It's Chris Collins or Bust!

Friends, although I'm well aware that I have legions of adoring fans in every corner of the globe, many of you hail from Western New York, as I do.  Thus, you will know that there is an increasingly hotly contested Congressional race in the 27th district, between sitting Congressman Chris Collins, a Republican and a Trump-supporter, and Nate McMurray, the Democrat and a crypto-liberal who says as little as possible about his leftist views, so as to fool the good people of Western New York into voting for him.  Because Congressman Collins is currently under indictment, unfortunately victory is not assured for the good guys in this race.  My latest article endorses Collins and calls on the people of Western New York to rally to his cause.  Do you want a Nancy Pelosi speakership?  Do you want President Trump to be impeached for...offending snowflake liberals who believe he never should have been elected in the first place?  If your answer to these questions is no, then don't sit on the sidelines.  Vote for Chris Collins, and, if you can, contribute to his campaign, encourage your friends to vote for him, or pound the pavement and help to mobilize the Republican base.  If we make a maximum effort, we can win this race (handily) and many others besides...

Here's the article in Townhall:

  1. Dr. Waddy: I'm glad I am in Tom Reed's district; he truly represents us, though I wish he would be somewhat less willing to accomodate the Dems (who sneer at him by running Ithaca lala land leftists against him time and again). But if I were in Collin's district I would hasten to vote for him.

The "politics by prosecution" so very much characteristic of the Dems since Watergate in their continued fevered end run around democracy, must be thought of in considering the legitimacy of Collins' indictment. And, of course, he has been convicted of nothing.

It is reasonable that his tenuous legal situation would create doubt in those who would otherwise certainly have voted for him given his clear congruence with the conservative views which dominate his district and for his gutsy and prescient early firm support for this formidable President. But to vote for a sure Pelosi (or for that matter any radical with whom the Dems might replace her) subordinate would be a grotesque mistake. As you pointed out, should an incumbent Collins be convicted, an orderly process probably yielding a true representative of the district would kick in. San Francisco Pelosi has about as much regard for rural WNY interests as we do of her; seating one who will have to submit to her will or be denied influence would be a terrible and avoidable mistake.

  2. I am stunned that you would advocate voting for a crook. That shows how low politics has now gone. Hopefully, McMurray will win, which will eliminate the need for a special election when Collins gets convicted.

  3. Rod: Yeah, ok. Remember the movie about Lincoln as an Illinois lawyer? A judge said to him "Oh well. I guess we can give this man a trial before we hang him". Gee, don't you think Chris Collins deserves at least that? McMurray, as a very junior Dem, would have to toe the leftist line and that is in no way "representative" of rural WNY. I know many on the left believe that the unwashed should submit to the stewardship of the enlightened but we don't have to, really we don't.

  4. Rod, Jack gets it. There's more at stake here than insider trading, or the lack thereof. It suits the Left to prejudge any conservative accused of any wrongdoing, but we on the right don't have to take the bait. And why, in a democracy, should the people of the 27th district be represented by someone who doesn't share their values and beliefs? To prevent the Left's finger-wagging? That doesn't seem like a compelling reason to me.
