Go, Liz, Go!

Friends, on behalf of the WaddyIsRight commentating empire, I want to wish Senator Elizabeth Warren all the best in tonight's Democratic primary debate.  Warren has taken on the mantle of "frontrunner," at least in Iowa and New Hampshire, and that means she may be subjected to unprecedented scrutiny.  On the other hand, we can expect the Dems to be talking a lot tonight about Hunter Biden and impeachment, so in that sense it might still be Joe Biden on the hot seat...  We shall see.  However you slice it, I'm still in Warren's corner.  She's straight out of central casting as a Presidential loser, if you ask me.  Just what the doctor ordered!

  1. Dr. Waddy: I'll rely on after the fact commentary on any Dem debate, as I cannot abide the sight or sound of them. I can imagine two possibilities: first; that its President Trump who will be on the hot seat and that the Dems, in pressing an advantage they may think they have ("Its Looking More Like Watergate Everyday")(Watergate was of course their defining and celebrated triumph) may pause in their internecine hugger mugger to try to deal the President another blow. It would seem unlikely they would support any attack on the Bidens based in this current controversy, as they might think it would work to the President's advantage. As Biden's star sets before the rise of Warren, Dem radicals may think Biden's defeat already promised.

I agree, let us hope for a present triumph by Warren which will generate in her, chutzpah and the kind of disdainful smugness demonstrated by so many Dem candidates. Though some Dem winners displayed it, it can't help and Trump nation, I think, is very sensitive to it. She will, almost certainly, move to the center at some point but an early nomination triumph may embolden her to try her radical leftist convictions nationwide. But if they fluffs, she would be that much further behind. When Gore ran against Bush, I was driving home at night each night. Even over the radio I could plainly perceive Gore's obnoxious self righteous demeanor. Warren's approach so far suggests as much. These Dems have thought since '72 that they had only to wake a sleeping America up to their undoubted wisdom.

  2. Dr. Waddy: Second: that they will go all out to make Warren look nominable and electable, showing they believe that they now have chance only for the VP nod. Third: I'm very wrong and the internal turmoil will continue (I hear 'por'ole Bernie is back to the hustings. C'mon Bernie, give it up, let it go and enjoy retirement; its great.

  3. Hi Jack. You're certainly right that they all piled on Trump. That was item one on the agenda. They were in pretty universal agreement that impeachment is justified and Trump is a gangster/buffoon. Gabbard, though, did sound a note of caution on impeachment, suggesting it could backfire. For her, an "inquiry" may be as far as it should go. No one was asked if they would VOTE to impeach or remove, which is really the germane question.

Buttigieg and Klobuchar went after Warren. That may be because they find her ideologically repugnant, or it may be political calculation: they want to be rewarded by future candidate Biden with the V.P. slot. I personally don't think Biden is out of it by any means. It bodes well for him that Warren is now taking flak, and Bernie is still chugging away. Warren was a cool customer, though. I think she's in it for the long haul.

  4. Dr. WaddY: A plague on all their houses. Let their impassioned crusade redound to their consummate confusion! And its very possible it will. You are right; how will they actually vote in the House? That may await some hoped for development reflecting badly on the President. That of course is well within the purview of the MSM. I'm still confident that the real America is up to it!

  5. Jack, a floor vote in the House would be a fascinating exercise. And you're right that it's well within the media's capacity to create the illusion that Schiff and Co. have "proven" Trump guilty. The truth is, though, that most Americans already believe Trump is guilty...they just don't favor impeachment and removal.

  6. After an hour, I just couldn't take it anymore. I say the winner though, was Tulsi Gabbard, Assad's partner in crime (I didn't say that, did I ((GRIN))?) Poor thing only got like 7 minutes of talking time.

I agree, most Americans think Trump is guilty because the MSM is controlling the narrative.

  7. Linda, I was impressed by Gabbard as well. She's got...moxie? Ha ha. Yang too should get credit for thinking outside the box. I was glad to see Buttigieg and Klobuchar take it to Warren, for a change. I wonder if Gabbard's feud with Clinton will get her some traction in the polls?

    1. I think Clinton's words are coming back to bite her. I see the majority of candidates and dems. support Gabbard's rebuke to her.

  8. Linda: Too, Gabbard is a veteran and to most vets I would think the Clintons are anathema.

  9. The Clinton-Gabbard feud is fascinating, I must say. It seems there is a lot of bad blood between them, as there is, I'm sure, between the Clintons and many free-thinking and self-respecting Democrats. Linda -- I'm not sure I agree that the "majority" of Democratic candidates are backing up Gabbard, though. Yang, Williamson, and Beto have defended her so far. The big guns -- Biden, Sanders, and Warren -- are completely silent. The Clinton mafia still inspires fear!

  10. Dr. Waddy and Linda: As cynical, yet defendable in this political jungle, as it is, we must yet hope for the nomination of the most obviously flawed Dem. candidate possible because our object is to retain this gutsy, patriotic President and the Dem nomination of a very blighter would advance that cause and tend to confirm, yet again, their fell intentIons for our country. Gabbard might be the most honorable of a lot yet determined to destroy America, a goal their vehicle, the Dem party, surrendered to a long time ago.

  11. Dr. Waddy and Linda: What I meant to say above is that Gabbard, as honorable as she probably is, must yet use the leftist infested Dem party as her vehicle and should she ascend, she will OWE it big time.

  12. True, Jack -- Gabbard is still a dirty, dirty Democrat. No one should romanticize her unduly. Still, any Democrat who lets Hillary have it deserves our momentary sympathy...

Wouldn't it be nice if President Trump could win reelection on the merits...by a landslide? Alas, life isn't fair, and he's highly unlikely to do so. A flawed Democratic candidate, or a strong third party challenge, preferably from the left, would help our cause immensely.

  13. Dr. Waddy: I think a strong Trump victory a distinct possibility.
