Good News: Your Number May Be Up, But The Woodland Critters Are Thriving!

Friends, leave it to the tree-huggers and the warmed-over hippies: they've found a ray of sunshine in all the coronavirus gloom.  They see the massive industrial/economic contraction now gripping the planet as a net plus, which could accustom us to a more "sustainable" lifestyle going forward.  Some of them also look approvingly on the rigid countermeasures many governments are taking -- and the unthinking compliance of hundreds of millions of loyal citizens.  Could this unprecedented mobilization to fight a pandemic be a precedent for even greater sacrifices...to stave off climate change?  Keep your eye on the ball, conservatives, because you better believe the Left will squeeze every advantage out of this public health emergency that it can.

Thanks to the New York Daily News for hosting my latest tour de force!

  1. Right you are Dr. Waddy, no pun intended. The Left loves getting rid of people. After all, Stalin used to be one of their favorite dictators (since out of favor, and replaced by China), because he (Stalin) was famous for liquidating counter-revolutionaries and enemies of the people and the state.

In fact, by the time the leftist media pimps get done with this pandemic, the causes will be linked to toxic emissions and climate change, and will have nothing at all to do with China. Don't forget that the greatest hope of all leftist a**holes is for the world to be populated only by those of their ilk, and all others must be liquidated.

  2. Dr. Waddy Stand by, I will be sending in one of my best leftist undercover agents into your state soon to organize another 1969 type Woodstock Festival. Besides the usual drugs and sex orgies we will be serving Corona Burgers without virus of course.

  3. Ray, thanks for the advance warning about Woodstock II. You had me at "sex orgies"!

The commentator in my article who half-seriously applauded the death of so many old people -- those geezers just MUST vote Tory, CDU, or Republican, mustn't they? -- speaks for more leftists than you might think. A lot of liberals have been looking forward to a demographic victory over us reactionaries. They see a browning of America, and a gradual subsidence of the Greatest Generation and even of crotchety Boomers, and they perceive...opportunity! They aren't entirely wrong either.

    1. Dr. Waddy In my personal opinion there was never a Great Generation in this country. As you well know, this is of course a term coined to describe those Americans who went through the Depression and then served in World War 2, and the Boomers of course were the byproducts of the ones who survived WW 2, and of course a lot of spoiled and bratty boomers became the Hippies. And now most generations have something in common. They all gawk at their damn Smart Phones, constantly.

If there ever was a great generation anywhere, my personal choice for such a label should be superimposed on those Eastern Europeans (Yes, I'm Eurocentric), who were betrayed by The United States and Great Britain at The Yalta Conference in 1945, and then later the same year at Potsdam. These people (like the young Poles in the Home Army) who had fought the Nazis, then had to grow old and survive under the Communists for 50 years.

Anyway, all I will ever have to say to left wingers anywhere is FookU! No don't delete that please, I'm serious.

One good thing about all this, if it can be called that, is that left or right everyone gets to die. No exceptions. And when anyone looks at a gravestone, they have no idea, and could care less whether your ideology was right or left. And here is a grim note (sorry in advance), but most of us won't even be a footnote in history, while entire books for a very long time to come will either praise or denigrate a**holes like The Clintons.

Sorry for this morbid post, but I really don't feel morbid now that I have posted it.

But there are a lot of good people out there, and all that keeps me cheered up.

  4. On a rethink, I believe there was a Greatest Generation in this United States of America, and that would be the generation of the people that founded this country. I'm speaking of people like Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Adams, and those of their calibre. Are there any people like them today in this country? Well, if there are, they are certainly not any politicians that I can see. What I do see are a bunch of low grade fools. How did we deteriorate that we end up with people like Schiff, Schumer, Nadler, Pelosi and on and on. MY GOD! That's not to mention trash like Omar Ilan and AOC. Shows how low we have sunk since a bunch of really great people sat down and got this country started. God Have Mercy On Us!

  5. Thanks Ray for the thought of another Woodstock and "sex orgies"--I sure needed that grin and burst of laughter. Perhaps you can send people to knock some sense into these liberals here in NY? (on second thought that did sound like a threat, oops, not meant to be). Our esteemed governor just announced his re election campaign, imagine that, in the midst of this virus (rolling eyes).

Oh where was I? Hippies and free love article. Indeed, we need less lecture. Especially from elitist like Bill Gates and his "vaccine" to fix this pandemic. I am not buying into this. I agree, Ray, the greatest generation were the people who founded this great country. Good golly, I believe they are rolling in their graves by now.

    1. Bill Gates' main interest is to see who gets to produce the corona virus vaccine, so he can invest in it and make some more money. People make big bucks from war, and they make big bucks from pandemics as well. That's why we are still in places like Afghanistan, so bunches of retired generals can have lucrative jobs sitting on the boards of contract companies who supply the military.

  6. Get ready for the next pandemic which is going to originate in The United States. It is the dreaded TBF (TERMINAL BRAIN FUNK). Fortunately, this pandemic ONLY attacks people who vote for Joe Biden, who already has TBF. Final stages of TBF result in the brain turning into water.

  7. Dr. Waddy, Linda and Ray: So Andrew has asserted that his exalted life is best celebrated by a renewal of his increasingly totalitarian rule? "Aw puhlese Brer Bear, don' trow me in the Briar Patch (of Presidential politics that is)"

How did we empower such as Schumer and Pelosi, not to mention Sharpton and Van Jones? The stupidity of the boomers is the reason, I think. I know I cite it alot but their birth was an extremely important phenomenom and so too was their baleful influence.

