Friends, not for the first time, Saint Donald is excelling his fellow men in wisdom, prudence, and compassion. That's because, while most of the West calls for escalation in Ukraine, and the immediate dispatch of more weapons to facilitate more killing, Trump is calling for negotiation and an end to the bloodshed at the earliest opportunity. As he points out, peace is often harder to arrange than conflict, and it can require extraordinary patience, forbearance, and selflessness, but I daresay everyone involved in this war would be better off if it ended now, rather than six months from now, or years hence. As Trump says, it never should have started in the first place, so let's do what we can to undo all the mistakes and missteps -- and heaven knows there are plenty to go around -- before more innocents are killed.

How is Russia keeping in the fight? Western sanctions are biting hard, but many of Russia's major trading partners are still happy to do business with her. Brazil is high on the list.
Finally, as you all know, the crisis at the border is escalating. Nevertheless, the media's (studied) indifference to that crisis persists. We just have to hope that open-minded voters, especially independents, aren't getting all their news from the shameless leftist propagandists posing as journalists who work for ABC, NBC, and CBS.
Trump is irrelevant. We have one president at a time, and he's not it -- despite DeSantis' attempts to screw up math education in Florida so that its residents will believe that 74 million votes is greater than 81 million votes.

They all had NYC accents and attitudes and their "literacy" lessons to the unwashed consisted of leftist political lessons, couched in language meant to politically indoctrinate.

In it I expressed no doubt that the "American" left would gladly and casually turn any discipline to its use.My first personal example was from when I subbed as an elementary school librarian and was required to read to 2nd graders (!) a breathless parable about a green planet with green creatures living in (of course) perfect harmony. Their idyll is broken by the advent of hairy, stinky whites who try to "civilize" them, the ulltimate defeat of whom is celebrated by the tale.

Although, the move here was quite painful, and bittersweet---our only child/adult son passed away quite suddenly and unexpected in Dec. Nonetheless, we are making do. We are also fighting with the moving company--they have been paid but they have not moved our things into storage yet. I will never ever trust this nationally known moving company again and will not recommend their services.

It is well to ask, therefore, how the Left would handle that reversal of fortune... I fear the answer may be: they would never let it happen in the first place, "democracy" be damned!
Jack, if there is a field of endeavor that the Left is loath to "weaponize", to borrow your phrase, I've never found it. Elementary and secondary education, in fact, are near the top of their list of priorities, which only proves that we are dealing with smart, far-sighted Marxists. A very scary thought.
Linda, it's so wonderful to have you back on the blog! Florida is a land of hope and promise for so many of us conservatives, as you know. That's not just because it's presently run by DeSantis and Co., and because Trump carried it (handily) in 2020, but because all this happened DESPITE (or because of?) the state's rapidly expanding minority population.
