Friends, in a sign that opponents of transgender ideology and "gender-affirming care" for minors temporarily enjoy the upper hand in terms of public opinion, leftist stalwart and presidential hopeful California Governor Gavin Newsom has vetoed a bill that would require a parent's "affirmation" of their child's "gender identity" to be part of custody considerations. Wow! I would expect California to execute summarily any parent that didn't dance a jig at the news that their child wanted to get his/her/its genitals removed. Why, though, do I, uhh, affirm that this victory might be illusory and temporary? Read the A.P. story below on the declining availability in red states of "gender-affirming care". It's the furthest thing from objective news reporting you could imagine. Our progressive elite is "all in" for transgenderism, and they tend to get their way, don't they? Maybe not today, and maybe not tomorrow, but, if they want your child's genitals on a silver platter, I predict they'll get 'em!

Finally, file this one under: "Duh!" Democrats and progressives are increasingly non-religious, or, as they prefer to call it, "spiritual". Religious identification and belief has become one of the biggest fault lines in American politics and American life, as a matter of fact.
Dr. Waddy from Jack: Newsom: "see, see, I can do 'moderate' ! Vote for me with a clear conscience when the chance comes, which it will." Pure Br'er Rabbit! I fully expect the left to initiate support for mandatory "affirmative action" in order to artificially establish approved numbers of each converted gender.After all the left already arrogates its wisdom as superior to that of parents, so. . . . And of course there will be a" protected" one and a, eh, "subordinate"one, yes? Guess which will be which. Hint from Hillary: "the future is female". Just imagine how hilarious a book of similar Hillary expostulations would be: "vast right wing conspiracy, it takes a village, basket of deplorables, I accept YOUR nom ii naSHUN! , I do, I do solemnly swear . . ." Etc.
ReplyDeleteDr. Waddy from Jack: A recent mass baptism at Auburn University (!!) generated an impassioned demand that a certain offended group's"right" to "freedom from religion" and from "ickiness" no doubt, which the group "feels" was savaged by this abominable ceremony, be affirmed by condemnation and permanent banning of such insolent outrage. That Auburn is state supported is simply a pretext: they would have recoiled from it no matter its setting. Imagine how they would have reacted had they been in the army a Chinese warlord baptised with a fire hose! Anyway this is exemplary of the antiAmerican left's characteristically totalitarian determination to not only refrain from religion but also, by golly (not by God) ,to SEE TO IT that everyone else does! ReplyDeleteJack, I hope God makes a comeback in our schools too, but it seems to me that the modern Left is proving far more successful than the Polish communists were in fostering secularism and atheism. Many of our churches are dying of neglect, you might say. Younger generations are vaguely aware that this "God" character may or may not exist, but they aren't greatly bothered either way, and they certainly aren't building their lives around Him.
Dr. Waddy from Jack: "There are no atheists on the battlefield" is a an often affirmed cliche ( except in communist armies we are led to believe). A Chaplain at a prison I worked at said" these people need to have the fear of God put in them" Actually, alot of the law abiding would benefit from such a shock. I wish HE would send a sign, obviously from HIM, invoking a terror equal to that of battle without the actual destruction of war.
ReplyDeleteJack, the best incentive for godliness ever invented (by God, needless to say) is death itself...which we lowly humans are busily obfuscating and pretending doesn't exist. One wonders what the typical secular leftist makes of mortality. Do they really lay back on their deathbed and think to themselves, "Well, at least my carbon footprint was small, and I sure did donate a lot to the DNC..." Ick!
