No Way, José!

Friends, among the flurry of accomplishments that the Trump Administration has notched in a mere three weeks is the near total elimination of illegal immigration.  What I mean by this is that the numbers of migrants crossing the southern border is rapidly approaching...zero.  This is a stunning turnaround from a year ago under El Presidente Biden.  How did Trump (and Homan) do it?  Not by building a wall, but simply by being themselves.  Turns out that, when people expect the U.S. government to enforce its own laws against illegal immigration, they stay home!  Who would've thunk it?

While the mainstream media and lefties are hammering Elon Musk and DOGE day and night, Joe Rogan, who has emerged as a titan of the "new media", is standing by him.  Rogan believes that Musk is exposing massive waste and corruption.  Legacy media polls say that Americans have had it up to here with Musk, but the more historically accurate polling firms, like Trafalgar and Rasmussen, paint a different picture.  They suggest that Musk's popularity is similar to Trump's, which is to say it's hovering around 50 percent.  That's good enough for government work, I'd say.

Finally, while many Americans and people all over the world are frightened by A.I., the Trump Administration, including Vice-President Vance, is articulating a more optimistic view.  Trump and Vance believe that the U.S. can lead the A.I. sector, and that A.I. will generally enhance worker productivity rather than destroying jobs.  We shall see, but in my view A.I. is here to stay whether we like it or not, and the smart approach is to try to maximize its advantages and minimize its downsides.  In other words, I'm with Vance.

  1. Dr. Waddy, your good post about Joe Rogan and the "new media" flies in the face of Rod's previous arguments. That is a barometer for good things and indicative of what appears to be a significant shift in what Americans seek in content.

Though I don't always agree with Rogan, it is hard to argue that he stands out for his authenticity, credibility, and what appears to be a legitimate pursuit of truth. All attributes that have been SORELY absent in the mainstream media.

The Newsweek (wow) and Real Clear Politics articles also suggest that our citizens are seeking this. The daylight shone on the corruption and waste our government has attempted to conceal resonates with many.

The left continued defense of covering for these rogue agencies is only a good thing for this administration. All that to say... keep up the good work, Elon, Big Balls, and the rest of the DOGE crew!

  2. Dr. Waddy, I agree with the post on AI, limited to its potential for enhancing productivity. It can and is helpful to improve many people's societal and career roles.

However, AI is heavily influenced by those who support and control its development and architecture. Though in a more elementary way, history shows that technology can be misused if left unchecked. We've recently seen how it can be directed to disinform and exploit biases.

Unfortunately, I can't help but assume that AI will reflect man's frailty and depravity.

How can AI not reflect its maker's true nature?

  3. My apologies to Jack for jumping on this post so early and often. I might be overstepping and usurping a responsibility here!

Regarding the insightful DrW statement, "Turns out that when people expect the U.S. government to enforce its own laws against illegal immigration, they stay home! Who would've thunk it?"

One has to wonder if laws in our fair state were enforced and abolished "Bail Reform" (and other hindrances to enacting law and order), one might also see the types of crimes forgiven to decrease similarly.

I, for one, would not doubt that outcome!

  4. Hear hear, Richie! The more we can expose the Dems as shills for entitled bureaucrats and NGO fat cats, the better off we'll be.

I totally agree that A.I. is, for now, to be feared mainly because of the agendas of the people who own and control it. Maybe later it will develop a (malevolent) mind of its own, but for now the Boards of Directors of OpenAI, Google, Microsoft, etc. are plenty evil already.

I don't doubt that NYS could dramatically reduce the incidence of property theft if it were to reform its bail laws. I say it's time for Trump and Homan to consider deporting (deadbeat) U.S. citizens! Okay, maybe Colombia won't take them, and with good reason, but Guantanamo beckons, right?

  5. Richie from Jack : No problem at all! The dialogue at this site is stimulating.

  6. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Can there be any remaining doubt that the far leftist commanded Biden open border was so with absolute purposeful and America destroying intent?!" ALL" it takes is a common sense American in charge to affirm that and put the quietus to it. Huzzahs aplenty! These are days of renaissance for America. It is now quite plausible to think that our potentially fatal 60 year marxist fever has broken on the granite bedrocks of our much tried and much constructively dynamic land!

