Abandon Ship! Captain Pike Has the Conn

Friends, it's amusing to see the levels of terror steadily rising on the Left.  Or, it would be amusing if it wasn't also so terrifying.  After all, a cornered animal is a dangerous one.  I'm referring, of course, to the growing realization among Democrats that their man, Sleepy Joe, is behind -- to Beelzebub, no less!  This article doesn't mention the possibility of jettisoning old Joe, but read between the lines and it's what every Dem is thinking to himself.

In other news, did you know that criminals aren't criminals anymore?  Oh no.  The new, more P.C. term for those who murder, rape, steal, and jaywalk is..."justice-impacted individuals".  What a great turn of phrase, huh?  Even the left-wing Chicago Tribune knows this Orwellian verbiage won't go over well.

Finally, while you may have heard nothing about it, there's an election coming up...in South Africa!  The African National Congress, Nelson Mandela's party, has been in firm control of the country since 1994, but, as South Africa's problems pile up, the black population's adoration of the "freedom fighters" in the ANC has waned.  If the polls are right, the ruling party is about to see its majority eliminated, forcing it, in all probability, to form a coalition in order to govern.  Let's hope that means the country will get slightly more competent, slightly less corrupt, leadership going forward.  There's always hope!

  1. Dr. Waddy from Jack: If dem anxiety levels are rising now just think of how they will rocket if DJT is convicted and yet remains ahead or even
rises in the polls. That might well bring them to critical mass and as their ever dominant emotions engulf them, their discomfiture could be a sight to see! They may reap the whirlwind they have so arrogantly sown with their indefatigable self righteousness, their clearly demonstrated vicious tactical amorality in this critical year and their ever incipient totalitarian push for permanent complete power.

  2. Jack, there is a decent chance that Trump will be acquitted or there will be a mistrial -- in which case many lefties would be fit to be tied, although the wisest among them always knew this particular case was not a strong one. If he gets convicted and the polling barely budges, or doesn't budge, or budges only momentarily, then, as you say, the Left will find itself up Biden Creek without a paddle. Then again, "democracy" is but one potential paddle that they could use to propel themselves forward. My greatest fear is that, stymied at the ballot box, they will start working their way down a much more comprehensive list...

  3. Dr. Waddy from Jack: I know you know alot about South Africa. Correct me if I'm wrong but it appears to me that the ANC has betrayed South Africa's "revolution" and that Johannesburg is plagued with violent and whigte collar crime perhaps worse than some disgraced American cities. That radical contender, as described in the BBC article, could be another Robert Mugabe (?) If he ever takes power I would guess the country would go from the frying pan into the fire. Has there been much emigration from South Africa since the ANC prevailed?

  4. Jack, yes, I think it's fair to say that South Africa is misgoverned on a scale that would make downtown San Francisco look quite livable, by comparison. They can't even keep the lights on, let alone keep people safe. Racial loyalties (and grudges) run deep, though, so it's taken a long time to get blacks to reconsider voting for the ANC. Unfortunately, when they finally leave the ANC, they mostly go to parties even less responsible, and even further left. And yes, there's been lots of emigration since 1994, although perhaps not as much as you'd expect. Most whites have stayed put and just roll their eyes at the chaos.
