Desperate Dems Determined to Derail Detractors

Friends, my latest article analyzes the debate in Las Vegas last night, and boy was it a doozy!  The candidates really let each other have it, after spending the last, oh, year walking on eggshells.  Elizabeth Warren was the clearest example: she's avoided attacking anyone, including in the recent New Hampshire debate, but last night her fangs and claws were fully exposed.  She leveled her bitterest attacks against Mike Bloomberg, who graced the debate stage for the first time.  Bloomberg and Sanders (as the frontrunners, at least according to the Fourth Estate) attracted the most incoming fire, but everyone took some hits, except for Joe Biden, who seems to have been left for dead.  All in all, it was highly entertaining!  It was also a gift to Donald Trump, because he was barely mentioned, while the Democrats proved their adroitness at mutual destruction.  And remember -- this is FEBRUARY!  If the Dems are at each other's throats now, what will the race be like by April, May, and June?  And, if a brokered convention is the outcome of the primaries, what will that convention look like?  Democrats and liberals, in case you haven't noticed, have a limitless capacity for hatred and self-pity.  That's not a recipe for a unified, "big tent" political party, or a successful presidential campaign.  It might, however, be a recipe for four more years of Trump!  And, as many of you have commented, four more years of Trump could well be a recipe for the demise of the Democratic Party itself.  Let us hope.

You can find my full analysis at Townhall:

  1. Thanks for this article Dr. Waddy.

As for me, the nicest thing I can say about the "Democrat" candidates is that they are dangerous fools. My God! The Founding Fathers of The United States of America must be turning over in their graves.

Bloomberg is probably the most dangerous in that has been very busy funding organizations who want to take away our Constitutional rights to bear arms. Of course all that is described as "gun safety" and various other wordings.

If Warren ever made it to The White House, the name of the place could be changed to "Menopause Manor". Sorry, that was ugly. Let's include Biden in that too, since males go through menopause too, don't they?

To have an openly gay PresidentIal candidate in the person of Mayor Pete would have turned most Americans almost purple with rage, and not all that long ago.

Finally, I do not agree with Dr. Waddy that "four more years of Trump" might mean the "demise of the Democrat Party itself". Without exploring the reasons why that party would move even further to the left by 2024, The Republicans need to have a very tough candidate ready to combat an even more dangerous "Democrat" party. Actually, it is really a bunch of Socialists and Communist in disguise. That party certainly has nothing whatsoever to do with the party that emerged in the 19th Century with Andrew Jackson.

Thanks again for the article Dr. Waddy. You are very kind to lend legitimacy to these fools.

    1. Very well said, Anonymous. "Menopause Manor"--if that wasn't so funny I probably would be offended. ((grin))

  2. I was trying to find something nice to say about the candidates. I finally decided that Klobuchar would qualify. I would say that she is an almost plump soccer Mom with pinko politics. I can certainly see her in that role driving a van around and yelling at the kids to "tone it down".

Yes, I know, I sound like a sexist. So mark me down as a WHITE, STRAIGHT, MALE, REPUBLICAN. And fit me up with a Red Cap marked MASA (Make America Sane Again). You know, maybe Klobuchar needs to be nominated. Her politics stink, but she seems like she is less radical than the others, and if she won the presidency she would of course be our first woman chief executive.

Maybe I should run for President. The only thing I could promise would be "Free Beer at the Government Warehouse". Rest stops all over the U.S. would have beer machines. Sound nuts! That's because it is.

    1. My gosh, Anonymous, "plump soccer mom" and ""Menopause Manor"---you are on a roll. Again, if this wasn't so funny (and albeit truthful) I would be offended. Mark me down as WHITE, STRAIGHT, FEMALE, CONSERVATIVE. I totally agree with MASA. And for free beer, I am sure you would get the college kids vote.

  3. Once Trump is reelected, and this exercise in futility is over come November, we need to look ahead and consider 2024. Let's get scary. Have you ever considered Michelle Obama making a run for the presidency? Can you imagine the Obamas back in The White House? Even more scary is the possibility of AOC (alias Ernestine "Che" Guevara) in politics as a Senator. This angry, left radicalized, Latina woman has tasted power, and she is by no means done running for political office. Don't rule her out as a future "Democrat" candidate. If that is fantasy, Michelle Obama is not. I can't imagine she is not grooming herself for political office in some capacity. So with that said, who would be your choice for a tough, Republican woman candidate in 2024?

  4. Just for the record, I am an adjunct instructor at a community college in the still beating heart of the geographical epicenter of The United States of America. In any event, Dr. Waddy knows exactly who I am. I need to tell you right now, that I am in no way as "illustrious" as Dr. Waddy is, with his very impressive academic credentials and articles.