Ray: As for "Greatest Generations" I fully agree, that which encompassed the Founding Fathers and Mothers was extraordinary, perhaps supremely so. So too was that which gave us Civil War soldiers, both Union and Confederate. Being a reenactor I have experienced only the slightest hint of what they endured. In the Confederate Army they were in for the duration but not so in the Union Army and yet droves of Union veterans reenlisted in 1864. After what they went through 1861-64 that bespeaks tremendous strength of character.

The generation born in the 1920's weathered its Depression and WWII ordeal in fine fashion (in marked contrast to its children). And then it turned to it in that vibrant economy and gave its kids the best childhood any generation could have: we had the benefit of their positive moral values( with its horror of the moral degeneracy yet on the very horizon )and of their resolute devotion to provide us lives materially blessed unimaginably beyond theirs on the farm or in the city slums in the harrowing '30's.

  8. Ray: My own opinions on outstanding generations have heretofore been limited only to America. But I fully agree with you on the nobility of Eastern Europeans 1938 to 1989. Their exemplar, I think, is Saint John Paul II.

Also Ray, I very much endorse your summary emprecation of the left. It deserves so VERY much more!

    1. Jack Understand that I am NOT bad mouthing our efforts in World War 2. Had we not entered that war, Hitler might well have won, seriously. Also, I never forget that The United States was alone against Japan all over the Pacific. No one came and helped us when Pearl Harbor got hit. We were on our own against a very formidable enemy, and we were already helping the British and the Russians out. And yes, The United States Navy had to handle most of the war against Japan, although I'm not forgetting General MacArthur either.

Nonetheless, the general b.s. taught in most American schools, is that somehow the Soviet Red Army won World War 2 for everyone. It's a damn lie, but it appeals to almost all on the left, and the left of course controls the American educational system. So in the end, I have to put the generation who fought that war at the top of the list, not just because I am an American, but to do so is logical.

  9. Dr. Waddy: That the left will seek to advance due to the present crisis ( both in public opinion and through emergency (temporary?! assumption of executive powers) is COMPLETELY to be expected. There can be no more doubt of its certainty than that cows ----.

Andrew Cuomo provides us a very telling example of what the left foresees as a fortuitous opening to its presumptuous and unproven intentions on the climate change chimera. He is their advance guard and we must see in his proposed state budget in benighted NY a determination to empower the notion that climate change is human generated (which of course serves the purpose of the deconstructionist left UNTIL, surely, its triumph, which would assuredly mimic Pol Pot and the Kommunalkas in its imposition of very human physical sanctions).

  10. In the end, the DemoVIRUS is far more deadly than the Corona Virus, isn't it?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Ray: I fully agree. The left which has captured the Dem party has long presented an existential threat to American life. The virus will pass but the totalitarian left remains so.

  12. Ray, you're right that every generation has its flaws. Certainly many generations endured far greater challenges than our own Greatest Generation did. Remember, both world wars were a breeze for us, compared to the Germans, or the Russians, or the French, or the Chinese...I could go on.

And I share your despair at the quality of leadership in DC. Was it ever all that high? Probably not, but with the Democratic Party in the state it's in, and only rampant Trumpism in Middle America keeping most Republican elected officials from embracing "socialism lite", this country is in a heap of trouble!

Ray, I will take partial issue with you in the sense that we DID have help in the Pacific Theater in WWII. The Brits played a big role there, as eventually did the Soviets, but the prize for perseverance has to go to the Chinese, who were butchered for over a decade, but fought on. We did more than our part, but we weren't alone.

Jack/Ray -- I fully agree that we humans are a much greater threat to ourselves than any virus ever could be. And it is the poison OF THE MIND that endangers us most of all. That may well be mankind's Achilles' heel. We can come up with the most inane ideologies...and we're dumb enough to fight and die for them.

  13. Dr. Waddy and Ray: Today I read a very well argued article featured on AOL which maintained that the Japanese surrendered not because of the destruction wrought by the Abombs (other cities had been harder hit)but because of the concurrent (coincidental, Iosif?) entrance of the Soviets. It presented several plausible reasons but did not assert what I regard as the salient one. The Japanese, a ruthless nationality in wartime, recognized the Soviets as kindred souls and knew what was in store for them at their hands. They knew they had invited the American conquest and they knew it would be far more humane than that of the sociopathically directed Russians and their legions. The Russkies aided us in that respect but I've read MacArthur told them where to put their presumptuous request that they share in the Occupation. The Japanese did very well to preempt the entrance of the Red Army thus and their postwar history proves it. This is of course to the everlasting credit of the U.S. and its brilliant Regent, MacArthur.
The Brits and their Commonwealth did much fighting in the Pacific. Their carriers took Kamikaze hits at Okinawa, but being better armored (to the extreme discomfort of their crews in warm waters) fared much better than American ships. Our Navy learned from it and I lived for four years under one of the subsequently armored flight decks.

  14. That's interesting about superior British armor on aircraft carriers, Jack. We learn something new every day...

It's very plausible that the Japanese were more afraid of Russians than they were of a-bombs. I think I would be too!
