President Pelosi??? Just When You Thought Things Couldn't Get Any Worse

Friends, President Trump painted a sobering picture on the first night of the RNC: of a Democratic Party determined to win in 2020 at all costs, and willing to play fast and loose with electoral norms and democratic values to do so.  Check out this article, which forecasts some of the confusion and gamesmanship that could follow in the days and weeks after Election Day, November 3rd.

While it's not especially likely that the electoral college will be stymied as late as January 20th, 2021, and thus Nancy Pelosi might make a play for the Oval Office, let's be honest: stranger things have happened!

Now, couple that analysis you just read with recent statements from Hillary Clinton:

Don't concede under ANY circumstances?  What does that tell you?  It suggests to me that the Dems are playing a long game.  They don't expect to win on election night.  They expect the counting to go on and on...and they expect that protracted struggle to work to their advantage.  They expect innumerable court challenges, and presumably they expect to win many of them, perhaps because they assume that even many "Republican" judges will jump at the chance to rid the country of President Trump.  In all these assumptions they may be correct.

Bottom line: it will take extraordinary vigilance on our part, as conservatives and as patriots, to ensure that the Dems don't game the system in 2020.  We also have to face the reality that there's a good chance that the election won't produce a CLEAR, undisputed winner...and then what?  The Left and the media will try to bully Trump out of office, under those conditions.  Undoubtedly street violence will be part of their playbook.  How will Trump respond?  How should Trump respond?  I know many of you will eagerly reply, "Declare martial law!  Arrest the troublemakers!"  Realistically, though, we have to anticipate that any effort by President Trump to enforce public order, in the wake of a disputed election, will be seen by the Left -- and its journalistic acolytes -- as fascism run amok.  In any case, we need to start imaging the various horrific turns this election season could take, and we need to prepare to safeguard whatever tatters of democracy are left to us after November 3rd.

  1. Ok, you can stop spying on the Conley household-tell your minions to go home (lol and grin). We have had the same discussion about this, scary thought. Can it happen? It's a long shot, but yes, Pelosi could. And something tells me, she and the dems will stop at nothing to make this happen.

  2. The only thing to do in this case of to implement fascism. After all, this is what the right is called by the left anyway, so act the part and implement fascism.

And the authority for this is in the Lincoln Memorial where "Lincoln's Chair" is decorated with fasces. So there is some authority for this don't you think? Let "fascism run amok" since we conservatives are always accused of this anyway.

  3. We can say with total conviction that our Constitutional Republic is now hanging by a thread, can't we? No matter what, Trump is still President until January 2021, isn't he?

  4. My guess is, that The Supreme Court of The United States will end up deciding who the winner is. Remember Gore vs Bush? But you know, Gore might have made an acceptable president. He was not really nutty then like he has become. But even now he might pass for a conservative compared to some of the fools we have today, left and right.

  5. What tends to be so very ironic about all of this, is that The Left doesn't really like or trust Joe Biden, but picked him over Bernie, so to speak. A prominent Left publisher, Verso Books, offers "Yesterday's Man: The Case Against Joe Biden" by Branko Marcetic. That's a good indicator that Joe is not their best choice. My personal opinion is that Joe is a front man and a puppet for the Obamas. I have said this before, and I will say it again and again: The Obamas (Code Name Black Mambas), are power addicts, like The Clintons, but far more so. They are determined to get back in The White House no matter what. If a guy like Joe were not associated with the Obamas (as VP) I doubt he would have run for president in the first place. He's a long time political hack with no real glitter.

  6. Dr.Waddy et al: In a degraded sense , this election bids fair to be fascinating! But of course so very much of decisive import is at stake. That the American Taliban left will employ " any means necessary" is a given and it necessitates our adoption of that principle now! Does the President seek to counter the guaranteed misuse of mail in ballots by the far left? If he does, I applaud him. And the public far left's squeaking about it? Pish tosh!

  7. Linda, fear not -- the WaddyIsRight "Global/Universal Surveillance System" (I call it GUSS, for short) is only monitoring your household conversations for your personal protection. We would NEVER use the veritable mountain of compromising information we have on you in an unethical fashion... Never never never. :)

President Biden is still a much greater likelihood than President Pelosi...although I suppose any senile placeholder will do.

Ray, I doubt Trump would ever implement "fascism" in the fullest sense, but he might well use federal law enforcement powers, or even federal troops, to enforce law and order, in the last instance. What choice would he have? Ultimately, force always prevails, unless and until it is matched by equal or greater force. If the Left takes over the streets, then the good guys will need to take them back, sooner or later. Now, whether Trump would ever act against an actively seditious mass media is an equally interesting question... That would be a little closer to "fascism", obviously.

Ray is right that the Supreme Court is very likely to have the last word in 2020 -- or, I should say, is very likely to WANT the last word. If it declares either Trump or Biden the "winner", will the half of the country thus "betrayed" accept the outcome? Will one word from our black-robed judicial masters really be enough to quiet the agony of tens of millions of hardcore leftists, or rightists, as the case may be? So far America has always deferred to the wisdom of the court. I have my doubts about whether this will always be the case.

True, Ray -- the Left has no real affection for Sleepy Joe. That's why the selection of his running mate was such a weighty affair. Kamala Harris could easily become President, when and if the Left decides Joe is a spent force. Now, who might Harris choose as HER Vice-President??? Now, there's an intriguing question.

