Good news, friends! Republican Army veteran Matt Van Epps has defeated a dastardly Dem, a real leftie in sheep's clothing, in the special election in Tennessee's 7th Congressional district. Democrats felt that they could make the race competitive, despite the district's strongly red character, and to a point they did. Republicans had to put forth maximum effort and spend lots of money, but they still won handily -- by about 9 points. Democrats and progressives will try to spin this loss into a win, but don't buy the hype. Republicans and conservatives still stand by President Trump, no matter what the mainstream media would have you believe. The GOP also still controls the House, and we have lots of opportunities to shore up our popular support before fall 2026. This win is a good start!

In closely related news, Florida is planning to redraw its House districts before those all-important midterm elections in 2026, and that could easily net Republicans a good-sized handful of seats. Go, DeSantis!

Finally, the Left and the media have been pushing a number of (pathetic and misleading) narratives lately, including that Pete Hegseth likes to kill the wounded in his free time. Another story that some of them are keen on is that Trump is on his last legs, either physically or mentally -- or maybe both! Trump's recent MRI results would seem to undercut that bit of slander, but I expect the Dems to keep grasping at straws nonetheless. That's par for the course.

RAY TO DR. WADDY
ReplyDeleteThought I would get my two (2) cents in, even thought the government has quit making pennies.
It's probably too early, although I tend to think not, but 2028 will be a
crucial year in U.S. politics, with Trump leaving. What then?
Will JD Vance be able to handle the country? What's scary, is that Gavin Newsom is probably going to run for President. Compared to Harris, and those of her ilk, Newsom is a true believer, and a well spoken and nice looking guy. He's also smart, and because he is smart, he is dangerous.
Dr. Waddy from Jack: What a relief: I thought I saw a report last night that that presumptuous commie was ahead.
ReplyDeleteThese incipiently totalitarian low lifes still think they can flim flam the South. Yeah, they have forced their contagion on Virginia but they've succeeded only because so many of the "fashionable" leftist persuasion have invaded northern and coastal parts of the "Old Dominion" from unfortunately near by DC and Maryland.
The South and the Mt. West are the two most dependably patriotic regions of our country. And I think it entirely possible that especially the more populous South will lead in the redemption of our country from the catagion of euphemistically disguised Marxism.
The decisive battle is now joined. It has been ever since the election of a courageously and unflappably anti far left President. Oh, these tragically wrong headed dissemblers got so very close in 2016. Their darling would undoubtedly have led them to near dominance by now and she was stopped only by the all unlooked for advent of an American for whom she foolishly manifested withering and dismissive contempt fully congruent with that she retains for any who question her justice.
I am confident that the essential South will stand against this invasion as they have always done and this time their cause will be graced with righteousness.
RAY TO JACK
DeleteI like your last sentence, in that what you refer to as "the essential South" really will save the day. However, as far as the Mt. West goes, don't count on Colorado.
Dr. Waddy from Jack: What the hell would those draft dodger supporters know about combat?! Sec. Hegseth DOES know, the only way you CAN know: from being IN IT! We know these far left/Dems think everything is government's business (when they are in charge) and they think they are right on everything. They've sure got their nerve trying to gainsay a war vet but then that is nothing new. To their everlasting shame they ran a draft dodging hater of the military for President against two genuine WWII heros. He wouldn't have been elected if they hadn't nominated him.
ReplyDeleteDr. Waddy from Jack: Florida and its redoubtable Governor are the gift which keeps on giving to our country. They have been indomitable supporters of our great President ever since he was elected to this term. And if America does expunge the curse of Marxism this generous state leader will be due much thanks for it. He's setting a solid example, especially in a U.S. shamed by the likes of Pritzker , Hochul and Newsom .
ReplyDeleteDr. Waddy from Jack: The far left/Dem ploy to work Clintonian preemption of the issue of the President's physical and mental competence after they set a neo El Cid (the medieval Spanish leader who after his death was said to have been fastened to a horse to lead an epic charge) in the White House and shamelessly excused his proximity to the nuclear "football": its pathetic!
ReplyDeleteThey themselves afforded DJT an opportunity to prove his astonishing resilience by directing their lawfare savagery on him. A maniac inspired by their calumny shot him and all American saw how heroically and swiftly he recovered . Those lamebrains got him elected that day! Let them batter themselves to pieces belaboring this issue.
Ray, I quite agree that Newsom is extremely dangerous, and a formidable adversary. I think he could run a good race against Vance. Of course, there's a lot of ground to cover between now and 2028, so I have no idea who would prevail. My advice to Republicans is: bend the democratic curve as much as you can, i.e. reapportion the votes in the electoral college to reflect eligible voters and not anyone and everyone, require integrity in the voting process, and attack any funding source that the Left and the Democrats have that is illegitimate, criminal, or subversive.
ReplyDeleteJack, you are right that the South, as a whole, is as dependable as we could ask it to be, but a lot comes down to how you draw the districts... Assuming we redo the Census and reapportion the seats, AND we eliminate any requirement to maximize the number of blacks in Congress, we could restructure House elections, especially in the South, in such a way that the Dems would be hard pressed to ever take the majority again. Those are two big "ifs".
Florida was a precariously balanced purple state not so long ago, so its, uhh, enlightenment and redemption are nothing less than miraculous. Sure, DeSantis did his part, but there are variables to this massive transformation that I still don't entirely comprehend. The demographics, after all, look pretty bad for the GOP, but we've won the day regardless. I very much look forward to Florida's House delegation, incoming in January 2027! I think we're going to love it.
Yes, accusing Trump of senility probably won't work on anyone except the leftist true believers. Speaking of which, I met one recently who feels that Vance is a lightweight and "dumb". Wow! That's the kind of alienation from reality that only a progressive can manage, bless their hearts...
Ray from Jack: Yes, the descent of Colorado into Kaliforniacation is a sad development; there remain so many of common sense there.
ReplyDeleteToo many kindred spirits have been left behind enemy lines! Heck, I'm one of them.
