How Dare We!

Friends, you really have to read this op-ed by Brad Raffensperger, Georgia's (Republican) Secretary of State, in which he takes President Trump to task for "throwing [him] under the bus".  Raffensperger views the 2020 election in Georgia as pristine, and he bristles at any criticism.  What's instructive about his op-ed, though, is not what it says, but what it doesn't say.  It doesn't -- even remotely -- consider the substance of the President's criticisms and concerns.  Did old Brad count the votes fairly and impartially?  No doubt he did, but that isn't the point.  The point is this: were there adequate safeguards in place to confirm that every ballot that was cast was legally valid and entitled to be counted?  That's where the rubber meets the road, especially in a close election.  It's all about the signatures, Brad, and we Republicans don't necessarily trust Democratic elections officials to follow the law when it comes to sifting through the ballots.  So please, Brad and other establishment types, stop dismissing our concerns out of hand.  It's not personal -- it's about the future of our country and of our democracy!  We want to know who really won the election.  You should too.

It must frustrate our establishment and our elite to no end that, despite their best efforts at preemption, they can't simply wave a magic wand and make doubts about the election disappear.  No, sir!  The way that the Dems always count their votes after we do, the suspicious patterns of votes in big Dem cities in the battleground states, the loosening of mail-in ballot rules, and the high-handedness of Dominion Voting Systems, all make us Trumpers queasy.  It sure looks like those doubts are growing too.  That's important: President Trump will never get the Beltway crowd on his side, but he needs the American people to back him, if he's to have a chance of prevailing over the Dems' chicanery.

And congrats to the California GOP, which is showing some signs of life...thanks to Trump?

Finally, we all know that media bias is obscene, but Big Tech was "all in" for Biden too:

  1. In the final analysis, the end of our wonderful Constitutional Republic will begin if "Stinking Woman" and "Dog Man" of the Marxist Tribe take office in January 2021. Nothing but a continuation of the absolute bullshit The American People have been put through with the manufactured and planned Corona "crisis" followed by deliberately rigged elections.

But you know, apparently half of the gullible U.S. population, eligible or ineligible to vote, will have selected these career reptilian politicians to lead them.

The last chance for any recovery will come in 2024, and even then it could be too late. Anyway, it's been a great privilege to live in a country, and especially for those of us who are old enough to know what things were like before the elite assholes took us over.

  2. Yes, it IS a privilege to the live in the U.S. of A.! It's depressing that half of the country would vote, in effect, to replace America-as-it-is with America-as-socialists-would-like-it-to-be, but the other way to look at it is this: the other half of the country defied a lot of bullying, censorship, and relentless propaganda to vote FOR America. So, as you can see, the glass really is half full!

    1. DR. NICK

You got it. And half of the country basically voted for something far worse that the Corona Virus. It's called the DemoVIRUS, and as of now there is no vaccine for it, and none coming in the foreseeable future. All morbid metaphors and puns aside, it may well kill off those who voted FOR America.

But power addiction is stronger than any addiction, and our Leftist elites are slaves to it. But I suspect that half of the country who voted for them will somehow think they are living in some sort of utopia. One thing for sure, that border needs to be open so those fools who voted for the DemoGERMS will be able to have all those drugs they need.

But not to worry, our possible new masters Snake Woman and Dog Man of the Marxist Tribe will figure out what to do. You can trust them. They are with the High Command.

  3. Dr. Waddy. We know who won the election -- Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Just because Trumpsters have hurt feelings that their cult leader lost does not change the reality. Plus, it wasn't close. At the present time, Biden has a 3.9% lead in the popular vote, with over 80 million votes cast for him -- shattering all records.

The Trump team is 2-38 in court so far as judges are unimpressed with the "evidence" and legal "arguments" presented.

The market seems to be fine with it. Remember when Trump said that the market would tank with a Biden victory. Well, Biden declared the winner on November 7 and the market has been on a roll -- with the Dow breaking the 30,000 mark.

As for Epstein, I don't know any reputable social scientist who thinks Epstein has anything valid to say. Epstein has as much credibility as the Media Research Center, a 501(c)3 scam that is alleging the news media blocked information from voters, allowing Biden to win.

There's going to be a lot of crap being spewed before January 20.

  4. Hey There Rod Man

Hope you won't spew too much of your crap on this site before January 20.

    Have a nice day, fool.

  5. Dr. Waddy et al: One reason the Dems want to get past the election is that they are frantic to get on with the next phase, which is characterized by the so called "Trump Accountability Project" which is reported to be working for "economic and professional retaliation against Trump supporters". Clintonista Robert Reich called for a "Commission" to name those whose "greed and cowardice enabled this catastrophe". AOC anticipates Trump supporters trying to "downplay their complicity". Why, pray, does she anticipate them doing that?

