In other news, a pal o' mine has written this piece analyzing the left-wing sharks that are starting to circle the Biden presidency. None of this is surprising in the least. An unpopular president, especially one with Biden's personal and political weaknesses, will always attract some onside criticism. The question is: how hard will it be for progressives and Democrats to convince Biden and his confederates that his day is done? Biden himself seems mighty oblivious, as you may have noticed! He could go quietly, or he could go kicking and screaming. We'll see.

And, as you may have noticed, the Ukrainian province of Luhansk is now in Russian hands. The fighting has been of a slow and grinding nature, but there's no question that Russia is advancing and Ukrainians are giving ground. The standard line in the West is that all this will change when MORE WEAPONS arrive. You would think by now the Ukrainians would be swimming in NATO-issue weaponry. Could the Russians exhaust themselves? Sure. We also have to confront the possibility that Ukraine's security forces could crumble at some point as well. And then what? Probably the best case scenario, from the Western perspective, is that Ukrainians and Russians will slaughter each other for years to come. At least that's how most Western leaders seem to see it: the whole purpose of this exercise is to attrit those infernal Russkies. Personally, I'd rather see everyone -- Russian, Ukrainian, and otherwise -- live to see another day...but I always was a bit of a contrarian.

Dr.Waddy from Jack: A very appropriate time for Pino Biden to bow out looms: that is, the day after the Nov. midterms. His only advantage for the dems was as a way to unseat President Trump. Now? He is a consummate disadvantage. What now for them?
ReplyDeleteRay (that's me) says, and keeps on saying, the midterm elections are 4 months off but the DemoNISTAS will do everything and anything they can to sabotage those elections. The Republicans think they can take Congress back because people are fed up with high gas prices and so on and so on. However, all sorts of things can and will happen in the next 4 months, to include a new pandemic or surges of the existing one. One of these days Republicans are going to learn that they are no longer dealing with Harry Truman Democrats, but a bunch of hard core Marxists of various types, posing as Democrats. Wait and see. The shit is going to hit the fan come early November.

ReplyDeleteRay, I understand your concerns, but the polls really do mean something, and the GOP edge has been consistent for months now. Plus, a deteriorating economy portends even worse fortunes for Democrats. But you're right: these folks are diabolically clever. We shall see.

ReplyDeleteWill the Left try to game the system in 2022 as they did in 2020? Sure, but several of their most potent weapons have already been neutralized. In 2020, the MSM would not allow Saint Joe (Biden) to be questioned or impugned in any way. Now the MSM regularly savages Sleepy Joe themselves. In 2020, private money underwrote massives changes to our election infrastructure, all to benefit Biden and the Dems. Now, many states have criminalized such private interference with the electoral process. Plus, I sincerely hope that the flouting of election laws in general will not be permitted in 2022 as it was in 2020. So, in sum, the Dems will be up to some of their old tricks, but I feel confident that the playing field will be more level this time around.
