Friends, Happy Anniversary! That's the one year anniversary of DJT taking office, of course. What an exciting year it's been! Somehow, improbably, most liberals haven't yet fled to exile in Canada or Denmark. In fact, some of them think they've wrestled back the political initiative from Trump and the MAGA movement. We'll see about that in November. What we know for sure is that the policy wins that Trump has racked up have been innumerable and way more impressive than during his first term. The courts and Congress have been more acquiescent, and that's part of it, but Trump himself has also been way more disciplined, focused, and simply competent. Hallelujah, I say! Long may it last!

In other news, the DOJ has subpoenaed a variety of Minnesota public officials, all of them dastardly Dems, for their role in allegedly obstructing ICE's enforcement operations there. This will not be an easy case to make, and who knows if it will lead to prosecutions, but even shaking the tree and forcing these latter-day Bolsheviks to pony up their private communications could prove...sobering, especially for them!

Finally, this article reflects on what a poor job colleges are doing preparing graduates for the reality of the new, AI-infused workplace. The value of book learning has been declining, in the eyes of students and potential employers, for a long time, but AI is accelerating the trend. Perceptive students are even asking themselves what use they can be to their prospective corporate masters, in an age when generative AI can do pretty much everything that they can do, sometimes better, and almost always a lot cheaper. Frankly, I'm not just asking "what is college for?", I'm beginning to ask "what are humans for?" What I mean is that, if we eliminate religious commitments, family duties, and work obligations from the roster of human preoccupations, as many people already have or are about to, then what's left??? Hmm.

Dr. Waddy from Jack: I know its trite but I have to say after 78 years that life is astonishing: eg. the fall of world communism excepting the U.S. of all places and some few civilizational outliers; the massive ingratitude of a youthful U.S. generation blessed by theretofore unimaginable prosperity; our entry into space even beyond the solar system; sighting of myriad extra-solar planets; the computer (the most important invention since the printing press) .Certainly the political advent of a well known man nobody would ever have predicted for greatness is fortuitous in the extreme.
ReplyDeleteHe denied antipathetic, vindictive , prospective forceful "fundamental transformer" of a "guilty and erring" U.S. , Hillary, her presumed ascension to the Presidency. He returned Scotus to lawfulness after decades of shameful far leftist exploitation. He closed our grossly violated border with breathtaking dispatch and is unapologetically undoing its misuse under the previous President. He has stood courageously and very effectively against the far left imposition of its incipiently totalitarian "woke" dictate. His obvious high competence has paved the way for others outside of lifetime political careers to seek the Presidency. He has proven business leadership as a viable preparation for the Presidency.
In 2016 we faced the actual and harrowing prospect of the "American" far left securing its eventual total takeover and subjugation of America to Marxist serfdom. DJT, by giving up his assuredly luxurious retirement to unrelenting castigation, very credible legal and physical threat ,and political tumult, met that existential threat and for the time being at the very least, has dealt it enervating repulse. We are living through the historically remarkable and timely tenure of a great President, I think.
Dr. Waddy from Jack: Glad you noted the obvious high motivation and very much more sophisticated mien with which DJT entered his second term. It was after a hellish 4 year interim in which he faced the unlimited resolution of a once loyal but now immeasurably far leftist subjugated Dem party frantically bent upon ruining him. They threw everything they had at him, even invasion of his most private domicile. But like the John L. Lewis who he closely resembles in his happy warrior demeanor he embodied this Lewis quote "they smote me hip and thigh and right merrily did I return their blows!" And DJT DID! And he continues to do so, unapologetically and with unrelenting insolence, against the oooo so imperiously self righteous , viciously vindictive "American" far left, which gives clear prediction thereby of how it would deal with all of us if it ruled. He conquered harrowing challenges to his reputation, his wealth and his very freedom with a fortitude and generosity (toward America that is, not its reflexively dissembling and incipiently totalitarian far left) we might never have expected from his earlier self. This was monumental good fortune for America. What perhaps irredeemable degradation we would have endured now after years of Hillary!
ReplyDeleteDr. Waddy from Jack: Alot of Americans understandably doubt that the far left can ever conquer our country. Let them be disabused of this!
ReplyDeleteWe already have the examples of NY and Kalifornia, one party Dem dictatorships in which opposing views usually embodying the convictions of the majority of Americans are contemptuously disdained.
But now we have a newly confirmed addition to this subjugated rank - Virginia itself . Burdened by a completely dominated far left/Dem (the two are inseparable now ) legislature and a new Governor who disingenuously campaigned as a "moderate", very Virginia embarks on an ordeal of radical imposition which is anathema to that common sense part of the state unpolluted by snobby liberal invaders .
Why, new Governor Spangenberger celebrates her inauguration with ringing invitation to illegal immigrants to seek sanctuary in her state. Since she has executive command of Virginia law enforcement she has arrogantly ordered it into unlawful insubordination to American Federal Immigration Law. And the bustling Va. legislature already sports such monumentally just bills as a ban on gasoline powered lawn blowers. Oh Jubilee! Presumably this is a sop to the wilting "human generated global warming crowd" for which I would laugh to hear it explain the arctic winter we are having now. As such it is historically proven far left dreamy doctrinally commanded counterintuitive presumption. And there is more in the works, much more. Believe a New Yorker , beleagured common sense Virginians; we dread every meeting of our NYC dominated Soviet (like your DC and Maryland refugee dominated legislature is now) because we know we will be commanded to obey unrelenting counterintuitive commands over which we have no power to alleviate. For example consider our gun laws which mandate a background check for the purchase of 18th century firearms - anything which serves their purpose of eliminating private gun ownership in this still 2nd Amendment protected state. That is just a minor example.
Virginians are lucky to have term limits on their Governorship but that will exacerbate the frantic determination of the far left to impose a political culture disdainful of Virginia's traditions. Pay Virginia's ordeal close attention America; it will demonstrate once again what happens when far leftists flim flam Americans into empowering them. Its like inviting the fox into the rabbit den.
Dr. Waddy from Jack: Our redoubtable President appears to have achieved two more substantial negotiated outcomes in Davos. We are running short of superlatives to describe his skill at this.
ReplyDeleteCharacteristically prowling the fringes was California's preening fop of a Governor, who no doubt would rather the conference had been held in Versailles' Hall of Mirrors. Like the infamous 18th century fop, he is imperiously dismissive and vicious (he lacks only an affected lisp to complete the reenactment). He castigated the very idea of our President being a good negotiator by comparing his manner to that of a "T-Rex". Being head of a one party dictatorship he probably has little practical experience of give and take. Best that he repair to his realm; there are myriad freed illegal immigrant criminals waiting to shake his limp wristed hand.
