Make Columbus Great Again?

Friends, as you know, the assault on America's history is intensifying every day.  Protests and attempts at vandalism of statues and monuments are now daily occurrences.  Nonetheless, historians and patriots are pushing back against the wrecking ball of leftist ideology.  I recommend to you this article, which is a balanced, sensible defense of the importance of Christopher Columbus to U.S. and world history.  Was Columbus perfect?  Surely not, but more than anyone else he helped to bring about what we know as America -- a fusion of cultures, albeit not always harmonious, based in the western hemisphere.  In a sense, therefore, to reject Columbus is to reject America itself.  Unacceptable!  I, for one, say we should keep Columbus Day, keep honoring Columbus, and keep celebrating America, warts and all.

Republicans in Congress: It's Time to Develop a Backbone

Needless to say, so far the performance of the Republican Congress has been underwhelming.  The repeal and replace of Obamacare was blocked by a few recalcitrant Senators.  Tax reform is still meandering through the legislative process.  Now Democrats assure us that President Trump's border wall will never see the light of day.  Enough is enough!  My latest article is a call to arms for Republican Senators and Representatives.  I believe that the budget votes upcoming, and especially the question of whether Congress will fund the wall, can be a turning point.  Read on, and see why:

Friends, you may have seen on Twitter or Facebook some of the vicious hatred which my appearance on CNN drew out of the left.  The consensus of CNN-watching internet trolls seems to be that I am a doo-doo head who deserves to be fired for daring to disagree with leftist orthodoxy.  Well, fortunately life and academia don't work that way.  I'm not going anywhere, and I will continue to stand for what I believe is right.  You can rest easy on that score.
