Friends, I'm sure you join me in wishing our beloved and indefatigable leader, President Donald J. Trump, a very happy 79th birthday! He'll be celebrating with a big military parade tonight put on by the U.S. Army, which is, in turn, celebrating 250 years of faithful service to the American people. Liberals are OUTRAGED, as usual, that soldiers would have the temerity to march down the street, but I suspect it will be a fun and memorable occasion. There are "No Kings" protests scheduled to occur throughout the nation today, giving lefties a chance to show the flag as well. It'll be a classic juxtaposition of uniformed, disciplined, patriotic soldiers and scruffy, ascerbic, and possibly violent dissidents. In a word, what could be more AMERICAN, am I right?

U.S. Senator Alex Padilla is having a field day portraying himself as a victim of Trumpian tyranny, but as this article demonstrates he was anything but. He's lucky to have escaped prosecution for his stunt, and I hope his luck runs out in that regard, and soon!
In other news, the rumors of an Israeli strike on Iran were...true, as rumors sometimes are! Well well. Of course, we all remember that Israel and Iran exchanged blows last year around this time, but these strikes are considerably heavier, and it looks as though they might continue for weeks. The interesting question is: can Iran respond in any truly effective fashion? It can lob missiles and drones at Israel, sure, but almost all of them will miss, and thus no significant damage to Israel will be done. It could also vent its rage at international shipping in the Gulf, and that could shut down that critical waterway, restrict the flow of oil, and engender a global recession. What's more, Israel seems to realize that airstrikes can't end Iran's nuclear program, which may already have created enough highly enriched uranium for numerous bombs. We don't know for sure. Thus, playing the military card in this way is meant, in the end, to force Iran to the bargaining table and achieve a deal that will involve the voluntary termination of the country's nuclear program. As much as the fur is flying now, therefore, the lines of communication need to stay open. Basically, the Iranians need to "learn their lesson". Will they? Stay tuned!
Finally, don't neglect to tune into this week's Newsmaker Show, featuring an extended discussion with Yours Truly! Brian and I cover Gov. Hochul's hostile reception in Congress, the prospect for LA-style riots across the country, RFK's firing of the entire vaccine review panel at the Department of Health and Human Services, the fate of David Hogg, erstwhile DNC Vice-Chair, the shocking departure of Karine Jean-Pierre from the Democratic Party, the strategic significance of Ukraine's attack on Russia's nuclear bomber force, and the inherent difficulties in resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict. It's a hearty meal of fresh, juicy political insights!
Dr. Waddy from Jack: Well I wonder how attendance was at the glorious "No Kings" events. Whadda they have against Charles the 3rd anyway? I know, I'll check out MSNBC .
ReplyDeleteMust have been a kick for aging Vietnam era America haters. Oh, "the way we were!"
Dr. Waddy from Jack: The BBC article quoted Ehud Ohlmert to the effect that a two or three year setback for Iran's bomb quest would be enough and that "ultimately" an agreement must be made.
ReplyDeleteI doubt that that is the goal of Israel's command. I think they are demonstrating that "ultimately" is NOW. Besides, how could an "agreement" with the blindly hateful Iranian regime be worth a fig?
I think this is Israel's final push for relief from unrelenting atavistic threat and I think they will keep turning up the heat until Iran caves in. Apparently the Israelis are able to kill any specific Iranian leader at will and with harrowing accuracy. Enough of that and who will be alive to keep the hate machine running.
There has been creditable commentary today that a continued physical threat to Iran's oppressive theocratic regime and perhaps its oil production may convince Iranians that their government is incapable of leading them. Israel would be wise to continue eliminating the Iranian leadership and steering away from harming blameless Iranians. Free of their government's incalculably fanatic , neomedieval determination to annihilate an Israel which refuses to be Holocausted again, Iranian's could use trade based on their oil wealth to make their lives much better. I'll bet most of them are as bone weary of this conflict as are Israelis. But they lack Israel's "unconquerable constancy".
RAY TO DR. WADDY
ReplyDeleteHad Jimmy "NumbNuts" Carter acted as he should have in 1979, Iran as it is might not have existed. Now Israel has to go do the job that should have been done many years ago. Think about it! Carter should have stayed out of politics and stuck with peanut farming and teaching Sunday school. His legacy has come home to roost.
