Giving Them Their Due

Friends, lest we forget, Democrats are people too.  Sometimes, therefore, we have to listen to what they have to say, if only to give ourselves a reality check and consider whether we've retreated into a thought bubble...like so many of them have!

Consider this article that defends the fired U.S. Cybersecurity Chief, Chris Krebs.

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2020/12/03/dont_politicize_our_election_process_144769.html

They make a fair point.  When Krebs praised the 2020 election as being the most secure in our history, he was probably thinking of his own efforts to protect the networks of federal and state election authorities from foreign hacking.  Well, he may have done a good job in that respect.  The problem is that, aside from Sidney Powell, no one is much concerned about foreign interference in the 2020 election.  If you watched President Trump's speech yesterday, he made it clear that the election was corrupted not from without, but from within.  It's the election authorities themselves who may have stolen this election, in other words, so poor Chris Krebs may have been spinning his wheels.  Be that as it may, his firing may have been excessive.

And consider this article, which argues that Biden "won" in 2020 because Democrats managed to reduce the third party vote, and garner almost all the anti-Trump vote.

The national results say that Biden got 51% of the vote and beat Donald Trump by 4 points.  And that, frankly, is the best argument for why we should accept Biden's "win" -- if you win nationally by four points, it's not implausible that you will squeak out narrow wins in the battleground states as well.  Fair enough.  But we should also ask how the Democrats marginalized third party candidates in 2020.  They did it by pruning the "news" of all coverage of third party candidates, except the coverage that mocked Kanye West, of course.  The Green Party's mere existence was not acknowledged by the mainstream media.  It's pretty hard to win votes when newsmen pretend you're invisible.  In addition, the media made the calculated decision to ignore any and all stories that made Biden look bad.  Hunter Biden?  Who's that?  Tara Reade?  Never heard of her.  By the end of the campaign, the mainstream media was one big press agent for Joe Biden.  That naturally suppressed the third party vote, because anyone not fond of Trump would vote for Biden automatically -- you know, that guy without flaws of any kind...  Lastly, the Dems cynically maneuvered to exclude the Green Party from the ballot in 2020 in many key states, like Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.  Why would the Dems not want voters to have options?  Duh!  It's because they wanted every Trump hater to have only one choice: Biden.  You may not have liked him, but you had to lump him.  So, in conclusion, the article is right that the Dems very successfully united virtually the entire anti-Trump vote in 2020, and that helps to explain why Biden performed so well.  The question that lingers is...how many of those "votes" that Biden received came from people legally entitled to vote (once!)?

This article gives me the impression that you are "softening me up" to accept a Biden regime. I'm beginning to feel like one of these Soviet citizens under Stalin who has just been arrested by the NKVD. After beating the shit out of me, I sign a paper saying that I am an enemy of the state for not having a picture of Comrade Stalin in my apartment.

I am then shipped off to a Siberian labor camp, and by then I have washed my own brain, and have come to believe that I really am an enemy of the state. (In this case for failing to vote for Comrade Biden).

At this point is there anything that I need to do to transform myself into an obedient Leftist and get ready for the New World Order?

    Please advise.

  2. {{smiles/joking}} Just accept it like they want us too, Ray (and that would be an astounding NO).

    1. Hello Linda,

I do accept it, along with the firm belief that the "d" words have it. The new, revised, and expanded Democrats= DEADLY, DISEASE, DISASTER, DEFICIENCY, DECAY, DELUSION, DARKNESS, DUNG, DEVILMENT, DESTRUCTION, DETERIORATION, DESERTION, DEMONS, DEGENERATION, DEATH AND DAMNATION. I know I can count on them to give The American People all of these "d" things in full measure. I have full confidence in their ability to deliver all of the aforementioned "d" type things.

  3. Ray -- ha! No, by no means am I accepting Biden's "win". In fact, I'm thinking critically about the matter for the precise reason that I want us to be credible when we talk about how fraudulent the election was. If we go around saying that the Iranians paid off election workers in Wayne County, Michigan to fix voting machines that counted the ballots in Pyongyang, well, how far are we going to get? Some of the election fraud narratives will be -- ARE -- false. That doesn't mean the election wasn't stolen. It means we have to use our heads in explaining how it WAS stolen. The best argument, in my view, is that the mail-in system was rigged to allow virtually unlimited votes to pour in for Biden, without adequate safeguards.

