Friends, there's much in the news. First, Vice-President Pence (a really decent guy, if you hadn't heard) has penned an op-ed in the Washington Post about the need for Congress to grant authority for the creation of the new Space Force, to be housed in the Air Force.  One assumes many Democrats will oppose the Space Force simply because it was Trump's idea.  Perhaps they will deny that space even exists? Oy.

We've just begun to see the ugliness that will develop on the Left as various Democrats -- some more "socialist" than others -- vie for the Democratic presidential nomination.  Just today this Bernie supporter is complaining that MSNBC is plotting against his guy, and an article also appeared in the New York Times calling on Democrats not to go too far to the left, lest they scare away centrist voters.  This tug of war will be fascinating to watch!

In what may prove ultimately to be the biggest news of the Trump era so far, the U.S. and China are nearing agreement on a new trading relationship.  Will it fundamentally alter the commercial balance of power and reverse Chinese abuses?  I have my doubts, but it will represent a major win for the U.S., and it will undoubtedly create many thousands of U.S. jobs.  It will be hard for the media to sweep this one under the rug, folks...

As you no doubt saw coming, the House Democrats are positively giddy with anticipation about all the "dirt" on Trump, and his family, which they're intending to dig up.  As usual, they can't pick a focus for their Trump-hatred, but they're sure that, if they attack on all fronts, he's bound to cry uncle.  Ha!  Clearly they haven't met the man.  That Congress will drag the Trumps through the mud from now to November 2020 is certain.  That the American people will be persuaded by any of these antics is doubtful.  Democrats run the very real risk that their harassment of the President will backfire -- and that they will lose control of the rabid, impeachment-craving faction in the party.  Pelosi and Schumer would love to keep a lid on calls for impeachment, but for those who watch CNN and MSNBC for a living, and there appear to be millions of these lost souls, nothing will suffice except summary execution for all Trumps.

Socialism is emerging as one of the key themes in the 2020 race, and there is every indication that this line of attack against Democrats could be a powerful and effective one.  The American people don't cotton to socialism.  The Dems have yet to figure this out, and some of them, like Bernie, could never change their spots, even if they wanted to.

Reparations: One More Way to Keep Blacks on the (Democratic) Plantation?

Friends, the Left keeps getting loonier and loonier.  Four years ago President Obama and the two main Democratic candidates for President had the good sense not to touch the concept of "reparations" for the descendants of slaves with a ten-foot pole.  Heck, even Bernie knew better!  Now, though, to compete for the votes of the party faithful, apparently you have to embrace any and every left-wing proposal, no matter how unrealistic, no matter how expensive, and no matter how deeply unpopular.  Democrats are backing themselves into a corner, and they're making President Trump's task of winning re-election easier by the day (not that I imagine it will be all that easy, in the final analysis).

The Terminatress: Hasta La Vista, Selective Service?

Friends, there are all sorts of intriguing stories in the news.  First, a federal judge has found our all-male system of selective service to be unconstitutional, because, well, federal judges rewrite and re-imagine the Constitution willy-nilly these days, so why not?  In truth, the fact that women are exempted from mandatory military service in the US (and many other countries) does seem unfair, but on the other hand can we really sustain the illusion that men and women are equally capable of, and equally suitable for, military service?  The Left wants us to believe that gender is what you make of it, but at a certain point biological differences must be acknowledged, no?  No, probably not.  The liberals never let reality get in the way of a good utopian scheme.

In other news, AOC is speculating on whether it might be immoral to have children, given that the planet is going down the tubes.  She's thus confirming the essentially anti-human leftist dogma that undergirds much of modern environmentalism, as well as the conceit that we KNOW what "the planet" will be like in a generation or two, and it's all bad.  Drivel!

Speaking of climate change, keep an eye on the cresting wave of lawsuits that are designed to punish, and possibly to destroy, the fossil fuel industry.  The Left has made its modus operandi very clear in recent years: where democracy fails them, they turn to the courts to realize their wild utopian dreams, and quite often it works.  No one imagined that the courts would ever redefine marriage to suit gay rights activists, and for years such requests were summarily quashed, but the Left chipped away at establishment judges for many years, and in the end got its way.  Beware!

