The World Gone Mad?

Friends, don't miss my latest interview on the Newsmaker Show on WLEA 1480.  Brian O'Neil and I discuss the head-scratcher that is the Left's vendetta against President Donald Trump...especially in light of the 20th anniversary of President Bill Clinton's impeachment and acquittal.  In 1998-99, Democrats couldn't care less that the President of the United States clearly broke the law and obstructed justice.  Now, they can't wait to impeach and remove Donald Trump for similar offenses, despite the fact that no strong evidence exists that he committed them.  What a difference twenty years makes!  In addition, Brian and I talk about our trade war with China, climate change and the prospects for human "extinction", the role of Michael Cohen in the inquisition against Donald Trump, the persecution/prosecution of General Michael Flynn, the need for a new special prosecutor, the prospects for war with Iran, and Gorbachev's policies of perestroika and glasnost in the Soviet Union.  Enjoy!

And here's a special holiday bonus: a story about how even Christmas isn't safe from the limitless wrath of Trump-haters. Note that this Yahoo story makes no mention of any possible criticism of these anti-Trump "Christmas decorations," nor does it make the point that maybe, just maybe, Christmas isn't the season to be tearing down the President of the United States.  We truly have reached a point where the Left's contempt for Donald Trump is intense enough to be described as pathological.  Very sad.

  1. Dr. Waddy: When I was in Singapore in 1973 long haired Singaporean males were emphatically given to understand by the government that they were highly suspect of drug activity. The result of that attitude (along with other far more draconian measures) was a nation largely free of drug crime. I do not
hold it against Iran, which has a cultural tradition which differs from that of the West when it comes to conflicts between freedom of expression and demonstrated social degradation, for banning Western popular music. Our popular culture is shamefully debauched and has had obvious deleterious effects on the well being of most societies in which it has proliferated (eg. drugs, tolerance of crime and contempt for the law, destructive sexual license, widespread cynicism in the most materially fortunate of settings). I sympathize with non Western societies which fear it and defend themselves against it.

One of the most ominous aspects of the left's misuse of Christmas is that is an unmistakable harbinger of the disdainful and fanatic bigotry which will inform and motivate their administration of the totality of our lives, should they ascend.

  2. Dr. Waddy: A sincere wish for enjoyment of this gloriously Judeo-Christian season is my hope for all in this glowing time, this blessed precious heritage.

  3. Merry Christmas to you as well, Jack!

Yes, I too don't blame the Iranians for looking askance at the products of American pop culture. I agree with you: it's mostly garbage. Having said that, not everything Western is bad.

In the final analysis, I'm all for sovereignty. Let the Iranians indulge in whatever form of Islamic fundamentalism they like in their own backyard...but when they threaten regional stability, or the interests of the United States and our allies, then we must be ready to face them down.

  4. Dr. Waddy: Since the left respects no Christmas season moratorium on partisanship I do not think myself bound to refrain (though I would never do so on that sacred day or its eve). I agree with everything you said above; I'm very grateful to have been born into Western culture;I see no obligation whatsoever to say this but I will for the sake of clarity, not for apology - that any interpretation of this as disparagement of other major cultures (most of which are blithe to defend themselves) is presumptuous and mistaken.

The continuing leftist motivated delight in taking outstanding military men to task (eg. "General betrayus", that screed bandied about, in a Senatorial inquisitorial setting in which that excellent General was duty bound not to answer frankly, by a Hillary unfit to shine his shoes in Officer Training; the present prosecution of a Green Beret carrying out duties inconceivable to those not privy to their milieu; the execrable persecution, even unto personal ruin, of General Flynn) is but the latter day manifestation of an enforcement of radical "loathing" for our forces indulged in regularly by the treasonous left. Their hope is to destroy military morale and the nadir of our armed forces confidence in the later '70's excites their hope in that regard. It is a much unrecognized element of courage for a person having transited the demanding journey to fighting command to contemplate the possibility of such profound injustice to his or her devotion and sacrifice.

In the '60's they spat on returning Vietnam combat veterans. Even they realize that would never be tolerated now (as it was, shamefully, back then). Some of the expectorators are still around but they and their avatars have shifted their focus to the destruction of long accomplished soldiers and sailors, whose training and accomplishments would have reduced the perfervid "loathers" to jelly. The counter and the just solution? President Trump's pardon power and I hope he exercises it freely.

  5. Well said, Jack! I'm not sure I detect a blanket loathing for the military in the modern Left -- they seem to like those portions of it that are willing to grovel at their feet -- but that they have no inherent respect for military valor or sacrifice is clear, as they have no inherent respect for anything. Your mention of pardon power puts me in mind of General Flynn. Why are we waiting to see what unjust sentence that nut in a black robe sees fit to deal out? Why not pardon Flynn and end his misery? I say he's suffered enough... Pardoning Flynn would also send an important message -- that Trump will not hesitate to use his pardoning powers. In this instance, though, he would more or less be doing Mueller's work for him, since everyone agrees Flynn shouldn't go to jail.

  6. Dr.Waddy: Ditto. I'm going to call the White House to urge him to pardon Gen. Flynn and to praise him for standing firm on adequate funding for the Wall.

  7. Good for you, Jack! Contacts from citizens/voters still go a long way in DC. Keep it up!
