There They Go Again...

Friends, those of us who are, uhh, "seasoned" will remember several occasions when Angelenos, or at least a sizable proportion thereof, went berzerk.  The riots of 1992 come to mind, in particular.  Well, anger at ICE has apparently reached critical mass in the City of Angels, such that street battles have broken out and DJT has felt the need to send in the National Guard to restore order.  Democrats are aghast, although, since there hasn't been a single moment in the last ten years when lefties weren't aghast, that isn't saying much.  I applaud Trump's aggressive response to this unrest, which compares favorably to his muted reaction to the much more serious riots of the summer of 2020.  Trump seems to have concluded that, if the Dems want to take the side of hooligans and maniacs over policemen and servicemen, so be it.  That will only confirm in the minds of decent, law-abiding Americans that Democrats and leftists don't really believe in, or root for, AMERICA at all.  I tend to see it the same way.

  1. Dr. Waddy from Jack: A commentator cited from either MSNBC or CNN by Fox expressed great suspicion about ICE's apparent concentration on dem run cities and states. It was a comical crack in a way.

Uhh, I suppose It makes perfect sense for law enforcement to go to the places which offer sanctuary to illegals , yes? That expeditiously realistic quality alone may condemn it in the eyes of the reflexively counterintuitive (2+2 = 5) radicals who manage the dem party. DJT's onslaught on illegal immigration is a haymaker to the chin of their dream of totalitarian rule.

By the way ,kudos to Tom Homan and Christie Noem . Their matter of fact miens on what is in store for those who flout Immigration Law, backed as it is already by ACTION , must be giving the dems plenty of maalox moments and 2am fidgets! No more Executive Branch RINOS around to manipulate(oh the pity)!Homan is a tough looking guy who puts the skeer in the "touchy feely" types. He's been waiting a long hard time to help right what he knows from experience is profound wrong done by the Biden administration to America. Takes alot of guts to face down the vicious radicals who have so threatened America's common sense leaders. Noem says it really simply: "comply with our laws or be penalized. If you don't like our laws , then work to change them using the peaceful and free means our democracy affords". Of course the frantic and emotionally propelled far left "feels" such restraint to be excruciating. "We are infallibly just; if you deny us our every whim, you wrong us!! " And neither one of these stalwarts has any illusions about who is energetically organizing such as the LA riots; the same old professional radical left America haters as always.

  2. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Our country may be in a watershed moment. Are we going to continue to coddle these vicious rootless brats and their dessicated lifetime far left Svengalis or are we going to treat them as their anarchic behavior warrants? Are we going to continue excusing their contemptuous ravaging of the neighborhoods and persons of the law abiding or give them the repulse an able, self respecting country gives to its enemies? Are we going to affirm the rule of law or spinelessly betray it?

Sometimes we take "tolerance" too far in the good old U.S.. We do it with good will but often without prudent attention to the onerous realityof people who thrive on cynical manipulation of the principled. Criminals are a good example of this but so are these politically warped and morally bereft savages of the kind now at tantrum in LA.

Finally we have a President who simply refuses to countenance this baloney and he has empowered hombres, like Homan and Noel, to see that it is MET, firmly, decisively, with appropriate force and no apology. He has authorized a demonstration of Federal force, to the horrified chagrin of perhaps the most discredited Governor in the country. I'm confident he will up the ante if these barbarians are as foolish as to require it of him.

This far left mob which has polluted our civilization beyond measure since the '60s may well have met its match and may well be on the cusp of comeuppance. Their elders who chose to corrode from within knew this was coming if DJT was redeemed. That's why they went to such hyperbolically desperate lengths to ruin him. Now they are "for it" ; they may be about to reap what they have so hatefully sown, from an America belatedly convinced of their totalitarian intent and led by a man fully the better of these evil dreamers.

  3. Dr. Waddy from Jack: OK, like any dem, when Newsom doesn't get what he wants from the voters he goes whimpering "mommy - daddy style" to the Judiciary. And of course, in California he'll easily find a cooperative Federal District Court judge who will "order" the President to stand down in LA. Then the crunch will come. . . .

You opined recently that President Trumps has two choices in dealing with the unsustainable nationwide limitations imposed on his reforms by Federal Judges from anywhere. He can get Scotus to impose common sense limits on their injunctive power or he can ignore them. With LA under onslaught by opportunistic radicals and even the Corps on the scene, I really don't think our President is going to leave the barbarians in charge.

Now that may well be seen by prodigal far leftist Newsom as a desirable ancillary effect of his reflexive resort to the Judiciary; you know - "authoritarianism!" and all. He better get used to it; he's going to see very much more resolve from this President.