Finally, some good news.  It seems that the Trump re-election campaign is already swinging into high gear on Facebook.  That's excellent.  The news media will naturally be working in lockstep to destroy President Trump -- BEFORE 2020, if at all possible -- so it's essential that his campaign be on the ball.  As the Democratic field of presidential candidates narrows, we conservatives will also want to define these liberal standard-bearers as the radical socialists that they (mostly) are.  The upshot: the 2020 campaign is already underway!

The Big Apple Bows to Waddyism At Long Last

Supercilious Emperor Cuomo may not like it, but his popularity is hitting bottom, and increasingly his big government, left-wing policies are attracting fierce criticism.  Among those critics: ME!  Check out my latest article.  This one focuses on New York State's hostility to natural gas production and utilization, and the costs borne by New Yorkers because of the Cuomo administration's eco-radicalism.  The article appears in the New York Post.  In case you're keeping track, that's a major coup for the WaddyIsRight commentating empire...  I'm very grateful to the Post for the opportunity, and trust me when I say that Cuomo and his ilk haven't heard the last from me.

The White Elephant That Liberals Wish Was In The Room

Friends, today I bring you a couple of great analyses of the Jussie Smollett hate crime hoax. Once again, the media embraced a story that confirmed its own prejudices: OF COURSE rampaging Trump supporters are targeting blacks and gays in America...  How could it be otherwise?  Surely, therefore, it would be impolite to question Mr. Smollett's claims, or to subject them to any critical analysis -- that would be too much like "journalism", which went out of fashion decades ago.  Smollett played liberal America for fools.  As these articles indicate, though, none of this is an accident.  The myth that America is a hateful, racist, and unfair place is absolutely CENTRAL to the Democratic Party's viability in this day and age.  Expect more of the same.

In other news, Bernie Sanders is running for president again!  Hooray!  The more candidates, the better, I say -- and Sanders will further divide the hard-left, making it more likely that a squishy-soft moderate like Biden will win the nomination.  In fact, my guess is that NO ONE will win the nomination, at least not before the convention.  Chaos will soon have have the Democratic Party is its steely grip!  I can't wait.

Finally, as you might expect, I fully endorse President Trump's decision to pursue the construction of a southern border wall through the declaration of a national emergency.  The Left will use its standard legalistic playbook in an effort to block the declaration, needless to say.  Expect a national injunction to be issued in a matter of days or weeks.  My hope is that the Supreme Court will take up the issue on an expedited basis, and I would be fairly confident that the President's emergency powers will be upheld.  The upshot?  The wall is coming!  Another promise kept by President Trump.

Fake News, Fake Reality?

When Will Those Pesky White Males Learn...To Shut Up?

Friends, today I bring you a cornucopia of wisdom and insight...

First, check out this article about a college student who wrote an op-ed about the ignorance and outspokenness of "white boys".  Now, I support free speech -- don't get me wrong -- but the author of this article is venting prejudice and stereotypes about a group defined by their skin color and gender.  Would Dickinson allow the article to be published, if it was similarly biased against blacks or women?  Duh.  The double standard on "racism" and "sexism" lives on.

And here's another great article about the ongoing migration of Americans from high-tax states to low-tax states.  Hardly surprising.  You'll note that many red states are due to gain in Congressional representation after the 2020 census.  Unfortunately those changes won't benefit President Trump in 2020, however.  The changes don't take effect until 2022.

I'm no great admirer of Nate Silver and his ilk.  These election prognosticators basically read the polls, opine that the polls are probably right, and collect the accolades.  Big deal.  However, Nate makes an important point towards the end of the article.  A very large Democratic field of presidential candidates in 2020, combined with new rules that require the proportional allocation of delegates, makes it possible, maybe even probable, that the Democratic nominee won't be chosen by the time of the Democratic National Convention.  It could be a floor fight, in other words, and horse-trading, which determine who the Democratic candidate will be.  In short, it could get ugly!  Hooray!

Finally, this is a must-read.  It looks as though the Trump administration will drive a stake through the heart of "disparate impact," a truly odious legal doctrine that basically says that, if the arbitrary racial quotas concocted in the minds of liberals aren't fulfilled by any institution or business, racism can be ASSUMED, regardless of whether it's actually present or provable.  I sincerely hope the Trump administration, and the Supreme Court, will end this very common form of reverse discrimination once and for all:
