Friends, this might be one of the most consequential polls you've seen so far this year. There are endless polls telling us what we already know: that Biden leads among Democrats, that Trump leads among Republicans, and that a potential Biden-Trump rematch would probably be very close. But here's something you didn't know: adding Cornel West into the mix has a decisive effect, particularly in the battleground state of Michigan. Trump gains a lead (albeit a small one) if West makes it onto the ballot. That's not hugely surprising, given that West will steal a certain number of black and progressive votes from Biden. It's not inevitable, either, since West may or may not stick it out until next November, and Democrats may or may not succeed in keeping him off the ballot. After all, for Democrats, "democracy" means giving voters as few choices as humanly possible -- preferably, just one!

And here's an interesting story about a Democratic proposal to ban "assault weapons" surreptitiously by imposing prohibitively high taxes on their purchase. Now, you needn't take this proposal seriously in the short run, but, in the long run, if Democrats ever seize control of the White House, both Houses of Congress, and the Supreme Court (and they easily could), a "solution" like this very well might be imposed on the country, and I predict that, in general, financial leverage will play a central role in the Left's plan to implement its agenda and crush anything and everything resembling an opposition.

ReplyDeleteRay, I dunno how many brains Cornel West has (I assume, one, or at least a substantial fraction thereof), but he's got moxie, that's for sure. Anyone who challenges the Dem nominee FROM THE LEFT will be persona non grata among the entire establishment FOR LIFE. I think he should be encouraged. Frankly, I'm tempted to donate to West's campaign. In a sense, he'll be fighting every day to elect Trump, and he may do it far more effectively than Trump himself!

Dr. Waddy from Jack: Here we go again with the gungrabber big lie about supposedly easily available "assault weapons" like AR 15. AR 15. is not an assault weapon. An assault weapon gun must have full automatic capability; when the trigger is held back it discharges continuously. This type was developed mostly during WWII because of WWI experience which showed that volume of fire was more effective than the accuracy afforded by rifles which fire once for each trigger pull. AR 15 fires once for every trigger pull and cannot do otherwise. Only military versions of AR 15 can be fired automatically. They are already illegal for almost all civilians. If you armed our military with AR 15 they would be driven off the battlefield in a NY minute. Oh I suppose AR 15 may look "icky" but it probably looks so to criminals when law abiding intended victims possess it.

But you are right; an antiamerican restoration on the court would of course precipitate a landslide of cases designed to give the Court the pretext for enacting the fundamental intent of the left to gut the Amendment. Why are they so determined to do this? Not to stop violence of any type.Their biggest fans are violent prison inmates, all of whom they would free; in NY they are already trying to forgive lifers who are 55 and have served (gasp) 15 tragic, inconvenient years!55 years old assures nonviolence yes? The left celebrates the extreme violence committed on unborn children and it rejoices in antifa style mayhem. No, their firm goal is to to politically disempower lawful gun owners and our NRA ; the elected NY AG has used her powers to attempt just that. The antiamericans know lawful gun owners are one of the pillars of the conservative heresy and that we support laws ,law makers and candidates who are also conservative on a wide range of issues beyond guns. That explains their vicious totalitarian onslaught on our Constitutional gun rights. It won't be the last.

Believe me, from my intense daily experience with criminals I'm convinced many of them rejoice in this perception and are pleased to talk "revolution". But ; if the antiamerican left takes over, why, it's task done, they will summarily put street trash to total disempowerment.
ReplyDeleteRay, the only thing the Left hates more than a white conservative is a non-white conservative...so I'm pretty sure Trump would gain nothing by identifying as a person of color. Why, even if he had his gonads removed, I suspect the only thing he would achieve is the definitive end of the transgender movement (which would be an ironic twist).
ReplyDeleteJack, the irrationality of gun control movements hasn't slowed them down in every other Western country and, alas, I strongly suspect that in the long run it won't here either.
Jack, you forgot the underlying motivation behind the gutting of the 2nd Amendment. The Left feels that power should be wielded not by the people, but by the experts, i.e. them. Ergo, guns should be wielded by persons of their choosing, in circumstances that they dictate. Criminal violence is kind of the exception that proves the rule, which is why criminals must be temporarily and comfortably rehoused until they're ready to bend the knee to establishment hegemony (but not necessarily to stop raping and pillaging).
Dr. Waddy from Jack: Your point on the gun grabbers is well taken. I would stick with my view as a major factor in their disingenuous quest for a "public safety" of which they are a very significant threat and see your view as an equally creditable position.
