Big Brother Is Watching

Friends, imagine a world in which the federal government coordinates the suppression of online speech it doesn't like, outsourcing this violation of the people's rights to private companies, which are then rewarded with federal contracts once the "right people" win in "free elections"...  Scary, huh?  This isn't science fiction, though.  It's honest reporting on what happened in 2020, and what continues to happen today, in the dystopian Age of Biden.  Read on, and prepare to have your blood curdled!

One of my conservative pals wrote this fine article, which documents the decline of free speech on college campuses, and the steps that college administrators could take if they were interested in fixing the problem.  Unfortunately, they're not interested, and so the questions that inevitably arise are: can they be forced to care and to protect our First Amendment rights, against their inclinations, and, two, if they stubbornly refuse to tolerate dissent, how much longer will decent Americans continue sending these corrupt, Orwellian reeducation camps yearly donations, and, more importantly, how much longer will they keep sending their sons and daughters (and children of other, miscellaneous genders) to these so-called educational institutions to be brainwashed?  Those are the questions.  I wish I had answers.

  1. Dr.Wadry from Jack: The reflexive derogation and kneejerk iconoclasm routinely displayed by leftists to any expression or action contradictory to their beliefs strongly suggests conditioning. They have been persuaded to regard all conservative thought or action wrong headed and reprehensible. They have had great success with this; it may explain their ability to enforce terribly counterintuitive policies. I think we should learn from this. The left knows we hesitate to stereotype it. I think we should adopt sweeping stereotypes about the left and stop wasting time giving them benefit of doubt. We can , I think, benefit from making the following assumptions about the left: they mean to extirpate American morals, laws , convictions and its civilization as a whole and forcefully replace it with comprehensive neoMarxist totalitarianism; they regard any method of achieving this end to be by definition justified. We should assume that they extol complete control of expression and practice it wherever they can seize the power to do. so.Any denial of this is utterly disingenuous on their part; we must assume that anything they say or do touching on expression has this purpose. I assume it and any revelation of it , as in your cited article ,does not surprise me. There are many more assumptions we should make about them if we mean to defeat them in their long settled resolve to destroy us. They have shown the way in empowering terms with automatic, self evident destructive power. Let us also use this practice without well meant restraint.

  2. Dr.Waddy from Jack: We should keep our message simple and presumptuous. Eg. We must cause the name of the "democratic" party to become an automatic pejorative and personal discreditation because of its obvious alliance with the American hard left.Naturally we cannot engage in the criminal, career destroying or defaming of character which the left practices with blithe abandon. But constant reminder, using the same terms consistently (eg anti American), considering the obviously destructive policies openly championed by the left, can establish them as automatic givens and afford us the power the left derives from relentless use of terms such as the myriad "isms" casually coined and weaponized by these dissemblers.

  3. Dr..Waddy from Jack: When they attempt to destroy us with calumny let us become nemesis to them, using their so arrogantly pushed dysfunctional outrages to emphasize their dysfunction .Some of us ( President Trump, Fox News , broadcast comnmentators aplenty!) are doing this but we must double down and invade leftist sanctuaries and destroy their premption of otherwise value free terms like political correctness. We have made that term symbolic of left wing granny glassed, antiintellectual, vacuous posturing! Without apology to the left let us publicly denounce self righteous leftist dreck and when we have them on the canvas, let us KEEP them there!

  4. Jack, that's an intriguing analysis. Does the Left DESERVE the benefit of the doubt, as you put it? Almost certainly not. And yet...I wonder what would happen if we were to show the Left the same contempt they show us. I think there's a danger that the MSM would use this, uh, candor on our part to spin us (as per usual) into "extremists". Maybe, then, our rationality and forbearance is an affectation that serves us well? Maybe.

That's a good point that the term "democratic" is frequently abused, and has often been appropriated by leftist maniacs and mass-murderers. Could we turn it into a pejorative? That could be tough. Perhaps we could do to the term "progressive" what we once did to the term "liberal". That would be a start.

  5. Dr. Waddy from Jack: The term " a progressive" already has earned some degree of opprobrium ;lets keep that trend going.Alinsky advised radicals to make extensive use of ridicule in discrediting opponents.Much scorn can be conveyed by the use of derisive tones of voice alone. Some critics of this will be intimidated by it and many who do complain will appear to be petty crybabies. The left thinks as do criminals: any accomodation is interpreted as weakness and fosters an overall image (and a stereotype long since adopted by the left as a working principle) of cringing apology which morally justifies contempt and bad usage. To the left we have some huff but no puff. We need hard driving hombres like Trump, DeSantis and,Dan Bongino who glory in the antipathy of leftists. The abject fear of Trump demonstrated by the left confirms their dread of those who know them for the totalitarian thugs they are and are unafraid of them.

  6. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Another article noted the viciously cynical leftist transformation of the term "family values" to one to be sneered at. Let us work similar destruction on the term "equity". They adopted it because it is subjective; it can mean anything. It can be "felt" ,as is required by the touchy feelies. Let us take advantage of its flexibility and impart this meaning to the term "equity":" retribution for past injustice worked today even on those not responsible".

  7. Hear hear, Jack! "Equity" is the latest dragon we must slay. It sounds so benign, but, in the hands of the Left, it's anything but. They're counting on the notion that the American people simply can't keep up with their verbal evasive maneuvers. Sadly, they may be right.

It's an interesting question what the American people understand by the term "progressive". My guess would be that a lot of them haven't the slightest idea what it means. Frankly, I think at this stage it's mostly a leftist affectation. Another point: seems like increasingly the modern Left is commandeering the term "democracy" (not for the first time), and we certainly can't allow them to hold that ground.

Here's some data, but rather out of date: https://news.gallup.com/poll/141218/americans-unsure-progressive-political-label.aspx

  8. Dr. Waddy from Jack: I predicted a few years ago that the left" would "fundamentally transform" from demanding equality to demanding "equity". Equality having been achieved in many settings, the term "equality" has lost much of its power as a grievance.Too. it can sometimes be measured empirically and that is a hazard for the emotion based left. But equity is endlessly subjective and offers unlimited possibilities for declarations of injustice and for putatively remedial action. It can be a powerful tool in advancing permanent totaltarianism due to its, ehh, "flexibility".

  9. Jack, I personally don't see the difference: aren't "equality" and "equity"...equally vague? I think the appeal of "equity" is its novelty as a political term, which means the Left can make of it what it wishes.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Dr. Waddy from Jack: That is a good point about the novelty of the word equity lending it much utility. I do not think the left seeks the justice which equity implies though. It seeks unassailable power alone which it would use in an arbitrary and incidental manner in those settings it wishes to. If the novelty of the word "equity" affords it power then the purely expeditious left will use it.

  11. Oh, for sure! "Justice" isn't what they're after. Justice implies a standard outside of the, uh, observer. For the lefties, "equity" is defined by their own state of mind. It might advance opportunistic standards and metrics here and there, but they can be altered on a whim if the Left feels it necessary. Indeed, the only reason the Left can abide written law in general is because they excel in reimagining and redefining it organically, based on their (sacred) prejudices.
