Vindication Overload!

Friends, I wouldn't say I'm quite "tired of winning" yet, but the wins keep piling up -- that's for sure.  Case in point: YouTube has settled with DJT over his claim that he was illegally and wrongly evicted from the platform after the January 6th unpleasantness.  Has YouTube and all of social media become MAGA-compliant?  Far from it!  However, there has been a notable retreat from censorship and from indoctrination, for which we should all be very grateful.

President Trump and Israeli P.M. Benjamin Netanyahu have released a plan for peace in Gaza that involves an international body, chaired by Trump himself, taking over administration of the region.  Will Hamas relent?  That we don't know, but it would be fascinating, to say the least, to see Donald J. Trump enthroned as Emperor of New Gaza, a.k.a. the Levantine Riviera.  Who, or what, would provide security in this new Trumpian dominion?  Stay tuned!

It looks like we may be heading to a government shutdown of indeterminate duration.  The Dems are being pushed by their radical, Trump-hating base to take a stand, while Trump and Republicans seem to feel that Democrats will get the blame, and in the meantime the federal government will shed even more pesky bureaucrats.  The markets are a little nervous, but I've always felt that the disruptions caused by shutdowns have been greatly exaggerated by the media.

Finally, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has addressed an assembly of senior officers in Virginia, and he was joined by President Trump.  Both of them reiterated their commitment to extirpating wokeness from the armed forces, refocusing the soldiery on fighting America's enemies, and pursuing a culture of merit rather than DEI and entitlement.  Contrary to claims in the mainstream media that Hegseth and Trump would announce the institution of the Fourth Reich at this military conclave, in fact there was very little to report in terms of policy changes.  If the nature of the meeting made some woke officers "uncomfortable", well, there's a simple solution to their feelings of angst: go volunteer to fight for Ukraine, which you probably love more than America anyway.

  1. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Maybe its hard to say just where the far left stands just now. It faces now an America set on returning it to the gutter it rose from in the '60s. And so many of them, not having done a useful thing in their lives aside from cursory tidying up of storefront "community organizing centers" with loving portraits of ":Che" and Fidel, Mao, Alinsky and Hillary just can't imagine what they are going to do for a living in a restored America!

The Marxist core is as determined as ever to force its ways on America. Their apparently dominant current surge to the VERY far left makes this obvious I think. But their apologists and those the politically correct Inquisition had terrified are beginning to emerge from their fog. "Why, these people aren't inevitable and invulnerable. We never liked them anyway you know!" Most of them can hardly be blamed; it seemed that these incipient totalitarians were well on the way to tyrannical rule. Counterintuitive America hating political correctness was EVERYWHERE. And in so many settings if you expressed doubt you were out of a job.

Then Rush Limbaugh exemplified for us unapologetic nose to nose disdain and scorn for the onrushing far left. Fox followed and DJT and Maga have shown us; these haters of everything America cherishes CAN be beaten; they are NOT inevitable. And finally believing that, we have empowered a President of perhaps unprecedented determination to redeem our long since proven American way from the vicious onslaught it has endured from the hate filled "American" far left for 60 years now. Nah, this winning is aces. Lets have ever so much more of it.!

  2. Dr. Waddy from Jack: There is much irony in the fact that some military officers may embrace wokeism. For many years now the military has set a telling example that minority members can advance and prosper in a setting exemplary of proven American values.

Those who advance wokeism in the military choose to ignore this fact. And they are "out of it" now with this administration as was confirmed by Sec. Hegseth and President Trump today.

Starting with draft dodging Slick Willy and his vindictive consort, the military has been treated by the America hating far left as a handy source of compliant subjects for social experimentation having nothing to do(other than to damage it beyond measure) with war fighting readiness. Under this administration; their treasonous intent is fully acknowledged and met with unrelenting resistance, reform and complete discreditation!

  3. Jack, so much of what has occurred in this country since 2015 was unthinkable before Trump came on the scene. He has broken the monopoly that a smug elite once enjoyed on our political life, and frankly on our economy and culture too. He has added a welcome, if boisterous, dose of "democracy" to what was for far too long an insider's game. He's fortunate that our former overlords were so isolated from reality, by their very smugness, that they mounted an ineffectual rearguard action to smother him and his movement. They left the door open a crack, and that's all we needed! America, and the world, will never be the same.

Quite right, Jack: merit and patriotism, together, have made the U.S. military into what it is: the finest fighting force the world has ever known. (I suppose a trillion dollars a year in funding doesn't hurt either.) Thank heavens that Hegseth and Trump understand the need to hold fast to those timeless values.

  4. Dr. Waddy from Jack: You summed it up well; the Age of Trump is proving to be extraordinary beyond previous imagination and those who reflexively excoriate it and him are proving themselves mindlessly atavistic refugees from their '60s salad days of trashing America and , in their high, high dudgeon, bitterly vindictive at being proven wrong by this insolently unapologetic capitalist President who graces us now.

  5. Dr. Waddy from Jack: The peace agreement as described contains some bitter pills for an "increasingly isolated" Israel(what? that's something new is it?). I believe Israel has no death penalty and so the proposed release of 250 prisoners serving life must include some very, very evil people who Israel must count on encountering again. And "amnesty " for Hamas fighters? That has to cause intense pain for Israel.

The walkout by those offended by PM Netanyahu's very presence at the U.N. podium is exemplary of the incalculable antipathy Israel faces in a still very cruel world. So its "increasingly isolated" for having done what it had to do in justified reaction to the neomedieval horror worked upon it by Hamas savages on Oct. 7? That stands to the intense discredit of even otherwise highly civilized countries like the UK and France who by their compliance , no matter their good intentions, blithely support a Palestinian state which would eagerly host all possible support for a final infamously Jew hating annihilation of Israel. They would not succeed: the noble Israelis would defeat it as they have all other existential threats but at the cost of a hard, hard life as a garrison state. Fortunately and deservedly for Israel and to our immeasurable credit, Israel has our resolute support under our stalwart and reliable President. But can it count on our unrelentingly lasting support? It knows that , due to the workings of American democracy , it cannot.

The terrible destruction done innocent Gazans is attributable solely to their barbarian Hamas occupiers who have, with brutal cynicism, planted themselves among them to deflect so very much of the credulous world's condemnation upon Israel for necessarily defending itself. rather than upon the dead souls of Hamas and its enablers.

Israel and PM Netanyahu display noble restraint in being willing to countenance such a settlement for the benefit of a perceived world peace. The war has , of course, cost them very, very much. And they make this concession knowing that down the road yet lies a final reckoning with today's manifestation of that ancient abomination:murderous hatred for the high and lasting civilization of Judaiism.

  6. Dr. Waddy from Jack: I wonder what Schumer's end game is in this shutdown. Surely he must know by now that President Trump does what he says he'll do. The President has said he will take the opportunity to fire many Federal employees ,instead of furloughing , in his relentless and dead serious campaign to cut this Federal monster down to size and teach it some respect. Does Schumer want this? Maybe he still thinks he can back this President down. Good luck on that.

As a former state government employee I am not at all happy to see the many dutiful people included in the prospective cuts put to such personal anxiety and difficulty. Maybe many of them did not fully realize that many of their positions were created by unrestrained, irresponsible and unsustainable government overreach. The blame for that lies squarely on an American left which sneered at NECESSITY being a prime consideration for creditable expenditure of taxpayer funds. " If it 'feels' right, do it" is their dreamy maxim . We've defunded forced taxpayer support for such as PBS and the Education Dep't and the world has not come to an end.
