The Forgotten Voter

Friends, when Democrats lose in November, their loss will be well-deserved.  That's not just because they've governed the country so poorly, but also because they've conducted such a boneheaded campaign.  Democrats are literally ignoring all the top-tier issues for voters: inflation, crime, and border security.  Perhaps "ignoring" is the wrong word -- they're downplaying these concerns, and often they're suggesting that anyone who cares about them is misinformed.  To them, it's obvious that abortion rights, January 6th, and the horrors of Trumpism are the only themes that matter in 2022.  Each of these meta-issues, according to them, disqualifies Republicans as legitimate contenders for public office in a true democracy, which they understand to be a system in which they, and only they, are ever allowed to win.  This level of myopia, and this scale of contempt for what ordinary people think and feel, is quite extraordinary and darn unusual in any democratic polity.  It requires explanation, and this intriguing article takes a stab at it.  Basically, Mr. Buckley suggests that the Dems are victims of their own groupthink, and of the intimidation and ostracism that they inflict on freethinkers.  Perhaps.  Are they about to get their just desserts?  I sure hope so!

Probably no race this fall will be more important to which party controls the Senate, and thus no race will be more important to our perceptions of which side "won" the midterms, than the battle between John Fetterman and Mehmet Oz.  Can a brain-damaged Democrat win such a high-profile race?  The answer appears to be an emphatic "Yes!", since the polls are so close (and since we already have a man in a perpetual stupor inside the Oval Office), but even left-leaning Politico concedes that Fetterman is skating on thin political ice.

Finally, remember all those election laws that the Dems, and their fellow travelers, broke with impunity in 2020?  Well, to their credit, Republicans are trying their best to ensure that such lawlessness isn't repeated in 2022, and they're making full use of the courts to defend election integrity.  This isn't enough, in itself, to ensure that our elections will be fair and aboveboard, but it's nice to see the good guys acting with foresight for a change.  The improvements we've made to the electoral process since 2020 are reassuring, and even more important is the fact that social media censorship, and media bias in favor of Democrats, have both softened a bit since then.  Criticism of Biden and the Democrats, for instance, is now allowed, whereas before it was stifled comprehensively.  This should give us hope!

No doubt. One must shake their head at what and why causes such short-sightedness.

Dr Waddy & other Readers... Do you think there has been enough done to ensure voter integrity in the states where races are very close? IE: Pennsylvania and Georgia?

Or is there still a lack of proper controls that could be the wildcard to swing some of these elections towards the blue candidate?

  2. Dr.Waddy et al: The left long ago awarded itself infallibility. Consequently it considers ANY measure justifiable if it advances the only just end: their unchallenged power to make policy according to their unquestionable wisdom, at any time on any issue. "Any means necessary" is their credo and raises endless possibilities. They must be politically deprived of ever vital POWER in order to stop their relentless predation.

  3. Richie, given the institutional resources of the Left, I'd say we're darn lucky that they're so arrogant and oblivious. Their consequent errors give us a (small?) window of opportunity to claw back some political and cultural power, and thus forestall the end of civilization!

That's a good question about election integrity. The honest answer is that I don't know. No analysis that I've ever seen managed to get to the bottom of how much fraud there is. Lots of ballot harvesting and flaunting of election laws? Sure. That doesn't necessarily prove that real people aren't casting real votes. The bottom line is that it doesn't matter if there's fraud if we can't manage to prove it. Anyway, my gut tells me that, whether the fraud is minor or moderate (I'm fairly certain it's not rampant), we can still win elections if we turn out enough voters of our own. My argument has always been that the dastardly Dems won in 2020 by the skin of their teeth, despite pulling out all the stops. Many of their shenanigans won't fly in 2022, and the climate has become notably more adverse for their kind, so that tells me that victory is possible...and probable. That's my two cents.

Quite right, Jack: the only thing a leftist believes in is himself (or herself, or itself, or zeself).
