Judgement Day? Psh! Not Likely

Friends, it now appears that the DOJ will indict Hunter Biden for...something.  That doesn't entirely obviate the possibility that a future plea deal will let him off the hook, but it does suggest that Hunter will face criminal proceedings around the same time that Donald Trump is slammed by multiple trials in early 2024.  Gee, color me shocked!  The same justice system that seeks to OBLITERATE a former president for having the temerity to exercise his right of free speech is also, to its IMMEASURABLE credit, willing to try a guy for tax and weapons violations, and maybe even for failing to register as a foreign agent.  The logic is pretty straightforward, it seems to me: the prosecution of Hunter Biden will make the DOJ look like it pursues the privileged and powerful based on the principles of blind justice -- and therefore the multiple prosecutions of DJT will have enhanced credibility.  Only a fool would be taken in by this tortured logic, mind you, but elections have been waged and won based on less creditable schemes before.  Plus, the beauty of United States vs. Hunter Biden is that everyone, including Hunter, knows that the outcome of the trial doesn't matter, because, assuming his Dad wins reelection, he'll never face any form of punishment regardless.  One day after the election is over, Joe Biden can and will pardon his son.  Count on it.

How did the U.S. budget deficit double in the last year?  That depends on who you ask: Democrats or Republicans.  Here are two competing analyses.  My take: both are deeply flawed, because they barely mention entitlements, the biggest driver of government expenditures.

Was that a paraphrase of "Uncle Remus" I just saw on that comment? Shades of Joel Chandler Harris? Definitely VERBOTEN BY DEI standards. I'm reporting you to the FBI (Federal Bureau of Inclusion) immediately.

  2. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Now now Dr. Waddy. Don't you know that we, that portion of the boomers who drank the far left koolaid in the '60s and proceeded to do our best to sneer at prosperity and destroy America- well, we've finally gotten tired of it all and we want to sit back and chill. So don't you recklessly attack our entitlements, that's (gasp) unamerican!

  3. Dr. Waddy from Jack: And you know what dirt we can do when we get riled; we almost sank this country since our 60's salad days and we may yet do it.

  4. Ray from Jack: Aieee!: Do not so. I bitterly recant me of my evil and throw my fate upon the judgement
of the ever merciful Inquisition. Joel Chandler Harris? Why he is of the 19th century and this is the16th. Is he heretic also? Then I defy him!. (Actually I think Br'er Rabbit reposes in honor in the antiamerican left's pantheon of heroes of disingenuousness. But in public they would denounce him.)

No excuses! You have been scheduled for incarceration in a Siberian Gulag for 20 years, for crimes against the state. Lucky for you that the People's Committee on Justice and State Security did not schedule you for liquidation. Sorry, but you deadline for recanting has expired. Pack a bag of warmest clothing and some food for the train trip to the Gulag.

  5. Ray from Jack: It is far.more convenient for the "fundamentally transformed" FBI to retain that acronym than to arrogate "FBDIE". Then again that does have appeal.

  6. Dr. Waddyfrom Jack: We leftie boomers (the dutiful boomers don't count); we'll sic the Stones on ya if you touch OUR entitlements. You have to know they are immortal, especially Keith Richard; why he looks like he passed 10 years ago! By the way, the Stones are older than Joe so get off his case! We like Joe, yes we do!

  7. Ray from Jack: I dunno, with the weather we've been having Siberia might be pretty nice. And I'm done for on climate; this may well be the warmest summer in (gasp) over ONE DANGED HUNDRED years! That's a definitive conclusion from which irrefutable logic compels us to admit complete and malicious human responsibility which justifies summary, draconian comprehensive transformation of civilization. I mean, cockroaches can't talk or write so they can't work heretic doubt by telling us of their experience of similar heating ,eons ago, now and again. That would reflect with unendurable objectivity on the antiamerican left's view that humanity, unforgiveably technologically advanced as it is, has been the good Earth's greatest curse!

  8. You jest, Jack, but the DOJ is the Department of JUSTICE, after all, and its perceptions of justice don't seem to change much, regardless of who the president is. And why should they? Until we find a way of purging the DOJ of Dem hacks, we'll get what's coming to us...

I know, Jack -- even to question our limitless commitment to funding entitlements is the political third rail. In my defense, I can only plead...MATH!

Ray, you don't know this about Jack, but he once lived without electricity for eight years! He's thus in a much better position to survive the Alaskan gulag than I am. In fact, I expect to freeze to death in the first 24 hours. After I go, Jack, you have my permission to dine on loin of Nick.

  9. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Why, it used to get down to 45 (!) in our cabin so the Gulag would be eminently enjoyable. Of course the gulag in our land would be in the SW and I can't take the heat. If we went total marxist we would certainly have an utterly dysfunctional economy and that might well destroy the market for Chinese manufactures in the erstwhile US. Could that motivate China to redeem us? Could they? Dear Leader AOC would have to do homage and make us a fief of the Chinese neo Emperor.