Yeah, antiamerica's fear of DJT is well taken and how richly they deserve their visceral dread . Even they knew an hombre like him would confront their disingenuous trashing of our laws. Hooray for those laws and our EXTRAORDINARY good fortune in having elevated as seemingly unlikely a probably great President to enforce them, as we have willed in our democratic lawmaking process And how much endorsed is the painfully proven American way.

Again, I've watched our politics for 65 years now and I've never seen anything like this. Antiamerica did all it could to destroy our confidence in our American culture, our civilization. They made some very disturbing inroads. Oh they are still at it but our redemption of a revitalized after unequally wronged DJT ,who never lost his confidence that what America needed was confirmation of its exceptionalism and its overall benefit both to itself and to a world which has already felt the impact of his Maga; that is their Waterloo I think.

. Yeah go ahead far lefties, compare him to Hitler! In this you only lay bare your colossal ignorance. As an emetic, pray read any selected page from Shirer's Rise and Fall of the Third Reich. This is not interwar Germany and DJT is no totalitarian monster. He couldn't be if wanted to be. He is simply doing now what must be done to undo decades of liberal dreaminess and radical totalitarian intent. It took sand in the craw to do it and he has it and you of the marxist rump can't gainsay it or gaindo it!

  7. Dr. Waddy from Jack: NY would do its law abiding citizens their long denied due by simply admitting that the recent sympathy for criminals their dictatorial lawmakers and governors have imposed are bereft of any benefit to NY. Yes, they think that their counterintuitive renunciation of common sense (eg. crooks - bad, law abiding - good)in dealing with victimizers, has enacted long denied justice. Vicious, often sociopathic law breakers celebrate such naivete!

Until radicals are purged from our state government, we will continue to experience such tragically wrongheaded humbug. Of course there are those in NY's State government who see criminals as a "revolutionary class" and are blithe to loose them on society, the better to advanced the chaos they seek as a prelude to their dictatorial takeover. Should they triumph they would of course make haste to discard the trash they have so cynically employed, America, NY state now and probably for awhile is the model for the incipient degradation of our entire country to servile marxist hell. Take heed, (please!) common sense America and in your way help us to shed this onerous yoke!

  8. Dr. Waddy from Jack: The concerns you have raised about AI maybe eventually manifesting destructive tendencies are very plausible I think. Many people of good will subscribe to the conviction that war is futile. But there is a harsh logic to war; it often does bring about profound change. I'm a computer Neanderthal but; suppose in programming AI functions we install some algorithm(?) perhaps even inadvertently enjoining the intelligent entity to be purely , coldly logical or completely results oriented? Might it not reason that war fulfills these parameters? Shakespeare's Richard II lamented "do we must what force will have us do". Might an expeditious AI entity dutifully adopt that as a guiding principle (?)

  10. Jack, we in benighted NYS can appeal to the federal courts for some relief from neo-Marxist oppression, but possibly even more useful will be the power of the purse that DJT, Musk, and a Republican Congress can wield against blue states. Almost every blue state is TOTALLY dependent on federal largesse. In fact, the Left as a whole is totally dependent on federal subsidization. Take away the money, and you might just solve the problem once and for all.

Could A.I. do something wicked and beastly in service of what it considers a higher ideal? Well, humans certainly can! And, since A.I. is made by humans, I would assume it's equally capable of such barbarism, and would be, of course, unburdened by guilt, unless it was programmed to feel guilt, which it might be!

  11. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Well taken! It makes compelling sense that if you defund them you disempower them. And what wonderful irony there is in an all out campaign to "defund" the disdainful far left after their murderous "defund" onslaught on law enforcement. Being that the professional dissemblers among them have no idea of how to work for bread they will be like beached whales.

Yeah, you have brought it to the heart of the matter. American neomarxists know no way of functioning other than to "shame" America into funding its own destruction. They may well have met their match in a President who cannot be intimidated by them and he has wisely empowered possibly the most productive entrepreneur ever, to assist him. Sorry you atavistic slaves of an absolutely discredited dreamer and his catastrophic musings in the British Library; the business of America is STILL business and its constructive and well tempered principles are now running our Federal Executive branch. Antiamerica has humbling days ahead of it as its careens down the slippery slope. The chickens are homing in on the roost and will not be denied I think.
