Out of This World (No Longer)!!!

Friends, thanks to SpaceX -- an American success story, if ever there was one -- two NASA astronauts are back on terra firma.  Way to go, Elon!  Boeing may not be able to deliver the goods, but SpaceX has become "old reliable" when it comes to launching satellites into space and now, almost as an afterthought, crewed missions as well.

Trump and Putin agreed today on a ceasefire limited to attacks on energy infrastructure.  Will further progress be made?  Perhaps.  One has to question whether the Russians even want a ceasefire, at this stage, because they're the ones winning the war.  Ironically, the Russians, the Ukrainians, and the Euro-weenies may all be on the same page -- fight fight fight! -- albeit for radically different reasons, while we Americans may be relatively alone in wanting an end to the whole debacle.  How crazy is that?

Finally, yet another federal district court judge has put yet another roadblock in the way of the Trump Administration and DOGE.  Specifically, this judge is insisting that USAID must be reopened.  The judicial obstructionism targeting Trump and friends is becoming pervasive and severe.  Something has to give.  I implore SCOTUS to act with urgency to strip district court judges of these dictatorial powers.  I implore SCOTUS, but I can't say I have enormous confidence that the Supremes will act.

I doubt he will do this, but I wish that President Trump would cut off all aid of any kind to Ukraine, and break off talks with Putin on this issue. Let the Euro-weenies solve this issue, period. At the same time, the U.S. needs to break free of NATO, and let the Euro-weenies figure out how to provide for their own defense.

With that said, after Gaza is reduced to gravel, and the Palestinians become bedouins again, that piece of real estate can become a large, joint U.S.-Israel, military and naval base in order to maintain our presence in the area.

On that note, I doubt Trump will move in those directions, but it sure would be nice if he did, in my opinion. Long live the Euro-weenies and their endless wars.

  2. Dr. Waddy from Jack: These Dems never learn do they? "Yeah, pile on the lawfare! Stop Trump 'by any means' !" What an original idea , no? Well, when they used it to try to "legally"prevent America from voting for him, it flew right back in their faces didn't it, all ten redolent tons of it! And this present tactic of presumptuous desperation on their part; its lawfare part 2.Now what if it fails (and IT WILL) and they run out of Federal Courts in which to find obsequious "legal"supporters. What is next; "Workers'Soviets", ehhh? Good luck with that far leftists. Working people have caught on to your contemptuous patronization of them . All you'll have left are the "community organizers", the sophomores, the airy "university" radicals and the poverty pimps in their mansions.

So keep on keeping on,Antiamericans , as you have and keep on building on the deep distrust and the irreversible antipathy you have built with your leering, sneering degradation of our culture and our polity in preparation for your totalitarian "redemption". You just cannot countenance the dread reality that you have been found out; America knows you now for the emotionally driven prospective Commissars and executioners you most assuredly are.

  4. Ray from Jack: That is an intriguing possible tactic. Depart Nato and detach our country from the always and ever single fundamental issue in the war: irreversible Russian insistence that Ukraine never be admitted to Nato. And by the by, acknowledge that the old Cold War was won and is over. It would be an implied admission on our part that any encouragement of Ukraine in their painful hope for Nato protection was wrong headed and irresponsible. Yes, let Europe face that reality and the possibility of Russian assertion of it to the thermonuclear extent of Russian power, on its own. Get real, everyone. Russia will never endure what they see as such a humiliating affront and shameful strategic retreat. Never! Any who doubt that: look at a map and read Russian history. And while you are at it, read about what a Grizzly sow does when her only essential interest is threatened. We may not like it but we cannot ignore the ruggedly brutalized part of Russia's national personality. Let Europeans (eg,. the French, who contemplate putting troops in Ukraine - shades of 1812) face this without the assurance of American support . They can stop the Red Army and they can go nuke for nuke but do they really want to do that for Ukraine?

I doubt Trump will do what I wish he would do. He's determined to broker peace in The Ukraine, and apparently wants to create a Riviera out of Gaza. I think he is taking two wrong roads simultaneously. Make it three wrong roads by not getting out of NATO. I think it's hilarious that a country like Sweden joined NATO. They did join didn't they? Ha!

  5. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Recently I have read much informed commentary to the effect that Russia invaded Ukraine to prevent the growth and influence of a pro West state on its border.

But Ukraine's importance is not only because it is on and in a very strategically significant position on Russia's border. Poland is on the Russian border ( its an historical opponent of Russia, both militarily and culturally eg. Poland is Roman Catholic and Russia is Eastern Orthodox Catholic) and so is obviously pro Western Nato in several locations.

No, Ukraine has an intense and unique historical and geographic importance for Russia. Ok, maybe Ukraine's overthrow of a pro Russian regime did excite Russian concerns but Russia did not march until the real prospect of Ukrainian membership in Nato, an obviously antiRussian alliance, manifested. Nato had already made an astonishing advance through Russia's post WWII buffer against another invasion , its old Warsaw Pact, all the way to the Russian border. And Russia reluctantly accepted it. But this hard nation has its limits.

They are Russia! In WWII they endured the worst evil ever directed by one country to another. Of course they are sensitive to any hint of future invasion. Is Nato in Poland and its possible advance through Ukraine to within several hundred miles of Moscow not an understandable concern for Russia? Lets get real!

  6. Dr. Waddy from Jack: I have been confused by the several different organizations (including traditional NASA) engaged in the now burgeoning effort to reemphasize human exploration of space. But Musk's Space Ex appears to be emerging from the pack.

