Friends, lefties are talking (gleefully) about a "Trump slump" these days, and magnifying recent market volatility into total economic "carnage", but the truth, at least with respect to the economy, is that it's very early days, and it's by no means clear that a recession will happen, let alone a bad one. Be this as it may, there is real, albeit modest, softening in Trump's job approval numbers, which all pollsters are picking up, even the ones we like. The market contraction probably explains most of this, but it's more than possible that consistent, vitriolic media narratives about "authoritarianism" and "chaos" may be having an effect. I'm personally disappointed that the legacy media is still standing, and is in some respects experiencing a revival. To me, the Trump haters don't seem cowed -- they seem invigorated and more deranged than ever. What's more, for all the political headwinds the Democrats face, there's no evidence that their essential viability has changed much. Sure, we can hope they go into an AOC-powered death spiral, but the likelihood is that they will remain a potent threat, and they will weaponize every mistake that Trump makes...and there've been a few! All this is sobering, but at the same time we're only 90 days in, and we have all the resources of the executive branch, and some of the resources of the other two branches, at our disposal. Let's see if we can't advance the ball a bit further.

ReplyDeleteIt is my fervent hope that leftist women will stop having children completely. No leftist offspring means less and less pollution/contamination from their sick ideology. In order to speed this along, leftist women need to get voluntarily sterilized, practice advanced birth control, with abortion as a last resort. Lesbianism should also be encouraged. Advocating for zero birthrates for leftist women is pure "Marxism".

ReplyDeleteHe admitted and it makes much sense, there will be lower points. Surely, not nearly all of his measures to return our Federal gov't to common sense will succeed. We can take lessons from such failures but I hold, we need not be discouraged. We are plowing new ground and are well taken in our efforts. Our opponents are strongly wrong but they are not invulnerable; far from it: eg. the Nov. election. Take heart!
Moreover, to honor the personal sacrifice made by DJT, his family and Elon Musk and his family and employees, WE MUST NOT WAVER in our unrelenting support for their reforms! They listened to us and they know what we want , do what we wish for and they say what we want to say. What more could we ask? Any good fight produces setbacks and casualties. We have now resolute leaders in the vital task of saving our country from the heretofore doubted but now manifested curse of Marxism which is forced on us with grim and inhuman totalitarian determination and the naive support of so many even of good will. We have willing and selfless advocates! If we do not , with faith and conviction, back them through the advances and the setbacks of this second Civil War, then we are lost and we might as well reconcile ourselves to "Dear Leader"ship and totalitarianism in America itself.
The present beleagured "American" far left squeals about impending dictatorship under President Trump. Pish tosh: its just what they have been doing their best to establish since the '60s. Just think, in 2016 they thought they were about to seal the deal; so much for that. Now, this latest rebuff; their fragile emotional makeup may be unable to stand it.
As Thomas Paine said in the mortal and fearful hazard of 1776-1778 "he who now stands " will realize unending gratitude and satisfaction. Lets follow their example in this critical time for America!

The problem is that, for all the efforts many countries have made to increase birth rates, they just keep going down, down, down. The cultural currents are running very strongly in the direction of egoism rather than procreation. Is there ANYTHING that could reverse the trend??? I just don't know. Possibly breeding machines would do the trick, coupled with android nannies. If women could outsource both pregnancy AND mothering, I imagine they could put up with a child or two lurking in a separate wing of their house...

Why are declining population numbers a bad thing? They aren't, in themselves, but a society that doesn't procreate is, by definition, a society that will become dominated by the aged, and that introduces all sorts of problems. A society that doesn't procreate is, almost inevitably, one in which the vast majority of young people will never be forced to grow up, and in which egoism will become oppressive. A society that doesn't procreate is also one in which immigration will be the only way to replenish a stagnating workforce, and the Left will do its best to politicize and indoctrinate immigrants. It's not the raw numbers of people that concern me, therefore, but the structure and nature of a post-procreative society.
