Deliverance

Friends, the day we hoped for, but strongly suspected would never arrive, is here!  Donald J. Trump is once again President of the United States.  He's living in the White House, signing executive orders and proclamations and pardons aplenty, and generally stirring up a political hornet's nest.  Whoa, Nelly!  The next four years ain't gonna be dull, that much is clear.

First, there was the inauguration itself, held, ironically, in the U.S. Capitol, where Trump haters, four short years ago, thought they had buried Trump and Trumpism once and for all, since he and it were thoroughly discredited (in their eyes) by the famous "insurrection".  Well, apparently not!  Then there's Trump's speech to consider.  He laid out much of his agenda in extremely stark and unapologetic terms, and he appeared to commit the U.S. to the reacquisition of the Panama Canal!  He spent the rest of the day receiving the accolades of supporters and enemies alike, and rolling out hundreds of initiatives designed to speed the country on the path to GREATNESS.  It's enough to make your head spin...in a good way.

Meanwhile, as expected, Sleepy Joe sleepwalked off the stage for ever, but not before issuing a litany of pardons to Dr. Fauci, Liz Cheney, and many of his family members.  Gee, what a surprise!  Of course, if Trump and Bondi decide to get vengeful, there are still plenty of blips on their radar...

The first member of Trump's cabinet, Marco Rubio (Secretary of State), has been approved unanimously by the Senate.  That's a promising start, but things will get hairier from here on out.  Still, all Trump's nominees are expected to gain approval.

Finally, the "resistance" is already underway.  Granted, the numbers of protestors have been downright pathetic, and the energy on the Left is minimal, but the federal employees' union is swinging into action to oppose the ravages of Elon Musk's "Department of Government Efficiency".  You can see why!  Musk represents an existential threat to the bureaucracy and the Deep State.  A few early legal victories/injunctions against Musk could take the wind out of DOGE's sails in a hurry.

  1. Dr. Waddy from Jack: I think the far left has no moral authority in "bleating bitter" about DJT's pardons and possible commutations for most of the Jan. 6 protestors. I mean," protestors" and other euphemisms were the terms blithely presumed by antiamerica to describe the 2020 arsonists and murderers, who viciously immolated much private and public property and went for the kill against the police. They also imposed always eventually murderous Marxist dictatorship on large neighborhoods in Seattle and Portland. And gee, some of the Jan. 6 people have endured jail and prison for several years . One would think the convict loving dems would be touched, touched, by compassion for them.

The far left had been somewhat sustained so far by a forlorn hope that DJT is just a big mouth and wouldn't actually depart far from the customary GOP apologetic retrenchment when in nominal power - eg."oh let's not be 'judgemental' after all ". Sancta simplicitas dems!

If the election didn''t confirm it, let DJT's already demonstrated very immediate fulfillment of his promises settle it: the far left's worst nightmare is fully upon it now. Nemesis has arrived at their door in the form of an hombre they cannot intimidate.

They may very well persist in trying to force their smoky, unsupportable, characteristically tragically wrongheaded (just ask Cal. about that)marxist dreams . They will meet unrelenting contradiction from a revitalized common sense America this time.

To use a term popular in the flyover country culture so despised by the haughty coastal elites: "what goes around comes around " (or the reverse, I can't keep it straight.) If the dems decide to rejoin America and exile their insane marxist faction, they will be welcomed (once we are convinced of their "fundamental transformation"). Meanwhile America will stand over them, Jack Dempsey like, ready to smack 'em down if they don't renounce their 60 year resolve to destroy our country. It took us awhile to stand up but we don't rile easily, unlike the frantic, emotionally captured far left. But now we ARE riled.

  2. RAY TO DR. WADDY

I'm glad you titled this article "DELIVERANCE" just like the famous movie with the same name. With that said, can we just think of anything The Left does to muddy the waters of the Trump agenda as repeats of "Sodomy Creek"?

Is it "ironic" that a key actor in the movie 'DELIVERANCE", Jon Voight, spoke at Trump's inauguration festivities and other events? Will Trump's administration team be able to survive the journey on that "political" version of the movie river, as it is attacked by degenerate Leftists?