Dr. Waddy from Jack: With the destruction they are enduring now, I'm convinced that Israel is more determined than ever to make this the final fight. Has their missile defense been breached by sheer numbers? Will we get more closely involved? May the God of Israel stand by them! They will win, I'm confident, but its yet another grim test for this courageous much tried people.
ReplyDeleteDr. Waddy from Jack: A radio commentator today thought he had heard that Pres. Trump knew in advance of the Israeli attack and publicly flim-flammed about "well, I'd rather Israel not attack Iran" in order to mislead Iran. As intensely America hateful as the Iranian regime is, it was predictable that, in accordance with America's frequently enacted and much derided, apologetic stance , they assumed that he meant it. But no, this consummate player we now have as President has no misgivings about applying "any means necessary " when it is, well, necessary! And that is very bad news for the cynical powers , foreign or domestic, who have heretofore flourished by exploiting America's naive expressed self doubts.
ReplyDeleteThis world is still plagued by regimes and proliferated doctrines as very willing to exterminate even those who use a different holy book to address God or as skilled at corrupting a democracy with historically proven catastrophic incipiently totalitarian internal divisions as those which bustle even today, in 2025, when human machines have exited the Solar System! It takes a cool character, such as the one we elected last year ,to face this reality foresquare and to unapologetically guide the U.S. in realistically facing it.
Dr. Waddy from Jack: Now there is some speculation that Iran might hustle to build a nuke right now. One factor that I haven't heard discussed and unless the Iranians are completely insane must be a prime consideration for them: if they nuke Israel, Israel's response would almost certainly be unendurably devastating for them. Iran doesn't have the skill Israel has in pinpoint targeting so there is no way they could eliminate Israel's nuclear arsenal.
ReplyDeleteDr. Waddy from Jack: Yesterday AOC was shown during one of her frantic bugeyed public harangues predicting that if Cuomo is elected Mayor he will seek the Presidency. Gads, I hate to think I agree with her on anything. Perhaps during one of her regular perusals of WaddyisRight she saw my prediction of Cuomo doing that. Yes, that has to be it. Whaaat have I done!?
ReplyDeleteDr. Waddy from Jack: Re the Newsmaker broadcast: Thanx for including Rep. Langworthy's confrontation of our Gov. Hochul's grudging and prevaricating reply to his question "do you think murderers and rapists should have a way to legally remain in our country? Your policies appear to support this( "right"). She reminded me of Harvard's erstwhile President when she tried to hide behind a corkscrew and was taken to task in person by our Rep. Stefanik. I'm going to guess that her appearance, together with her fellow sullen gubernatorial illegals enablers was not voluntary. Good for our NY GOP Reps! At least our Dem beleagured state is doing some good for America.
ReplyDeleteDr. Waddy from Jack: I think whatever the Pres. needs to expend to return our Immigration enforcement to integrity should be free of the budgetary process. Its a vital national defense measure.
ReplyDeleteHow right you were in noting how science can be manipulated. The Nazi's and Commies did it (TD Lysenko, Stalins terrified science factotum and the German concentration camp doctors ). We have a telling example of it in the U.S. with the far left's usage of objectively unsettled "climate science" to justify all manner of incipiently totalitarian measures . Pres. Trump is right to invoke common sense
means against this sophistry. RFK Jr, very possibly yet another brilliant DJT cabinet choice , is right to attack enforced conformity in science research, its "results" and in counterproductive badly considered action which causes incalculable dysfunction.
The Dems exiling of David Hogg. There are several layers of irony in this. My opinion is formed, no disrespect meant to younger commentators, from having experienced "60s politics .
The Dem "establishment" which apparently cannot abide Hogg's criticism of their "gerontocracy": they were the David Hoggs of the '60s. After trashing their parents, dodging the draft, spitting on Vietnam vets and police , losing to Pres. Nixon twice and approaching the age of 30, they decided to corrode the hated "system" from within. Some of them are still there and doing that. Their views haven't changed since the '60s but their subversive methods have.
Now they are being outradicaled by young punks who show the intense disdain for America they gloried in during the Age of Aquarius.
Dr. Waddy from Jack: Very intriguing thoughts you expressed on dems jumping ship. If Hogg goes he might take alot of "neo radicals " with him. NY Mayor Eric Adams was on Fox and he's among the notables saying "my party left me" lately. Hope alot more jump. The dems haven't begun to repair the damage they did themselves in '24.