The reason I am posting as Anonymous is because I think it is a lot safer to do so these days as a commenter on any blog. Actually, Dr. Waddy's site is the ONLY site I post on, having in the past been kicked off numerous left wing sites, and denounced as a fascist more than once.

I am not a fascist, but anyone who disagrees with the left these days (as also in the past) is certainly listed as one. I am going to shut up for now. I have certainly said enough for today. Sorry, but no apologies whatsoever for my previous remarks.

    1. HA! I knew it!((grin)) You are an adjunct instructor, grin. I disagree, you are quite "illustrious" as is Dr. Waddy. No need to apologize, you and Jack keep this blog quite interesting with your comments, smiles.

  5. Just one more thing for today. I don't know about you, but I miss "Beto" O'Rourke". Hot damn! I wish he would throw his hat in the ring again, and come back this Summer 2020 so I can enjoy seeing him wave his arms wildly about, and sweating profusely. If nothing else, the man would be a great advert for underarm deodorant.

  6. Forgive me in advance, because this is crude, but when Bernie Sander's face gets red it reminds me of some old, constipated guy straining to have a bowel movement.
Sorry, but I can no longer control myself, no pun intended. Even if Bernie made President, he would probably die of a heart attack in office anyway. Comrade Commissar Bernie, first Marxist Dictator of a United Socialist States of America. What kind of a person takes his honeymoon in The Soviet Union? My God! are you kidding? Is that true?

  7. On the subject of politics, a good book to read, if you have not already done so, is "A Less Perfect Union......" by Adam Freedman. Thanks.

  8. Dr. Waddy: Your article certainly did not make my day but I'll have to deal with it. Most of the commentary I had heard was that Bloomberg had fluffed. I must strongly doubt that now. I am of course for Bernie because he virtually guarantees a Dem rout. C'mon Bernie, give it the good 'ol 1962 push.

Thanx for enduring the sight of those Dems and listening to their self righteous swill; I can't take it , especially that granny glassed 1970's man hater scold. I've thought that Bloomberg's anti gun rights screed would sink him but Hillary was just as bad and she almost made it. Still, the real America would make him pay at the voting booth for that anti Constitutional presumptuousness. The more the Dems push that view, the more guns are bought and the more NRA membership goes up.

Anonymous: I too was thinking about who the GOP might nominate in 2024. Pence, Jim Jordan, Joanie Ernst, Trey Gowdy ( if he isn't on SCOTUS by then and do I ever hope he will be)? But maybe, just maybe, Tom Reed, yes and I hope he reempowers Cathy Young along the way.

I've heard that AOC may be facing a primary challenge? Actually, electoral defeat could benefit her because then she could sojourne in the wilderness for a time as a " commie, oops I mean community organizer" and come out guaranteed of royal ascent. Then again, maybe soon the Dem nomination won't be worth what we Buffalonians call "a buck'tree eighty". Maybe Michael Dukakis will try again but this time he should avoid tanks. Willy Horton would vote for him since he probably can now.

  9. Anonymous -- you make a very good point that Bloomberg has long been spending his money to advance leftist causes, often by stealth. His funding of offices in state AG offices that work on "climate justice" comes to mind. His work on "gun safety" has been notable. Who can say whether the Dems would have taken the House in 2018, or the Virginia legislature in 2019, if not for Bloomberg's largesse? That makes it all the more comical that the Democratic candidates for President hold Bloomberg in such searing contempt. They ought to be thanking him! Be that as it may, I hope the end result is a crestfallen Bloomberg who never again wastes a dime on the Democrats.

And Anonymous, I acknowledge that my prediction of Democratic implosion after 2020 is a best case scenario. They may come back stronger than ever in 2022 and 2024. History would suggest as much...but the Democratic/liberal penchant for irrationality and character assassination is not to be underestimated! I believe the Dems might react very badly to defeat.

    MASA!

As for Klobuchar, she impresses me slightly, and her frank disavowal of socialism is a good start. But I agree that she is a wolf in sheep's clothing, and she might, in fact, do more damage to the country than a President Sanders, because she'd be more effective, if less extreme.

I frankly don't believe Michelle Obama wants to be a candidate for political office. And I wouldn't assume that she'd be formidable if she was. Everyone looks electable until they enter the arena, and she's never been there, except in a marginal way.

A good GOP candidate in 2024? I suppose Haley might be viable, but my guess is it will either be Trump himself, Don Jr., or Pence. If Trump loses in 2020, though, all bets are off.

And yes, I'm sure all Trump supporters have been called "fascist," "racist," "sexist," and more over the years. The terms have been so misused and cheapened that, thankfully, they've lost most of their bite.

Would Bernie die in office? I wouldn't bet on it (God has a sense of humor, after all), and I'm pretty sure that his Vice-President will be a true Bolshie, so we'd be no better off.

