Friends, DJT's recent visit to Scotland was a tour de force, as this article makes plain. He charmed the British PM Sir Keir Starmer, he inked a highly favorable (to us) trade deal with the EU, and he played lots of golf and drummed up business for his various regional golf clubs. What's more, the Trump haters in the U.K., of which there are many, were remarkably quiescent. Trump bestrides the globe, in short, and he keeps on winning, no matter where he goes.

Speaking of Trumpian diplomacy, we appear to be maintaining our "trade truce" with China, under which they will pay minimal tariffs of 10-30% while negotiations on a final deal continue. Fair enough. I trust Trump to achieve a healthy rebalancing in our commercial relations with the PRC.

The mainstream/leftist media is full of stories about hapless "undocumented immigrants" who get dragged out of their communities by Trumpian thugs for no good reason. And it fails utterly to report on all the genuine thugs, perverts, and maniacs who have been evicted from America courtesy of ICE. For shame!!!
Finally, you may not have noticed, but the Trump Administration has struck a blow against "woke AI", and it may be one of the most consequential things DJT has done in his second term to date. Why do I say that? Everyone agrees that AI is going to play an enormous role in our economy and our society going forward. Well, every AI has a set of ethical parameters, in effect, that guides its behavior and its interpretation of reality. It matters GREATLY who sets those parameters and why. The federal government is weighing in, essentially denying federal contracts to Big Tech companies that infect their AI systems with wokeness. Now, that won't be easy to pull off, because defining wokeness is notoriously difficult, but just the threat of losing federal dollars will cause many AI programmers and Big Tech executives to tread carefully. Thank you, President Trump!
I know I feel a lot safer because the U.S. now has a president who is a good golfer and wears a baseball hat with confidence. As far as perverts go, he should think more about quinces, who are basically perverts who fart in the bathtub and then bite the bubbles. Special PervPolice can be formed to take care of that menace, as well as snarfs, who are guys that go around sniffing college women's bike seats on hot days. And don't forget Library Police who take care of repeat overdue books offenders. Finally, the death penalty should be considered for people who park in reserved spots.
ReplyDeleteDr. Waddy from Jack: I agree; our remarkable President stands proud. These are heady times. I would expect that, with him, success will build on success as his astonishing, formidable record grows. Some commentators have opined that he pretty well had his way with the E.U. Perhaps they have wisely decided that its good to have a guy like him on their side, especially since he is the Chief Executive of the most powerful country in the world and that the world is greatly fortunate that it is the U.S. which enjoys that status. Certainly he
ReplyDeleteis not apologizing for it and they have to respect that.
Meanwhile , his hate filled vicious domestic "critics" continue their reflexive and increasingly pathetic assault on his increasingly impregnable battlements. Pedantic schoolmarm Charles Schumer, is exemplary of the Dems' atavistic and unlamented "old guard". Jasmine Crockett, actually seen by some to be the spokesman for the Young Turks of the "new" Dem party, sets an absurdly hyperbolic standard for shrieking rant filled public conduct which can only increase the almost pitiable contempt with which the majority of Americans regard this once creditable party. Together may they trash in impotent dudgeon until they pitch over the very precipice.
"Thrash" rather. Jack
ReplyDeleteDr. Waddy from Jack: The determination of the MSM to suppress evidence of the violent criminality often found among illegal immigrants is of a piece with its portrayal of murderous crimes committed with guns being solely attributable to an easy availability of guns. Both positions are either purposely misleading or the product of journalistic minds closed by far left strictures imposed on them upon pain of exile from their hard won profession.
ReplyDeleteWe can fully expect an onslaught of such disingenuous humbug to result from the recent mass shooting in NYC. In purporting to mourn for a police officer so killed, NY Governaor Hochul launched a diatribe urging adoption of "belated" gun control laws for which criminals will shake: not in dread but in high mirth. Meanwhile law abiding citizens in her state find it ever more legally risky to carry the self defense means to stop heartless thugs. Go figure yes? But perhaps rather, resist Dem "do gooders" who do this by joining organizations like Scope and NRA. These apologists for criminals will never admit they are wrong; we must disempower them to get them off our backs.
Anonymous, you sound a lot like the incomparable Ray (repeat snarfer, according to the police blotter)!
ReplyDeleteJack, you have to wonder whether the Dems' hearts are in their (perfunctory? performative?) calls for MORE gun control... Possibly certain lefty constituencies expect the calls to action, but will settle for no genuine action. It wouldn't be the first time!