ReplyDeleteTheir strategy is , only, to reflexively excoriate Pres. Trump. Sure has worked out good for them. Oh they can still put boisterous crowds on the street and strive to ruin his big days as they tried , pathetically, last Saturday. And they are doing "make work" for underemployed anarchists and professional low lifes in LA. But they ain't getting him down and common sense America is with him (we better be , he's unique).
Hogg already has one vital far left credential: take a legitimate cause, like preventing the horror he experienced in a school shooting, and propose sweeping measures (like disarming Americans) which effect mainly those not responsible for the offense, (law abiding gun owners)and which show no concern for the innocent caught in their net. The climate crazies have already honed that skill with their attempted reconstruction of our civilization and their disdain for consideration of possible negative consequences of the dreams they try to force on us. No doubt after his apprenticeship Hogg will branch out into who knows what impassioned , emotionally motivated far left quests for America's "deserved" "fundamental punishment and transformation" to an ant hill.
Dr. Waddy from Jack: Good question: why did Ukraine strike at one of Russia's main means of delivering nukes Were elements of our national defense apparatus behind it without the President's knowledge?
ReplyDeleteThe thought is appalling: we need to stick with this President and not undermine him. He's doing long overdue good for our country.
Yes, attendance figures can be, and usually are, manipulated, but the best estimates I've seen indicate that somewhere around 5 million Americans partook in the No Kings silliness. That's 335 million who didn't, so you and I are in the (vast) majority, Jack!
ReplyDeleteNo argument here about the notion that Iranians would be immeasurably better off if they cast off the theocrats. Easier said than done, of course, and Israel's campaign runs the risk of strengthening the mullahs' hand. It will be interesting to see how the hoi polloi in Iran react. I don't expect regime change in the coming days, but the coming months...maybe.
Ray, I couldn't agree more that the current Iranian regime never should have been allowed to take power. SO MUCH MISCHIEF flowed from that foreign policy failure. Most unfortunate.
Jack, I don't see much point to an Iranian nuclear strike against Israel, unless the mullahs want to go out in a blaze of glory. Frankly, I doubt their capacity to deliver a nuke anyway. The vast majority of their missiles and drones get intercepted. If they build one nuke and launch it, the likelihood is that it will land in pieces in Jordan, not intact in Israel. Talk about an anticlimax. No, I think the reality is that Iran can't do anything effective in response to Israel's "aggression", and that makes the Iranian regime look pathetic in the extreme.
Jack, the fact that you and AOC are now in perfect alignment -- on one issue -- should give you pause. Personally, I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. If we get to TWO issues someday, then the conservative klaxons will begin to sound!
Believe it or not, Hochul appeared voluntarily at that Congressional hearing! Maybe she thought she was attending a fundraiser?
Some Dems may be jumping ship, yes, and some may be questioning their future in a party that gets less and less "democratic" all the time, BUT what we haven't yet seen is a truly viable left-wing party or movement that puts up candidates to compete against the Dems. If some of these malcontents joined the Greens, say, things could get interesting... We who support Trump should do everything in our power to see that the Left divides and stays divided.
Dr. Waddy from Jack The BBC article said the "No KIngs" people's actions coincided with the Army parade. But they were over in the east in time for much of the mob to get to DC in time to do disruption and America hatred. They refrained; not out of new found patriotism but because they knew they would be castigated. Funny how these neopopulists were skeered of a very popular event and the love of country it manifested.
ReplyDeleteThis country has changed much for the better since the Vietnam era. Then the Army parade would not even have been attempted. Such was the still shocking contempt for our armed forces which was freely demonstrated by so many "Americans". Equally shocking was the apparent widespread failure of the big veteran's organizations to stand up to this ( eg. setting a physical barrier in airports between servicemen returning from green hell and supposedly "antiwar "brats who sought to expectorate on and taunt the returnees. That outrage is impossible these days.
The "No Kings" types and their assault force in LA are a demonstrative minority of Americans the core of which is professional Marxists, anarchists and worker ant low life's. Yeah, there are people of good will among them but they keep bad company.
I misplaced my above on "No KIngs" I meant it in response to your next post. Jack
ReplyDeleteIt's true, Jack, that the military is generally held in high esteem, but note that the Left still found a way to be mortified by the notion of an Army parade!
