Long Live the Shah!

Friends, something big is happening...in Iran, where mass protests have the regime of the mullahs running scared.  Iranians have groaned under theocratic tyranny for decades, and now there's widespread talk of bringing back the Pahlavis, i.e. the royal family that was ousted in 1979.  I say: hear hear!  A mostly secular constitutional monarchy would be a vast improvement on the mess that Iran has now.  It would be wonderful to see Iran become, once again, a key U.S. ally instead of a regional troublemaker.  Let's hope it comes to pass.  It's all in the hands of the Iranian people, at this stage.

In other news, the usual suspects -- elderly white liberals -- are incensed by recent violence between ICE agents and anti-ICE protestors.  Rioters are an annoyance to the federal government, but one has to wonder whether at some point (blue) city and state authorities might become a bigger threat...  Those Dems are getting awfully unhinged about Trumpian "fascism"!  Nothing is impossible, in the age of Trump.  It bears watching.

Finally, this article aptly summarizes the strong state of the U.S. economy.  Even though it's not producing a huge number of new jobs, the truth is that we don't need to, thanks to the exit of millions of illegal immigrants.  Economic growth is very solid and may even accelerate in the fourth quarter.  Meanwhile, the trade deficit has plummeted.  There's so much to celebrate!

  1. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Apparently "local officials" in Minnesota are outraged that they are not included informal investigation of the shooting. It is entirely reasonable to assume that their only motive would be to "hang" that officer. TDS defines intentions in anything having to do with President Trump.

Sorry, far leftists, you imposed wokeism on us so you'll just have to stew while we impose the presumption of comprehensive TDS bigotry on your actions!

  3. "Rushing to judgement" is the only kind of judgement that the Left is capable of, where violent confrontations between law enforcement and the public are concerned. What the Left ought to be asking itself is: do we want the violence in America's cities to get worse, or do we want it to abate? They ought to think carefully about their answer to that question too, because if they test Trump he might drop the hammer on them!

  4. Dr. Waddy from Jack: The hate besotted far left lynch mob has mobilized once again and is hastening to its murderous task, cynically egged on by their America hating commissars. They are light years beyond reason; violent reaction is their mindless and sole determination. They are fully confident in their indisputable merit in this; they cannot be convinced otherwise, they must be objectively defeated, disarmed and utterly discredited.

They must be met with superior resolve by the forces of democratically Constituted order and its indispensable framework, the rule of law. They MUST not be suffered to hound this officer to ruin. For America to fail to ensure him the full range of his rights and full consideration of the harrowing demands of his job would be pusillanimous beyond measure and forever deeply shameful.

They cannot be suffered to play havoc with impunity; they must be met with all the force necessary to stop them in their tracks and assure them that America WILL NOT countenance their anarchic savagery and their summary onslaughts on any they hold to have done them wrong! The time has arrived for complete and decisive confrontation of these lawless far left maddened barbarians. Should that necessitate the arrests of those who lead them , no matter their station they must be taken lawfully in hand.

  6. Dr. Waddy from Jack: The Iranian people were able to overthrow their regime in 1979 and they may be well on the way to doing it again. We can be proud of our country and this Administration for the discrediting pressure we have put on these quasi medieval tyrants. "It just takes a new President". Such a potentially glorious development would go a long way toward affirming his greatness.

Crown Prince Pahlavi says he would be a "transitional" figure. That's a constructive attitude I think. Perhaps it would be best for him to abjure the ostentation of the Peacock Throne and sustain the monarchy only as long as it takes to ease Iran into the 21st century. I think most modern constitutional monarchies have evolved through sometimes painful progress (eg. the U. K. and Japan).

I think Iran may bloom under democracy; its people appear to want it very badly. One of the most joyous developments which could manifest is the end of Iran as a fanatic engine of murderous antisemitism; what a relief that would be for a beleagured Israel. How an Israel relieved of garrison state necessity would soar! Those two countries , together with the oil rich nations, could in cooperation generate unprecedented well being for the people of this tortured region. What a blessing for them and for the world that would be. Perhaps a return to civilization for Iran might spell the incalculably redeeming disempowerment of the militant wing of Islam; Iran has been their fanatic fountainhead and the world would be very well rid of their hellish hate for the noble culture of Judaism and all who honor it.