And if we do become a leftist dictatorship, I've already expressed my willingness to shift gears to WaddyIsLeft. You might consider changing your name to Ray Engels? Vladimir Rayovich? Raylina Stalinova (the transgender vibe is a bonus)?

  5. It needs to be understood at all times that The Left (also erroneously know as "Democrats"), elite and rank and file do not consider anything that has been done to defeat Trump (or attempt to defeat him) as illegal, or immoral or unethical. Whatever it takes to get rid of Trump is totally justified. The Left doesn't give a damn about the law or The Constitution. Trump is "evil" because he stands in the way of implementing global socialism and the role of The United States of America in that process. If election/voter fraud is what is takes to install Biden then so be it. And this is not only to defeat Trump but to prevent any Republican candidate from getting in The White House ever again. In fact The Left would be ecstatic if they could simply get rid of anything on The Right. And The Left does not consider it wrong of a foreign power assists in the process to get rid of Trump in particular and Republicans in general. Approved Leftist tactics include bribes and threats. Democrats no longer play by any rules, anything goes.

  6. Ray, Trotsky's last meeting was with an ice-axe, and it didn't end happily -- for Trotsky. I suppose the ice-axe was indifferent, much like the man who wielded it. Sure you want to stick with that moniker?

Ray, I think you're right: the Dems would do anything, countenance anything, if it meant lancing the boil of Trumpism. Polls show that most Republicans believe there was major fraud in this election -- but they also show that many Democrats believe it too. They just don't care.

  7. Dr. Waddy, oh, please. Third party candidates were incredibly weak this time out. The Libertarians had a ticket in 2016 with two reasonably well-known quantities in Gary Johnson and William Weld. No one knew the person running as a Libertarian this year, and they did a poor job of generating attention. Kanye West was a cringeworthy psychological mess.

The problem with third parties is not that the media don't cover them -- it is that they don't do the work between election cycles, such as managing to get on the ballot and getting people registered. They also don't arrange for state conventions, etc., that could qualify for primaries and state media attention.

As for other stories, Tara Reade very quickly undercut her credibility with an incredible number of holes in her story. As for Hunter Biden, for all of the charges against him, there was no credible evidence. FOX, Newsmax and OANN made business decisions to promote the Hunter Biden hoax, while CNN and MSNBC and the broadcast networks decided to be journalists and quit promoting the charges when there was no evidence.

I have never in my lifetime seen such sour grapes by one side over the results of a presidential election. This from an outgoing president whose mismanagement of the pandemic has resulted in tens of thousands of unnecessary deaths, who will be leaving with an unemployment rate in the 6.5-6.7% range (when he inherited 4.8 unemployment, with growth down dramatically from what he inherited, and with a record growth of debt.

Trump lost because he was a disaster. 81 people voted him out because of it.

Thank God Biden and Harris assume office in 46 days.

  8. Sour grapes? Your side, Rod has been spitting sour grapes for 4 years. Hillary is the prime example. Ha on CNN and MSNBC being journalists, more like propaganda.

  10. Linda, unlike the whiner-in-chief, Hillary Clinton actually conceded.

  11. Dr.Waddy et al from Jack: Well! If the shameful, reflexive four year onslaught on this President and the real America he champions, for having insolently denied Princess Hillary her birthright is not at the conceivably least, "sour grapes", why then bless me for a fool!

    1. Again, Clinton had the class to concede. Trump has no class.

  12. Class? What does that have to do with anything? ANYWAYS--Ray, no to Trotsky. We shall find another moniker, grin.

  13. I agree with Rod: at least "81" people voted for Biden. It could even be twice that number...

Are we really debating who has more "class" than whom? I'll "concede": Trump isn't the incarnation of poise and dignity. Do I care? Not really. There's a country to govern, people!
