The Invasion Must End, Once and For All!

Friends, my views on the crisis at the southern border are no big secret.  There's little I wouldn't do, and wouldn't support, to achieve a solution to the slow-motion invasion our country has been enduring for decades.  Immigration -- yes!  But illegal immigration -- no, and never!  President Trump's latest tack, his placement of tariffs on Mexican exports, is a smart move.  He absolutely must follow through.  This is the subject of my latest article in Townhall:

  1. Dr. Waddy: Ditto: This IS an invasion, though not a conventional military one. It must stop. Immigration must be done in a lawful manner; its imperative.

You are entirely right that the President will face excoriation for this policy. He knows it and he will need our active support. We all need to call the White House and Republican legislators.

The American left wants to "fundamentally transform"the U.S.and sees unlimited immigration from Latin America as a decisive way to effect this. In this new policy the President shows his characteristic fortitude, his determination to do as he has promised and his unapologetic realization of just what the left is all about.

  2. I couldn't agree more, Jack -- it's an inspired, no-nonsense policy. Vintage Trump, in other words. The pressure being put on him to abandon or delay the tariffs is immense, though. I hope he can resist it. Among other things, Trump is developing an image as a paper tiger in some quarters, and that simply can't be allowed to stand.

  3. Dr. Waddy: His critics are like jackals. They swarm in predatory frenzy when they smell blood. Nancy Pelosi says the President should be in prison, for the luvva . . . She's 20 years too late. Take heed, America, take heed; this is what they do to ANYONE who seriously opposes them. This how they would rule.

  4. Yes, I do wonder how many of us truly will end up in prison, if the Left ever seizes real power. I'd rather not find out!

  5. Dr.Waddy: Do you like the Southwest? I hear its warm in the winter. Apparently some of Barack Obama's buddies ("just someone in the neighborhood")opined that it would be necessary to execute 20 million patriots and set up reeducation camps in the Southwest. If we survived the initial cleanup we might end up there; 'course we'd have plenty of company. And maybe we'd be better off inside because the left would summarily relieve all conventional felons of the "crime of punishment". Andrew Cuomo would be at the gates to welcome them and to give them the keys to their new cars.

  6. Ha! The Southwest definitely has its charms, and you might be right that we'll get to the point where prison is safer than life on the mean streets of blue America. I imagine some prisons already are quite pleasant. You would know better than I... Club Fed?

  7. Dr. Waddy: I knew many inmates for whom prison is just an occupational hazard. They do appreciate the better conditions at some lower level federal prisons and there are always lots of bleeding hearts eager to provide them more and better. But for most anyone else, prison is a catastrophe. They all smell bad and are cacaphonous day and night. They are stultifyingly monotonous and in the summer can be hellish, especially down south. All conventional prisons have a terribly cynical ambience and at some of them even the staff gives in to it. Only at Shock Incarceration and similarly well motivated facilities is a positive atmosphere, fair both to the crime victim and the taxpayer and the inmate, possible. The big maximum security lockups like Attica are stygian islands of almost complete hopelessness. They are good only for keeping sociopaths away from the rest of us. That they are so is not society's fault; when you put lots of bad people in one place you get a bad place. A week in one a them joints would have most do gooders mewing.

  8. A very valuable series of insights, Jack. Thank you. That all makes sense. As you say, the key dynamic in any community is the people who comprise it...
