Oh No You Didn't!

Friends, in a move that has brought cheers from leftists and Democrats, the Fulton County D.A., a diehard progressive Dem, has brought 13 charges against DJT related to his efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia.  What's more, she's charged 18 other Trump supporters with similar crimes, on the theory that all of them were participants in a vast right-wing criminal conspiracy.  The sheer moxie of this woman is impressive!  In essence, the Left is aiming to criminalize political speech that it disdains.  Will the trial go ahead?  It's very possible, and, boy, will it be a circus!!!  You'll find an expanded analysis from me on this subject tomorrow.

In other news, you may have heard that RFK, Jr. briefly endorsed restrictions on "abortion rights" after the first trimester of pregnancy...and then hours later his campaign insisted that he was merely confused and actually he loves abortion and encourages everyone to get at least one.

It ain't easy bein' Ron DeSantis!  Even though Biden and Trump are runaway favorites to be their respective parties' presidential nominees, it's DeSantis who's getting targeted by negative ads more than both of them put together.  Why?  DJT is trying to nip his chief rival in the bud.  So far he's doing a good job of it, but then pretty much everyone had written off Joe Biden early in 2020 too, and how did that turn out?

Finally, in a legal dispute emblematic of the times we live in, a transgender "woman" is suing "her" ex-boyfriend for the prompt return of "her" ex-testicles, now reduced to popsicle form.  Who gives someone their testicles and then demands them back???  Talk about an Indian giver!  Oh man, now I've really crossed the line, haven't I?  I meant "Native American giver", naturally.

Your "puns" about Indian givers have been noticed by The People's Secret State Political Security Police, so plan on a 2 a.m. raid on your home. After a trial by a People's Court, you will be sent to a reeducation camp in Montana, or liquidated. Whatever the outcome, you will live forever in the state archives as an "Enemy of the People."
Your ONLY alternative to escape these punishments is to undergo removal of your testicles, and then present them in a bottle of alcohol to CDC for research. Sorry to have to tell you about these harsh measures for your treasonable talk, but better now then later.

And the theme music for Trump's troubles in Georgia could be that old song "The Night The Lights Went Out in Georgia"? Yes? No?

Welll no way are we gonna leave that be! Do ANY THANG to learn that Trump not to give no truck.Let him skate and pretty soon all them Americans would get to thinkin' democracy.

Just morbid "joking" about donating testicles to the CDC, but the article about the trans "woman" suing her boyfriend shows just how nutty our society has become, which of course you already know. It is a sickness built into our society that few politicians will be able to remedy. Our country has become a mental ward.

  5. Dr. Waddy from Jack: For most of its history, even within living memory, America has had little time for frivolous idealism and badly conceived experimentation. Neo Caligulan excess sometimes results;eg. Hollywood. The hard earned blessed peace and prosperity of the '50s gave my generation freedom from some of the cares which had always been humanity's load. Our conduct has provided a social, political and economic laboratory and the tentative results rate caution. As we flocked to academia we were in our naivete easy marks for cynical and vicious marxists who persuaded far too many of us of America's consummate "evil". We sneered at people who had weathered the Depression and the war and who just wanted to be untroubled while they enjoyed the astonishing prosperity their efforts had wrought. Our Monkees castigated ". . . Mr. Green , he's got a TV in every room. . ." Maybe such libertine excess helped Mr. Green forget the sight of Auschwitz . Countries of harder mien understandably view us as silly swells. Essentially we are not
that degraded,at least not yet but who can blame them for perceiving us so? Bad things have happened when other countries have acted on this partial misapprehension of us. Does it condemn prosperity? Plenty sure does beat want but we would benefit by fully recognizing it's sometimes unsavory effect on human nature.

  6. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Above what I meant by . . "excess"was that which resulted not from hard times but from an "anything goes" attitude fostered by prosperity for which informed gratitude is lacking.

  7. Dr. Waddy from Jack: NFL football is seen by an ever increasing international audience. Yet every Super Bowl halftime we seem to celebrate the tawdriness of our ubiquitous popular culture. It takes some crust to expect the world not to think less of us for it and by extension, for much of the assinine humbug of our political culture.

  8. Ray, I have no doubt that I'm on numerous "lists" as a nonconforming academic and enemy of the state, BUT, as I have made clear on numerous occasions, I ain't no dummy and so, if and when the leftists seize absolute power and stamp out conservatism once and for all, I will be HAPPY to sing Joe Biden's praises, talk up the virtues of DEI, get misty as I contemplate the "climate crisis", and in general prostrate myself before the gods of neo-Marxism. In return, I ask only that I be allowed to keep my testicles (well, at least one testicle), my Cadillacs, and my tennis racquet. It's called "The Art of the Deal", Ray!

Jack, you put your finger on it: Trump must be destroyed as an example to the rest of us! And what a shining example it will be, too. Why, if the billionaire president can be squished like a bug, what chance do WE have???

Jack, I'm not so sure we aren't "degraded", at least culturally and morally, as Ray points out, but I hazard that it has little to do with our "plenty". Our prosperity gives us leisure time to think up all sorts of neo-Marxist nonsense, yes, but I've never seen a shred of evidence that the poor are intrinsically superior to the rich, or that adversity necessarily edifies. I'd say it REVEALS much, but it doesn't fundamentally change us. I put our degradation down to the sort of people we've allowed to rule us, and to be stewards of our high and popular culture. Talk about degenerates!!!

To your point, Jack, many have underestimated our reserves of strength, yes, and the fact that we may not be sophisticates doesn't mean that we're pushovers. Besides which, as far as military strength goes, it bears repeating that, these days, a tiny number of excellent warriors is all that it takes to dominate any battlespace. 99% of Americans may be hopeless as potential frontline infantry, for instance, but that still leaves over 3 million who aren't!

  9. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Good point: irresistible, unmitigated adversity wounds a people. The saturnine national personality Russia so often manifests is a good example.