Jack, I may have been a bit soft on Bloomberg in my analysis. He did perform worse than I expected. Be that as it may, I would be surprised if the voters were paying as much attention as the pundits, and I still expect Bloomberg to be a force going forward. We know now, however, how much his rivals despise him, and that's a sign that he'll have a mountain to climb if he intends to be the nominee. As for gun control, they never even broached it. They were all too busy insulting one another.

Tom Reed for Prez? I don't know him as well as I ought to, but I know he has many fans in the Southern Tier.

I would bet big money that AOC will win her primary, but in either case I could easily see her running for Senate. Would she be bold enough to take on Schumer? That's a heavy lift, but Gillibrand is a spent force...

And I too am still firmly in Bernie's corner. The comparison to McGovern is rich with insights!

    1. Be afraid for the 2024 election. AOC is an upcoming force that will need to be dealt with. Can she beat Schumer or Gillibrand? I highly doubt it.

In Bernie's corner, interesting...I still stand with my original thought that there will be a brokered convention, wait for it...Hillary Clinton will enter the race. I'm just a sayin' (pardon my southern dialect), Dr. Waddy.

  10. Dr.Waddy: If Tom were to displace Cuomo, and his candidacy is a solid possibility I think, Obama's ascent suggests the possibility of his rise to Presidential or Vice Presidential viability. And yes, I forgot to include Nikki Haley in my list of GOP hopefuls. Not one of them though, has President Trump's guts.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Dr. Waddy: I take that back in that all of the GOP possibilities we brought up are solid; President Trump however, is historically extraordinary in his determination to deliver on his promises, which were made openly and subsequently subjected to electoral judgement. Nikki Haley stood well for us in the hostile and discouraging atmosphere of the U. N. (which, if I were President, I would strive to give a year to vacate N.Y. without favorable references.) Let them find another country to savage and feed upon.

Tom Reed: he is saying and doing all the right things now; I've commented on them recently. I've
seen him demonstrate the ability to defeat characteristically ad hominem leftist attacks ( eg"well, I know when I see Tom throw a tantrum" - when Tom throwing a tantrum would be like Slick Willy telling the truth) with disarming grace and reserve which lends ever so much more credit to his disapproval when he expresses it.

I think he was on the Ways and Means Committee in his first term,a sure sign of effectiveness and though I have some misgivings about the conciliatory demeanor he sometimes shows toward the resolutely leftist and destructive Dem party ( at least to the remnants of patriotism in that shamefully compromised Soviet)I trust him to stand for the real America which elected him. He was a very early supporter of Donald Trump and that is very much to his credit.

  12. Dr. Waddy and Anonymous: It appears now that Bernie MIGHT be breaking out of the uh, swarm. But, I think, gads! what if he was elected?

I once asked my father , a 1940 -1945 (Neutrality Patrol) vet: " Did you have any doubt in Dec. 1941, when were facing Japan and Germany?" He said "nope, I knew right away that we would win". Nonetheless, that result was realized only after very much sacrifice.

Similarly, we must recognize that THIS is the definitive battle. Sanders presents a completely honest, bald faced existential threat to America empowered by completely historically discredited dreams. He would, in office, work incalculable destruction upon our country, motivated by his visceral drive to artificially empower the unproductive and disown the productive for their obvious moral turpitude in living positive lives. This is madness, fully akin to that demonstrated ad nauseum in the 20th century communist world. It still thinks it can triumph. And it could, unless we TURN OUT.

  13. Linda, I hope you're right about the brokered convention! That would produce maximum chaos for the Dems.

AOC's future is quite the puzzlement. Could she win a primary against Schumer or Gillibrand? I believe it's possible. The activist wing of the party is way out there, and if the turnout was low a nutjob could take the prize...

Tom Reed for Governor, eh? Now that would be interesting! We sure could use a viable GOP candidate in 2022.

Nikki Haley: I'll admit to not knowing that much about her, but you can count me as a semi-skeptic as to her presidential fitness. She left the arena at the UN at a very early stage. If she's grooming herself as a potential Prez, then what's she been up to lately? Keeping her head down? That's no way to win.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Dr. Waddy: Good points. though I admire Nikki Haley I think I have perceived in her disturbing indications of RINOism and "apologetic conservatism".President Reagan was followed by a very apologetic pseudo conservative and the result was the Clintons. What apologetic conservatives do not realize is that the left has only disdain for them and a determination to use their shameful trust and naivete to destroy the world the poor foo-foos so timorously defend . These fey swells have little experience of the murderous and sociopathic intent of the thoroughly objective left. Look but to the 20th century for confirmation.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Yes, Jack -- the last thing we need is a RINO in 2024 (or ever again). The Republican Party seems transformed under Trump, but the establishment is still in place, and they would love to reassert their grip, once Trump passes from the scene (hopefully not anytime soon).