And oh yes , Newsom is "shocked - SHOCKED!" at the very thought of a Governor being arrested. But a once and possibly future President who HAD to be prevented from returning?

"Well now, nobody is above the law, harrumph!" ; just ask Newsom's ideological bedfellows Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg and NY AG Letitia James . Besides, atavistic primitive southern Governors who WOULD have been arrested if they hadn't acceded to Federal force in the late '50s and early '60s are one thing; but a laid back Californian ?! Bummer! Pore 'ol Gavin: he tried "moderate" for awhile but it just wasn't his thing. He needs to take it easy, he's never going to be President after this.

The"American" neomarxist far left in power would be capable of imposing anything at any time on its captive population. Look at the 20th century: Lenin: "Oh btw Koba (Stalin's affectionate nickname) go over to this area and hang 5000 peasants while you are at it", then, the New Economic Policy, then murderous collectivization, then kill all the "faithful" old Bolsheviks and the experienced Generals, but no then "fight hard for old Mother Russia." How about "a just and redeemed China", then "backyard blast furnaces and a Great Leap Forward" into absolute destitution and famine, then "let a thousand ways of thought contend", then savage repression, then let youth run wild against "revisionists" including veterans of the Long March and scholars, then "struggle against Confucius and Lin Piao(Mao's best General)" etc , etc ad nauseum.

And this is the pattern being followed by the antiamerican far left: whatever "feels" right at any one time. Now the Immigration issue is their vehicle for comprehensive empowerment. Why just yesterday 'human generated global warming" was their fad. Should they ever govern us they would continue in this manner. They assume their infallibility; therefore whatever hare brained "plan" they embrace is unimpeachable. That is, until they jump to the next one at their pleasure.

  4. Dr. Waddy from Jack: How, pray, does looting constitute legitimate political protest? It seems to attend all mass demonstrations organized and managed by the far left. But gee, they are the one unassailably just faction of our otherwise grievously imperfect civilization. How terrible that people of less than good will are attracted to the disorder which the sainted far left nevertheless foments in its public righteousness. Shakespeare described the type when he has Othello lament upon " flies which in the summer shambles (slaughterhouses) quicken even with blowing".

Or is it that "American" radicals actually seek the support of the lawless in creating the disorder and dysfunction they need to end history with marxist perfection? I think some on the far left see criminals as a "revolutionary class". Of course history shows us what happens to ALL classes when the "elect "take over. Its ok, they would make short work of street trash, as do all totalitarian regimes. I fear that's the way it really is and that the foot soldiers of these "transformative " phenomena are simply opportunistic thugs cynically employed by professional dreamers with effete souls.

A commentator today said "what do these demonstrators do for a living? Do they work? Where does the funding come for such mass action? " Could it be that up until now, they have received tax payer financed largesse presumed so expendable by previous "enlightened" Administrations?

  5. Jack, I find it easy to comprehend why ICE might go to a place like Los Angeles looking for illegals... In fact, there are few better places to look (maybe Beverly Hills?)!!!

I too like the cut of Homan and Noem's jib. Nonetheless, telling off the lefties and the sanctuary crowd is one thing. Slapping the cuffs on them is quite another. Thus far, the Dems don't look very intimidated to me.

Jack, your summary of the communists' wild changes of direction under Stalin, Mao, et al. was as insightful as it was amusing. Note, though, that the communist elite got away with almost all these whoppers, and Stalin and Mao literally got away with mass murder and plenty else besides. I only point this out to remind you that Newsom may be morally bankrupt, intellectually indefensible, and politically naive, but he could, in fact, lurch dozens of times between "moderation" and leftist purity from now until 2028 and STILL be viable as a potential president. Most Americans EXPECT a president to be a hypocrite and a liar, after all. I feel like Newsom could deliver those goods, and in an appealing package, too!

It's an interesting question what sort of person dons a mask and sets a car on fire in downtown LA, waving a Mexican flag all the while... I sincerely hope we get some answers, and that these troublemakers are held to account.

  6. Dr. Waddy from Jack: You are right; Newsom could get nominated. But I think his national prospects would be comparable to those of McGovern, Dukakis after his tank ride or Mondale . He outdoes Clinton in gooey smarminess and he may lack Clinton's guile.

  7. Oh, I think he's very capable of losing, but, alas, no Democrat nowadays is going to get creamed like McGovern or Dukakis. The country is just too finely balanced for that. To put it another way, any Democrat, no matter how extreme or feckless, has a chance to win in '28. We shouldn't kid ourselves.
