Waddy Does It Again!

Friends, forget "excellence in broadcasting".  At the Newsmakers show, we're taking it to the next level: PERFECTION in broadcasting.  I don't want to set the bar too high, but listening to this week's show is pretty much like sipping sweet ambrosia from Zeus's golden chalice while Aphrodite massages your feet.  With that said, this week Brian and I discuss the confusing strategic picture in the Russia-Ukraine War, the political perceptions of how Trump's trade war is unfolding, the significance of the "Hands Off" protests, and more!

In other news, Trump has decided to exempt smartphones and computers from his massive tariffs on China.  It's an interesting move that will spare U.S. consumers some angst, but will also confirm in the minds of Trump haters the erratic nature of our trade policy.

  1. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Well, the utterly reflexive DJT haters will seize on anything they think will support their visceral hatred of DJT and float their leaky boats. . A Fox commentator wandered among the serried ranks of some "hands off" paragons and asked them to explain what makes them hate DJT so much. Many of them replied with words to the effect of "because he's so Trumpy". They comprehend but little of objectivity and they have no need of it in fulfilling their unquestioning allegiance to the Marxists who "guide " their outrage. Maybe they just exited some DEI sweetened class in a traditionally honorable discipline like history or anthropology. I doubt if many of them can endure economics or statistics. Far too lacking in emotional content those studies are.

For those so very probably lacking in understanding of but the most MSNBC informed explanation of the nature of trade relations in the real world for which they have so much contempt, their" judgementalism" on DJT casts much doubt on their withering evaluation of his conduct at a level light years beyond their ken.

  2. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Re the latest Newsmaker broadcast:

Good point about how these "hands off" demonstrators cannot claim the support of a broad demographic of our country. Naturally the MSM celebrates an influence for them far removed from the reality of its futiley neo Vietnam era pusillanimousness. I mean, Dan Rather is still around and no doubt willing to advise them in misrepresenting our country's defensive measures. But America is a country well schooled now by decades of vicious MSM antiamericanism and MAGA is a consequence of belated perception of that treason. America knows now that the far left has always hidden its totalitarian intent behind the cynical ":establishment screen it adopted after its "revolution " failed in '72 .

  3. Dr. Waddy from Jack:Pelosi and her ilk are viscerally unable to agree with anything DJT does. To them and imposed upon their mindless flock is the conviction that WHATEVER their unimpeachably just wisdom perceives at any nanosecond is GOSPEL and any doubt of that commits the doubter to the phantom zone. That of course was the position their Stalinist and Maoist idols took. They are incapable of ANYTHING else, let alone any miniscule endorsement of DJT's policy or demeanor. He dares to oppose them and he "deserves " the sour fate of all "counterrrevolutionaries".Oh that's a good way to win America back!

Oh my, a young and energetic Dem faction arises in opposition to this stance! But their objection is that it is far from radical enough! Let them persist in this misapprehension.

  4. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Sensible Dems are few and far between; you are right. The Dem party has hitched its wagon to the far left and it fears that vindictive left's willingness to use "any means possible" to keep them in thrall. That radical horde's campaign to harry DJT into catatonic restraint "fills their dreams with perturbation". The Dems have embraced, as have so many out of desperation, the succor of those who bear only the most cynical contempt for them and their past creditability.

  5. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Moneyed dems and leftists withdrawing from financial markets and creating consequential perception of the imminence of recession or depression: revolutionaries welcome national economic travail. It can make otherwise unthinkable measures appear to be called for and if disaster is not at hand, then make it so! There was real fear of that happening in the '30s; I think FDR thought it was possible and that much of the New Deal was meant to prevent marxist "revolution". I think alot of the radical profs who conned credulous boomers got their convictions during the Depression.

Still, I think most people are loathe to give up material well being for a cause. Look at the Obamas. They were going to "fundamentally transform" an erring and essentially unjust Amerika, by golly! They had eight years to do it and we must rejoice that they did not move with the dispatch manifested by DJT. Nah, the perks of office were too good to risk by "revolutionary"dysfunction and disorder. My guess is that comfortably tenured marxists in those ivyed college towns and "Old Main"don't really want to hit the barricades.

  6. Dr. Waddy from Jack: You could nuke Moscow into a parking lot (just as a warning)and the Russians would not budge from their refusal to allow Ukrainian membership in NATO. That's still the fundamental issue, the bottom line. Nato expansion has cornered them and they will not take any more of it. We can deplore their intransigence unceasingly but Russia has had it! We can stop the killing by painfully accepting this onerous reality.

  7. Hmm. You're right, of course, that no one wants to be poor, especially the rich, but welcoming, or even fostering, a recession wouldn't necessarily make the rich less rich. I mean, it might do so temporarily, or they might "short" their investments at the right time and get even richer. Bottom line: I think more than a few lefties, even those of means, HOPE we get hammered by a recession, because they feel that it may be the only way to exorcise the orange-haired demon once and for all.

  8. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Yes! "Never let a good crisis go to waste" said Clinton enabler and ridiculous Presidential aspirant Rahm Emanuel. And Lenin expectorated words to the effect of "why wait for the inevitable certainties preached by Marx to take place? Lets make the required chaos happen now!"
