Adios, friends! I'm off to Beantown for a few days -- think of it as "opposition research". I won't be active on the blog meanwhile, but I should have some great photos to share when I return on Monday.

ReplyDeleteHa ha. I didn't even make it to Bunker Hill. I had enough on my plate just seeing the main sights of Boston proper. New England is rich with Americana, though. Clearly I need to go back.
ReplyDeleteDr. Waddy from Jack: Been a long time since I've been to Boston but I've read several impressive accounts of Bunker Hill and I do want to see the site, though I know it is surrounded by city. Its a terrifically moving event, for the valor and devotion to duty of both sides. General Howe personally led some of those charges against murderous fire. Howard Pyle painted a very impressive picture of those once repulsed Brits hoofing it back up Breed's Hill. And the nerve it took to face those redcoats. Amazing!