Let that be another discreditation of the far left's excoriation of Musk. He is a very possibly Promethean figure and his vehement detractors are mental and intellectual midgets!

  7. Ray, I agree that we need to consummate the transformation of US-European relations with a formal US departure from NATO. I too wonder whether Trump has the guts to do this, however.

You know, it occurs to me that, if NATO is effectively dissolved, then the Europeans will be free to cobble together whatever successor alliance they wish, and no doubt Ukraine will then want to join...that, whatever it ends up being called. And maybe a whole new war will be fought over that prospect -- hopefully with no US involvement whatsoever.

Quite right: Musk is thinking big about humanity's and Western Civilization's survival. The Left is thinking small about how to preserve its own privileges and influence.

Well, if Trump can't get a divorce from NATO, he should at least abandon the Middle East Riviera in Gaza. Looks like "The Crazy Water Aqua Fun Park" was opened there in May 2010, and not all that long thereafter, was destroyed by some equally crazy Islamist terrorists. In addition to the water park there was the Al Bustan resort and the Bisan City tourist village.

  8. Dr. Waddy from Jack: I think though , that the always cynically world weary and expeditious Europeans would be compelled to be VERY realistic about any alliance of their formation challenging nuclear armed Russia in Ukraine. With us in Nato they think they have the big stick, against which Russia dare not move. Without us they would have to face merciless reality. Do they REALLY think that larger than life Putin means to reoccupy his KGB office in Berlin and that Ukraine is just the first step?

  9. Dr. Waddy from Jack: You are right about the Dems thinking small. A poll I saw today , I think on CNN( I enjoy seeing the dark countenances manifested on far left sympathizing outlets, though CNN has made some apparently half hearted gestures toward objectivity; maybe they don't want to be the first Marxist shill network to go under), anyway, a poll which said AOC is judged by a plurality of Dem voters to be most representative of their views. She garnered only 10% affirmation on this but the poll cited many dem notables ( Biden was at 1% as he attempts a comeback in his rapidly consuming dotage).

Yeah, keep thinking small like that Dems and you'll be BIG losers again.

BTW: I think if Cuomo becomes NYC Mayor he would embark on a neo Guiliani anticrime feint in order to establish a completely disingenuous common sense populist front enabling him to presume the mantle of the Dem savior from AOC.

I thought AOC would try for that but she appears to be going for the ring by simply being her obnoxious self and advancing it in unabashed histrionic self righteous fomentation of RESISTANCE! I wish her very well of it. Maybe she could break Mondale's record for Electoral College futility.

Such speculation on my part is "just for ducks". 2028 may as well be
    - - - -just now.

  11. Dr. Waddy from Jack: So AOC and Sanders are making a "progress" together through the country in order to render correction and enlightenment to those taken in by false and iniquitous MAGA and its demonic Head. What a bizarre duo!.

Sanders is a direct connection to the old American Bolshevik rump and its acolytes pre '60s (think Greenwich Village coffee houses, the world weary beat generation, patronizing "folk" music, clandestine commie conviction). AOC is a cultural great grandchild of that progenitor of the "Kumbayaa" crowd of the early '60's which quickly degenerated into the spit on Vietnam veterans bunch. And like them she is so very fanatically bug eyed sure of her own unimpeachable righteousness in her Marxist cocoon.

MSNBC insists those two dissemblers wowed a crowd of 30, 000 in Denver, Colokalifornia. I wonder how much it cost the radicals to recruit them! Anyone who knows anything knows how cynically the commies in the countries they oppressed generated the "adoring " crowds seen at their "popular" celebrations!

Friends I have in the real Mountain West say Colo. is fast becoming a pariah among them; its a shameful conquest by Kalifornians who wish to plant lala colonies in fresh settings. (Not all expatriate Californians are that way; some only want to leave their benighted state and its ways far behind).

Again, I wish those two well of their efforts but only in this sense: that they help drive home to America the reality that the far left radical core of the Dem party is never going to give up its defining intent. That is the "fundamental transformation" and punishment of a thoroughly unjust U.S.

There are no doubt many Dems of good will and good intent who would stick with the party they sincerely believe to be the best vehicle for beneficial policy making if only if it would moderate! Let the AOC Bernie Show help to assure them that that is a hopeless wish.

  12. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Of course in the kind of Marxist dictatorship AOC and Bernie champion, there would be no necessity for persuading doubters to return to the fold. Dissenters would simply be hanged.

  13. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Schumer today was shown gloating over the appointment of over 200 leftist partisan Federal judges by the Biden administration with his vindictive support. Now that's the real Schumer we have all grown to disdain!

  14. Ray, I hope you're not suggesting that you're personally unwilling to visit the Crazy Water Aqua Fun Park. Failure to patronize that fine establishment is indicative of inveterate racism, or so I learned recently during a tour of the Columbia campus...

Good point, Jack: the only way the Euro-weenies would put troops in Ukraine is if they were 99.9% sure that those troops would never be called upon to fight.

I must say, it looks like Bernie and AOC are collecting a lot of plaudits from their fellow wackos, and Schumer is starting to sweat. Could the Dems really be THAT dumb? (The question is rhetorical.) I don't doubt that the crowds cheering them on are genuinely adoring. Not in the least. Probably a third of country would nod appreciatively if Satan Himself appeared on MSNBC, but getting to a majority or plurality of the national electorate is quite another matter.

Schumer has a point: by getting Biden's judges confirmed (efficiently), he did far more damage to the country than AOC's tweets ever did.