    1. Anonymous. No one is above the law. Once out of office, Trump will be investigated for possible tax and bank fraud, as well as charges stemming from the $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels. The civil litigation brought by women Trump allegedly sexually assaulted will also proceed more quickly to trial.

So, yes, Trump will face accountability.

  6. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Recently you and I discussed the certainty of far leftist overreach as soon as they think they have prevailed. Oh yeh! This one is right out of the Maoist textbook: "Struggle against Lin Piao and Confucius". AOC, always refreshingly frank about her totalitarian intentions,no doubt anticipates ruinous sanctions on Trump nations' exemplars for their insolent heresy. Gee, why is all this not much of a surprise?

  7. Ray, as always, you find a "ray" of hope: we'll always have narcotics, when ideology fails us!

Rod, you're right that the market seems unfazed by the Biden "win". Perhaps that's because, fiscally, the market sees little difference between the establishments of the two main parties? I suspect so. Perhaps it's also because the market knows that most of Biden's blueprint for the future is pure pie-in-the-sky.

Rod, since you view an anti-Trump inquisition as inevitable, under a Biden regime, we will count that as one more vote for Trump as President-for-Life. I mean, you've just underlined the consequences of failure in the 2020 election for us Republicans. I notice you were silent on the question of retaliation or "accountability" for Trump supporters... Maybe you think we need a commission to study that question first?

Jack, I draw some comfort from the fact that AOC's "power" is that of a gadfly. She doesn't even hold a leadership position in the House, much less the Democratic Party as a whole, and a Biden administration would hold her at arm's length. This talk about "accountability" should be taken seriously, but my guess is it will be far more about shutting down free speech and chasing Trumpers out of the workplace than it will be about putting anyone behind bars.

  8. Dr. Waddy, if Trump enablers committed actual crimes, then, yes, they should be held accountable. But, just because you supported him is not a crime. Poor judgment, but not a crime.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Rod, I think we can all agree that criminals are those who commit crimes. Remember, though, that "accountability" isn't just about the law. It could also be about de-platforming or de-monetizing or shadow-banning critics, or it could be about labeling Trump support "hate" and dismissing Trumpers from their jobs. Or it could be about refusing service to Trump supporters. Or it could be about camping out in front of someone's home and shouting mean things. "Accountability" comes in many forms.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Dr. Waddy, first of all, shadow-banning is a right-wing myth. It doesn't exist. People don't get de-platformed in social media unless they violate terms-of-service agreements. Refusing service is bad business. Dismissing someone from their job can expose you to liability. There's not much you can do if someone protests on a public street, but I don't advocate it. I am not into cancel culture.

  11. Dr.Waddy et al from Jack:It's the stated intent of such proposals which is appalling; it is yet another reminder of what far left power guarantees: incipient and ever accelerating totalitarianism! This stuff is right on the model of Soviet purges ;it is common sense to interpret it as fairly predictive of what leftist rule would be like, especially after such a year. Would not open expression of Nazi intent be considered fair warning? It certainly proved to be so. At what point will Dems of good will recognize that their party has been cuckooed by neo Communist incipient tyrants? Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Castro, were all once recognized by their contemporaries as members of the human race. So many of these believers in a fundamental goodness in our species were immolated by the sociopathic believers in Marxist presumption motivated thereby to summarily reject the 200 year upward evolution of thinking in favor of theory picked out of the air! The incalculably monstrous consequences are a matter of historical record. And no,they might well not purpose carnal sanctions like Stalin and Mao did. But life ruining sanctions? They have already plainly expressed that intent for those who"dare to thwart the revolution" by blocking them!

  12. Rod, I'm glad to hear that you reject "cancel culture". There's hope for you yet!

Jack, that's true: the purpose of the bullying tactics of the Left isn't just to force us into silence. It's also to "ruin lives", as you put it. Taking pleasure in conservatives' pain is a very prominent part of the worldview of the typical leftist, as far as I can tell.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Dr. Waddy. Cancel culture is where some "liberal" people in the field and I part company. I don't agree with your political views, but I would be one of the first folks out there supporting you in keeping your job if folks came for it.

I believe the academy is far more vibrant if we can have a full range of perspectives expressed.

The academy lost a lot in the 1950s and early 1960s when liberal professors either lost their jobs, or refused to express their thoughts because of McCarthyisms (yes, plural is intentional). To have liberal versions of McCarthyisms is no less destructive.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Well said, Rod! I feel the same way about liberals. While I loathe the underlying ideology, ascertaining what's true and good is not an exact science, and we all need to show a little humility in the enterprise. ESPECIALLY in the academy we need to give people the scope to be, well, wrong, even horrifyingly wrong, because a diversity of viewpoints is essential to intellectual progress and civilization itself.
