980s and 90s (and how it successfully brought violent crime under control), and the slow demise of the American-made, gasoline-powered sedan.

What a lineup!

Here's the article I referenced in the interview about the growing rift between Biden and Harris.  There's trouble brewing in the workers' paradise, folks!

And here are the latest polls in the all-important race for Governor in the Commonwealth of Virginia.  Virginia is a blue state, so the competitiveness of the GOP candidate is very good news.  A win, of course, would be better news.

And check out this shocking poll.  If you read between the lines, and these days you need to develop that ability, a majority of Americans now have doubts about the legitimacy and accuracy of the 2020 election results, as they should!!!  Democrats remain confident about our election infrastructure in 2022 (despite rampant "voter suppression"), but I have a feeling their attitude might change once they lose!

  1. Instead of discussing history, why don't you and Brian make fudge and share some recipes? You could make different colors of fudge as a way of teaching CRT to kids in pre-School. How about it Nick? Just joking.

  2. Dr.Waddy from Jack: OK, third try. Dysfunction seems to be enjoying an "All Hallows Eve" of comment erasing! Re: your broadcast: We should assume, since it has been demonstrated ad nauseum, that upon passage, the nominal purpose of any Dem supported spending measure, having fulfilled its only purpose, is summarily vacated in favor of leftist fiat.

  3. Dr.Waddy from Jack: I hope you are right in saying that the Dems see unlimited spending as the key to success in 2022. The effort alone, which will be much wasted due to the courageous stand of Mancin and Sinema, may well itself sink the Dems in 2022, since the real America, which thought such treachery impossible in Americans, FINALLY, both in perception and resolve, has caught on. The Dems foolishly and rashly thought their razor thin Congressional margin was a "go ahead" for the main push. "5 trillion this time, ?? times that next time. De nada! Nobody comprehends such astronomical amounts. Eventually we will mortgage the earth itself, all 66 sextillion tons of it! Then the moon and Mars. And that's just for openers. We WILL achieve perfect justice!"

  4. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Watergate, yeah, lived thru it. Oh yeah, Iran Contra was a futile Dem try for an encore. How about 1998 and Slick Willy's crimes?Does a yetPresidential deposing burglary stand equal in evil to sex crimes? Huh lefties? C'mon now, I know you celebrate many measures of crime but that is beyond your pale right? Oh ok,the wronged in 1998 were those who would " chase a $100 bill dragged through a trailer park" yes? Oh I see. Anyway, why don't you grow up; it isn't '74 anymore, as I know you know!

  5. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Hooray for President Trump and his new social media platform We know what hob Rush raised when he challenged the broadcast media and President Trump is just the guy to do it to the left again. Oh I hope the inevitable leftist onslaught is lead byPhil Donahue. His ludicrous comeback try was high comedy. Eh, but maybe the social media junta will find a spokesman equally obnoxiously self righteous!

  6. Ray, the problem with Americans is that they already get TOO MUCH fudge. Nice try, though.

Jack, I generally assume that the ONLY purpose of Dem-supported spending bills is to reelect Democrats. It certainly isn't to enhance human welfare!

Will the Dems pay a price for endorsing runaway spending? I doubt it. I can't think of any time in American history when a politician has been punsihed for spending too much... They will be pubished, however, for a sagging economy and high inflation. The truth, though, is that so far the market doesn't seem that concerned by the irresponsible spending of the federal government. In fact, the market seems to enjoy the stimulating effects. The gravy train has to end someday, though. I just don't know if it will be this year, or next year, or in 2033, or 2057... That's a math problem. mainly, and I don't do math.

The fixation on Watergate is hard to credit, I agree, and the faith placed in Congressional committees and their pearl-clutching is simply laughable.
