Bing Bang Boom!

Friends, today there's good news and bad news, much like every day, come to think of it.  Today we learned that the Trump economy is BOOMING, notching 4.3% growth in the third quarter and exceeding all expectations.  That's something to celebrate, no?  And it's sure to filter down to almost all Americans in the long term, since a rising tide lifts all boats, generally speaking.  But there's bad news too.  Consumer confidence, by one measure, actually went down simultaneously, and consumer sentiment was really dragging already.  What do we learn from this strange confluence of data points?  Simple.  We learn that Trump is doing a terrific job as the chief steward of the U.S. economy.  We also learn, however, that the mainstream media and leftists in general are doing a great job of spoiling America's fun and convincing their fellow Americans that, in reality, everything sucks and times have never been so tough.  Trump is pushing back on this false narrative, of course, but he can only do so much.  The Trump haters have plenty of powerful megaphones of their own, and they live, almost literally, in an alternate reality where economic pain totally overshadows economic progress.  And most of them are rich and doing just fine!  Perception is everything, and we need to work harder to get the majority of Americans to realize, before it's too late, how good they have it.

  1. Dr. Waddy from Jack: The national average price for gas is $2.85! The Dow has departed the atmosphere. We are drilling baby, drilling and I expect lots of people are regaining the well being , generated by good paying jobs, which was snatched from them by climate addled Biden .Nuclear power is emerging from the fog of decades long dreamy far leftist obscurantism! President Trump is a deal maker nonpareil! The "American" far left is imperiously unmoved!

For them , prosperity equals injustice and erring human nature can and should be forced into a perfection which necessarily suppresses any notion of profit. Any doubt of this "verity" is gross heresy justifying "any means necessary" to destroy it and those who unwisely maintain it.

Reality check: I believe, either President Coolidge or President Hoover said ,"the business of America is business". That is being spectacularly reaffirmed today by this businessman President. And lest the radicals dissolve in a welter of outrage at this, belief in it does not rule out well founded charity. Our country is proven the most benevolent big power ever. We are not absolutists like that now deservedly beleagured faction which apparently can't get out of its own way in its insistence on reflexive and perfect allegiance to its irrefutable truth and justice.

Bring on more business leaders in government!

  3. Dr. Waddy from Jack: And might I be as presumptuous as to add: may the good old customs and songs of this glowing time be of enjoyment! So very many of them are readily available on line, ranging from medieval to the present day.

  4. Oh, Jack -- this economy has only begun to soar! When you ponder all the various stimuli that Trump has introduced to support further economic expansion, the potential upside is...overwhelming! I guess the question is...how high does growth need to be for it to be impossible for even Democrats to notice it??? Pretty high, I'd wager.

  5. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Once it becomes undeniable they will simply preempt it; claim it as their accomplishment in the very face of Trumpian "fascism"
