Dr. Waddy: Oh the irony of it. Trump, the penultimate urbanite, delivers for rural America. My close friend, a logger in very rural north central PA, told me in May ,2016 that he knew Trump was his kind of guy. Trump's competence continues to manifest itself.
ReplyDeleteIn a way, I feel that Obama made Trump's job easy -- he just has to stop undermining America, and he looks like a, well, stable genius! Trump also knows where his bread is buttered, and he needs rural America to deliver for him in 2020. I trust it will.
ReplyDeleteI just hope, Dr. Waddy, that this Immigration issue won't be his undoing. I'm afraid, this will be a sticky issue to deal with.
ReplyDeleteEvery issue is sticky these days, it seems! I think Trump has made a generous offer on immigration, but you're right that it's a hot potato and the media consistently reports the issue in a Trump-hostile way. Republicans need to remind people, therefore, that we're not "anti-immigrant". We're anti-criminals!

DeleteAmen to that! I still believe that politicians in charge of "sanctuary cities" should be charged with crimes... That would encourage a resurgence of respect for the law!