Jack, Trump talks a good game about mail-in ballots, but he can't really prevent their widespread use. And when those ballots roll into boards of elections, and are duly counted (regardless of who filled them out), will Trump be able to nullify them? Not so easy, especially after the fact. The Dems aren't stupid: they're putting their faith in mail-in voting because they know it gives them a palpable advantage. Their hope is that they can build up such a big margin over Trump that he'll have no choice but to concede. And if some of that margin is "fake", well, that would be a means to an end, wouldn't it?

  8. Dr.Waddy from Jack: Point well taken.

  9. Dr.Waddy from Jack: If he saw a chance to steal the election he could just do what gore did, withdraw his concession. I suppose it's not legally binding. What is highly likely, I agree,is that the dems have already decided to try to steal the election if necessary. Being captured by their emotions, they know that defeat would unendurable. What can we do? A physical presence at polling places in contested states, expressing determination to act lawfully against any attempted American Taliban intimidation of voters, would be desirable.

  10. Ah, Jack -- now that could get dicey! You're right, though. The election could get contentious long before most votes are cast. One wonders what BLM and Antifa have planned for election season... Nothing warm and fuzzy, I'm sure. The GOP will need to formulate a response. I'd say that a forceful Republican presence at polling places would be as likely to backfire as to achieve any positive results. A strong police presence, though, might deter the crazies from interfering with our voters. Plus, anything that binds the GOP to law enforcement, and the Dems to hooliganism, is all to the good!

  11. Dr.Waddy from Jack: You are right; it would be hazardous for us to physically protect critical voting sites. To have the best chance of success we would need to emulate the nonviolent tactics of the late '50's and early '60's civil Rights movement. But that takes discipline and trained leadership and there may not be time for that. We must of course support the police who in common sense places might well be deployed on election day. I mean, those places where mayors and governors would be most likely to deem a police presence a suppression of voting are probably lost anyway. (It's a hard thing to know that your presidential vote counts for nothing, in occupied states like NY and CA). It's the swing states where it matters and where far leftist voters intimidation is to be expected.

  12. True, Jack -- voting hardly matters in states like NY. Our electoral votes might as well be cast in advance by Cuomo himself. The swing states are where the battle will be joined.

Now, you're right that the civil rights movement was very successful in using mostly non-violent tactics to achieve real change. There's several big distinctions between them and us, however. For one, they got off their duffs and protested! Few conservatives can apparently be bothered to do that. The other big difference is that they enjoyed the sympathy of the media, whereas we will always be undermined by the press at every turn. We could organize a protest, for instance, and the story would be about how we weren't far enough apart, or how one of us said a bad word, or how too many of us were white men... I could go on, but you get the drift.

  13. Dr. Waddy from Jack: You have made many plausible points above. I think the MSM during the classic civil rights campaign portrayed it (at least up north where I lived) as a heroic effort to overcome perceived Southern intransigence, both in Congress and in public. Northerners readily supported it because they saw it as just , saw Southerners as primitives and saw themselves as not directly effected by it. Consequential federal legislation changed that but the heroic and generous means employed by Dr. King had brought an enhanced awareness of very understandable black concerns to the attention of a majority of Americans. He and his avatars had employed a really very decent means of gentle persuasion for which,in the MSM of that day, there was little leftist cynicism.t But that does take time and we probably don't have that now. There are one hundred and one possible outcomes for this election. It's close to 1860. We may just have to wait and react, since the left will undoubtably provide us much to react to. Maintaining a mobile and flexible reserve is an old battle tactic and in this near civil war we would be wise to ready it. How? Some kind of central command, ready to apply decision making influence where needed. The President? Perhaps. A forceful recognition that the left is in full and open rebellion may be required of him and I trust he has the guts to enforce it. This would be no atavistic defense of a corrupt and doomed Ancien Regime. It would be a completely creditable defense of a legitimate, democratic polity against an historically proven sociopathic ,voracious and presumptous perversion of the European Enlightenment worked by human worker ants captured in their beyond tragic naivete and ignorance by the most deceptive and misbegotten doctrine in all history.

  14. Dr.Waddy from Jack: I know that you recognize that most real Americans are very busy leading positive lives whereas the rootless "students", thugs, opportunistic low life's , professional dissemblers and yes ,some of good intent ,who man the present insurrection are a far more ,ehh, frivolous
lot. In any effort the real America directs against their totally destructive intent (attended by the latter with ignorance or arrogant disregard for the historically verifiable catastrophic consequences of their airy presumptions) it must be motivated by prospects of the total (totalitarians, yes?) destruction of all that it is valued in our culture(religion, democracy, criminal responsibility, financial rectitude, proven moral certainties, positive life styles etc.).

  15. Yes, Jack -- it made a world of difference that the media sympathized with the civil rights movement. Had they not, the results would have been far less impressive, and, I daresay, the tactics men like King used would have had to change. Reality is constructed, let's not forget. The gentlemen of the press, for as long as we can remember, have been telling us what mattered and what didn't. That was true in the 40s, 50s, and 60s no less than today.

True, we'll need to keep our powder dry and wait and see what the Left has in store for us in November. Much depends on the numbers. Trump MIGHT win convincingly enough that the Left will falter, but I doubt it. If he's not making contingency plans, he ought to be. Speaking of contingency plans, I wonder what's going through Justice Roberts' head right now!