  4. RAY TO DR. WADDY

Let us hope that at the end of the next four years, Trump and his people will "flood/drown" The Leftists with an ideological dam, just like the one that is being built at the end of the movie "DELIVERANCE."

  5. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Oh yes, the exalted " Resistance", the "cause", the "movement" (as it were) has already embarked on its consummate duty unto very political destruction should it be required of them by outrageous fortune. "Oh for a muse of fire to ascend the brightest heaven of invention . . ." so that their exploits may never be purged from the eternal annals of righteous dudgeon!

Naturally they have gone to law, with 3 suits so far alleging, among other unforgiveable offenses, political incorrectness, financial status violating all parameters of DEI, and (gasp!), as they say it , a pronounced bias for Maga and GOP doctrine, of those privileged heretics who dare question their long established institutional financial righteousness - Musk and his gang of one percenters. Oh what fearful revelation is this, to be tasked by the unimpeachaable "among" us. Pardon me while I gag! Now that their amoral lawfare has utterly failed them they yet seek to prosecute their totalitarian prejudices unto judicial approval. But, sorry Dems, down the line waits an implacably lawful Scotus and you don't stand a very good chance with them. OH, so you'll just wear DJT down ehh? Good luck with that and uhh, he doesn't stand alone anymore, ever!

A commentator on Fox today had a very interesting take on this: in 2017 DJT had to fight the suffocating mass of Obama Federal Judiciary appointments. Now, the many Federal Judges DJT appointed in his first term are there with 4 years of experience, including , most to be celebrated, three Scotus Justices instead of the far left radicals Hillary would have empowered. The lawfare Dems would have , during the desert years, driven from insolent presumption of such high office these interlopers had they been able to do so. Too bad.

  6. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Charles Schumer's tactics in dealing with DJT's Cabinet nominees are utterly political and have nothing to do with the nominees' qualifications. He judges each one on the possibility of political gain by tasking them or the advisability to front a "cooperative" stance and file it away for future use. Charles has been at this for a long time, courtesy of NYC. One remembers his dismissal of the Clinton impeachment as "ridiculous" when 2/3 of the US Congress had already registered its will that Clinton be sent packing.

Due to his "prolonged " tenure, Charles also takes a very long view of things. "Oh we'll take some lumps but these 'Americans'can't prevail against our inevitable takeover."

So Charles will seek in this process to sew as much dysfunction as he can just now. But he lacks the power to stop it. "Elections have consequences" - B. Obama.

  7. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Hey Al (Gore) c'mon up and experience the "inconvenient truth" of our icebowl up here. Oh, that's right. New Orleans has a foot of snow in places. That's pretty inconvenient! So you can go there in your private gas guzzling plane and commiserate with them. I'm sure they will be open to your gospel of humanly evil global warming and its endless consequences. By the way, aren't the existential catastrophic predictions you and AOC have made coming due? (BTW, the CA. wildfires have been raging regularly since well before the profligate human civilization and its comforts you so obviously enjoy.) Drill baby drill; elections have consequences as you well know.

  8. Ray from Jack: Yeah, some of the people depicted in Deliverance could put one in mind of the reality of the exemplary "savages" Rousseau so idealized in his commencement of the "fundamental transformation" of the Enlightenment to unimaginably inhuman Marxism. Them ridge runners would have made short shrift of Rousseau himself had he ventured into the welcoming wilderness.

  9. Jack, you have to wonder what the lefties are thinking about the first few days of Trump. As vile as they have always held him to be, has he actually EXCEEDED their expectations in terms of vileness?

Ray, thanks for the reminder that Jon Voight was in "Deliverance". I had forgotten all about that. One wonders what revisionist progressive film critics and cultural analysts make of that film in retrospect? The whiny, woke verbiage almost writes itself, eh?

Will Trump be able to power through judicial obstructionism more easily now than he did in 2017? I dunno. I'm not sure the balance of ALL federal judgeships has changed much. Biden undid much of the progress that Trump had made. True, SCOTUS is mostly reliable, but things take an awfully long time to get there. I suspect the Dems will have marginal success gumming up the works.