  7. Dr. Waddy from Jack: The very favorable state of an economy which has enjoyed the cooperation of a gutsy President with a visceral understanding of how it works and who has known when to intervene and when to let this engine of unprecedented well being thrive on its own dynamism , sets up a perhaps decisive confrontation. That would be between the truth and the amoral organs of misinformation which serve the America hating far left by trying to convince America of the untruth.

It stings to the quick those who would forcefully "fundamentally transform" our economy on principles catastrophically and decisively discredited by history, that our economy, based on principles they reflexively despise , is so easily able to prosper when freed of their absurd dreams and their totalitarian willingness to use force to destroy it.

Our ever more lonely MSM sees in resistance to this unbearable development an existential threat to their disingenuous influence and lets hope they are right. Let this be the rock upon which they founder. We know they will persist as have so many totalitarian institutions in the last 110 years ; let this, their possibly imminent subsequent repulse from the trust of the American public as they do that which is all they know how to do, to lie, be their assured reduction to the ridiculous level of , say, professional wrestling .

If in our support for this administration we can help to accomplish this, by staying true, by realizing that we have an incredibly fortunate opportunity to save our America from the domestic Marxist curse , by denouncing the MSM into marginality, by rejecting their unprofessional and malign portrayal of our economy, we will have gone leagues toward our country's redemption from the insane far left fanaticism which has grievously plagued us since the '60s.

  8. Dr. Waddy from Jack: The far left controlled worker ants who make up the lawless ,reflexively and comprehensively America hating rank and file which currently swarms in Minneapolis need logistical support.
Their neatly crafted signs, which appear with miraculous dispatch wherever needed; the lasers with which they attempt to blind law enforcement ; the gas which brings their Subarus apace; their very creature comforts , which they cannot deny despite their perfection; their astonishing promptness in hastening to all points of confrontation upon the very instance of "need":these all require funding in this unbearably imperfect world.

Fox today reported , I think, the Secretary of the Treasury affirming that much effort is now afoot tracing the financial sources for the anarchy which typifies the far left's ehh, " expeditious" approach to national politics. That is a dutiful and very welcome tactic, I think. Let these detached limousine far leftists be put to personal responsibility and consequent great personal hazard for their wrong headed, unlawful and ungrateful virtue signaling!

  10. I quite agree, Jack: we can't give in to the Democrats' tirade against ICE. I do wonder, however, whether it was a mistake to freeze Minnesota authorities out of the investigation into the incident. Maybe it wasn't. Sadly, they would have been under ENORMOUS pressure to railroad the poor agent.

Jack, we can only speculate, but the overthrow of the Mullahs could bring many wonderful blessings and opportunities to the peoples of Iran and the whole region. As you suggest, Islamist terrorist groups would be dealt a severe blow. I believe you're right that the Iranian people could achieve wonderful prosperity, if they were allowed to do so. Trump has a lot of cards to play here, and I hope he plays them soon. We don't want to miss our chance.

As for the MSM, it isn't going to disappear overnight, but I'd say it's fate is more or less assured, at this point. Of course, that doesn't guarantee that what will replace it will be any better. The lefties may simply find new and better ways to deceive.

You are absolutely right that the funding mechanisms that facilitate these lawless protests ought to be an area of focus for the Department of Justice. Money makes the world go 'round, and a prosecution or two could thus have a serious effect on the ability of the Left to utilize street violence as a political tool. The main goal should be to deter the DONORS from continuing to throw fistfuls of cash at the agitators. Right now they feel immune from consequences, and that's totally unacceptable.

  11. Dr. Waddy from Jack: You have hit it on the head once again. "Right now they feel immune from consequences. . . ". There are two groups I know from personal experience to manifest that outlook: criminals and far leftists. It follows that they both typically recoil in self righteous outrage when they are held to time honored standards such as those enshrined in Western civilization (eg. the rule of law). Their's is the rule of "feelings" , arbitrarily and incidentally inspired .

That is especially true of prosperous virtue signalers. Their wealth has shielded them from the deserved consequences of their patronizing support for those who would, should they acquire the dread power and reach, after cynically using them, place them in tumbrels taking them to the tender and expansive embrace of Madame Defarge. Enough of their dreamy baloney; hit'em where it hurts and teach 'em a lesson in grim realism.

  12. Hear hear! "Hit 'em where it hurts" could mean the penitentiary, or it could just as easily mean the wallet... Either would do fine!
