The Future Is Now(ish)

Friends, Time magazine, which I guess is still a thing, has named the "Architects of A.I." as its Person of the Year, which kinda makes sense, given all the hype around A.I., but what this means is that Elon Musk is co-Person of the Year, and who saw that coming after his brief, cozy relationship with DJT, and then the nasty breakup between them???  I guess the bottom line is that changes in technology are fundamentally transforming the nature of human civilization, and in many ways the "nerds" are now more relevant than the politicians.  Is that good news or bad?  You decide.

The U.S. has seized a great big oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela, and the message is clear: we will no longer look the other way when rogue states engage in illegal, illegitimate trade.  More to the point, Venezuelan President Maduro's days may be numbered.  Let's hope so.

Finally, U.S. immigration policy sure has undergone a sea change in the last ten months!  600,000+ illegals have been deported, and maybe as many as two million have self-deported.  These are huge numbers, and they're having measurable effects on the job market, housing prices, etc.  Meanwhile, the Trump Adiministration is smoothing the path for rich foreigners to come live (and spend) in the USA, which is okay by me.  Sure, we need the numbers to stay manageable, but wealthy investors are an asset to this country, in a way that aspiring fry cooks and welfare queens are not.  Keep up the good work, Don!

  1. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Its very revealing to think that DJT was once a Dem., until that party left him and so many others of common sense. But now his dutiful support for our Immigration Law is enough to give any far left/Dem and , regrettably , people of good will who still "feel" bound to support them, paroxysms of futile virtue signaling and the unendurable offense of having their" irrefutable " wisdom not only openly faulted but actually insolently countered!

President Trump not only has well conceived new ideas (in sharp contrast to the airy and always catastrophic smoky dorm room dreams urged by radicals with such disdainful and viciously grim enthusiasm) but he has the moxie to carry them out. Unlike so many on the far left, who have sojourned in dreamy detachment and consequent thought control in the shamefully degraded American academy , his career in the very real world of high stakes NYC real estate and, most importantly, his heroic endurance of unprecedented castigation and physical threat since he rose to the national scene, has manifested an administration tempered by adversity which would have destroyed any lesser a man. He has a consequently well developed sense of what works and what doesn't work (or which works great evil). For a far left which bases all its convictions on an unproven , fatuously and foolishly imagined future, he is their worst nightmare.

"Why , how dare he suggest that millionaires are often very hard working and productive assets to a relatively free economy? And that the 'people'(of which the far left knows only what it imagines outside the campus or the "community organizers' "Che" decorated storefront )benefit far more from the investments, the productive experience and the job creation they generate than from any far leftist smoky dreamer casually and presumptuously living off of intimidated government largesse?! Why he encourages their imposition on the 'people' only from desire for their obsequious attendance upon him in the extravaganzas he intends for his expanded White House palace!" Such is the thinking of the emotionally ravaged far leftist mind in this tortuously incorrect time.

  2. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Fox reported today that China has achieved a level of production of electricity which enabled to advance the use of A. I. faster than us or anyone. Maybe they will bring the 2000 year old terra cotta warriors of China's first Emperor to very life and scare the world into "kou tou" (kowtowing, as we say it).

  4. Dr. Waddy from Jack: This superlative President we have has worked astonishingly effective reversal of a purposefully , successfully and massive destructive tactic presumed upon us by the Biden administration's dominant far left cadre. They knew they had an obsequious factotum in that doddering old fool and they took full "revolutionary" advantage of that fortune. President Trump has gotten squarely into their cynical game , a grave injustice they unapologetically worked both on America and myriad unfortunates seeking a better life in a prosperous and just country. And he has blown it all to hell! And that in the face of withering castigation backed by a pusillanimous MSM and demonstrated with savage antipathy by a terribly offended and disgraced far left/Dem atavistic mob. Of all people , Donald Trump fully appreciates the unbridled hate he faces for daring to thwart them and doing it with "happy warrior" aplomb!

Fully enabled illegal immigration was an intended staggering body blow to an America upon which "American" radicals intend all the punishment and immolation they hold due to willful heretics. President Trump is stopping them in their tracks with breathtaking dispatch and a political competence which the far left/Dems yet disdain, at their own richly deserved folly and ever more decisive discreditation.

  5. Dr. Waddy from Jack: I think America is the most powerful country in the history of the world and the most benevolently principled. Those who have or still do regard power alone as "justice" have dared to venture our demonstrated ability to stop them only when they have perceived that we lack the will to use it. President Trump is fully aware of this and unapologetically uses our enormous capability for decisive prevention of amoral dictatorships about their characteristic oppression of their unlucky peoples, especially when their evil is extended to our country or to a valued ally like Israel.

The Venezuelan regime appears to have used Marxist ideology in an especially vicious and cynical manner simply to advance its own material and voluptuary well being at the ( ho hum) cost of a ruined economy. The last Nobel Peace Prize honored a Venezuelan dissident who stands ready to help redeem that tortured country if our President's declared intention to overthrow the thugs who rule it succeeds. Uhh, I think it will succeed. Yes, his effort is first and foremost to defend our country from the Venezuelan regime's willingness to work enormous harm on us by exporting murderous drugs to us (profiting Los Jefes enormously)and supporting outlaw regimes such as Iran. But like so many past U.S. actions we are "incidentally" working the deliverance of a people from the domination of heartless monsters. Funny how it turns out that way so often yes?

  6. Dr. Waddy from Jack: What a striking illustration; the essential "talking head". Can this presage the ubiquitous imaging of "Dear Leaders" with which humanity was cursed in the 20th century?

  7. Jack, from one narrow perspective, DJT might want to to think twice about importing millionaires -- because most people of means are Trump haters, and very influential and effective Trump haters at that! Of course, immigrant millionaires might actually VALUE what America has to offer them, which would make them natural Republicans.

Good point, Jack, that the people of Venezuela and the members of Trump's NSC are working towards the same objectives: freedom, lawful commerce, anti-communism, prosperity under capitalist aegises, etc. The last thing Donald Trump wants to be doing is projecting American power abroad, but sometimes a little American power goes a long way, and in this case if we keep worrying at Maduro we could bring deliverance, of a sort, not only to his people, but to the people of the entire region, who have had to deal with the spillover of Venezuelan misrule.

  8. Dr. Waddy from Jack:Ours is very often "the flag that sets you free" and what other country can come close to deserving such credit?
