Friends, the big news today is that Trump bête noire James Comey, former Director of the FBI, has been indicted on two counts stemming from his efforts to undermine Trump as president during his first term. Democrats are AGHAST, as per usual, at this supposedly flagrant abuse of power, and Republicans are encouraged, since precious few Democrats, lefties, and establishment types have ever been held accountable for, well, anything. Could we see a lot more indictments handed down soon? Will these indictments translate into convictions? Assuming the trials are held in and around the Beltway, and that the juries are drawn from these benighted regions, convictions won't come easily. Nonetheless, this is an important first step in holding the Deep State's collective feet to the fire. I wish the relevant prosecutors all the best!

Very possible, Ray! Frankly, I'm not sure anyone should go to prison for lying to Congress regardless. I mean, telling the truth in a Congressional hearing is usually considered bad form. When in Rome...
ReplyDeleteDr. Waddy from Jack: I think we will see JUSTICE done in whatever form called for by the law and evidence to right the lawfare wrongs done to DJT.(eg. Russia gate but much more). Its seldom that one done such injustice has such power to direct their own redemption ; the far left risked all on the assumption that either their "critical legal studies" gifted ehh, "expansive" view of the law would enable them to prevent his running again but that if he did manage to get that far he would surely lose. Ooops! Now what? Well Dems, try "do the crime do the time" on for size because you are going to be living it. And you may be wearing the "Federal Blue" (prison garb) you fully intended for him and which you did, with vicious and presumptuous inhumanity , fix on General Flynn.

Instead you inspired his "finest hour" as " they smote me hip and thigh and right merrily did I return their blows!" He is Nemesis to you now and like that Greek semidiety he is unrelenting in seeking deserved satisfaction of you for your hubris (unwarranted pride). Dr. Waddy from Jack: I listened to a presentation on a channel which often offers authors describing their books. The book was Marxism in America and appeared to be well researched and objective. Until, that is , he held forth on present day especially conservative anticommunism . For that he reached the apex of an increasingly scornful and dismissive attitude toward those who believe that Marxism is thoroughly condemned . I didn't hear his entire presentation but what I heard, which reached from Marx's days in the British Library to the present he conveniently chose not to mention the 100 million killed by Marxists both in their own countries ,those unlucky enough to be subjected by them and the incalculable number of unfortunates whose lives were ruined by this pernicious doctrine. Imagine being a Russian living from 1917 to 1988! That evil is the true historic evaluation of Marxism and it eclipses any academically detached intellectual arguments in its favor. We are probably about to see that reality reaffirmed in NYC. Mamdani's Marxist apology for criminals will exacerbate an already "criminals gone wild" regime there and make life there unendurable for so many.

He revealed who he was when he broke FBI norms with the Clinton email press conference — something the DOJ’s own IG called a “dangerous example.” And when it served him, he admitted leaking Trump memos through a friend to trigger a special counsel.

I don't think it's any coincidence that he is the first significant figure to be indicted. Hopefully, he follows form.
That to say... it's possible, his self centeredness has alienated the left and the right. Coupled with his pomposity maybe it leads to other valuable sensitive information. Heaven knows he's been privy to it.
DeleteRichie, it's very clear that Comey considers himself a (heroic) martyr, but who on the Left doesn't these days? I suppose one could question whether Comey is truly "on the Left", but maybe that terminology is outdated. There are basically two camps remaining: those who devote themselves -- mind, body, and soul -- to hating Donald Trump, and those who have better things to do and a genuine desire to move the country forward. We all know which side Comey is on.
