Friends, in another welcome sign that the Supremes are eager to bend the knee to His Majesty Donald I, SCOTUS today allowed the Trump Administration to resume construction on the famous mother-of-all-ballrooms. Hooray! I hope it includes a throne room, and I'm NOT refering to the executive washroom either.

In other news, Trump is defending the construction of data centers, despite concerns that they suck down water and electricity resources and thus increase costs for ordinary Americans. As usual, I'm with Trump! Did we fret during the Industrial Revolution that factories would use natural resources or energy, and thus raise costs for consumers? Of course we didn't. Industrialization was the only game in town, and you could either play it or sink into poverty. The same is true of the information age: we have no choice but to participate, and the last thing we want to do is erect artificial barriers to the expansion of our digital infrastructure. Individual Americans can moan about AI and the "internets" all they like, but technology is the future, and we need to be on the cutting edge.
Dr. Waddy: Will wonders never cease; WAPO yet again takes a common sense position on a decisive issue. I completely agree with your comparison of the rise of AI to that of the Industrial Revolution . Having worked in a dirty and dangerous '60s steel plant I got just a hint of the drawbacks the Industrial Revolution brought with it. But that it brought us unprecedented , almost fantastic material well being and all the many advantages which come with that happy state, is , I think, undeniable.

Dr. Waddy: Dr. Waddy: President Truman initiated reconstruction in the White House extensive enough that he moved out to Blair House for awhile. Was there a public stink from either party about that? The Puerto Rican nationalist terrorists who sought to give us our first Speaker of the House made President may have been bolloxed up in their abortive Truman assassination assault by his residence outside of it at the time . Ah, who knows? President Obama made certain to remove the bust of Churchill from the Oval Office and replace it with a bust of RFK placed so that whenever the desk was graced with his august presence it was plainly visible. RFK's WWII service consisted of two years as an enlisted man on a destroyer , with one of the years post war;Churchill's was somewhat more significant. No stentorian outcry was heard about that .
ReplyDeleteBut the DSA/Dems passionate effort to deny President Trump such an "imperious" choice is purely the product of their intensely bigoted zero tolerance TDS. His reasons for building it and the public support it has garnered is less than nothing to them. And a principled, lawful Scotus which has ruled against President Trump's wishes on significant issues has continued to honor the rule of law in this case rather than that of the compelling emotion which guides all far left "legal" dissent. Oh, but President AOC will make those berobed Luddites rue when she "fundamentally transforms" them into a lonely and powerless quintuple appended to her obese and obsequious tribunal, yes?
Meanwhile construction proceeds apace and will at its completion be a permanent thumb in the eye of the "American" far left. And if President Trump chooses to grace it with some symbol of his "insolence"in contradicting these incipient true dictators across the board, then let him install it in some perpetually visible manner!
Dr. Waddy: Four Dem House members have introduced legislation decrying the rise of socialism in their once upon a time loyal major party. Oh they may be sincere but this is the party which embraced the Obamas' stirring call for "fundamental transformation" of an America which neither wanted or needed such sweeping change. How much more radical can you get than "FUNDAMENTAL" reconstruction, ehh? The casual Obamas but toyed with the idea but today's DSA "revolutionaries "are a grimly determined lot. These Dems caught in between, not really knowing whether they really want to see actual socialism ascend to power: well, alot of those "fundamental transformation" devotees are still in the party though they do not yet dare to run the risk of admitting such radical conviction. Those Dems who wisely realize what an open threat the DSA is to all America values and cherishes are as yet an eccentric rump waiting for the party to renounce its smoky flirtation with totalitarianism. They won't get much support from todays shameful Dem husk; the courage needed to engage the DSA in the principled and ruthless manner necessary in order to marginalize those Marxists is sorely lacking in that probably irretrievably degraded bunch. Any dems honestly opposed to the ever more imminent DSA coup should join the GOP. The injustice of that to those who voted them in is balanced by the critical nature of this astonishing doctrinal and political clash in our country.
