Friends, lefties and establishment types are outraged -- outraged! -- that the thuggish president of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, has been captured by U.S. military forces and brought to this country for trial. They are also hyperventilating about what this might mean for the prospects of U.S. intervention in -- nay, conquest of -- Greenland. They even claim that a U.S. takeover of the Danish colony could be "the end of NATO"! Say it ain't so, MSM. My response is...if we can cancel America's blank check to Europe to provide its security indefinitely by seizing Greenland, then that's all the more reason to do it... My suspicion, however, is that Trump is much more likely to use the possibility of an invasion as leverage to encourage Denmark to sell the island. Of course, since the Danes are as interminably anti-Trump as any New York City socialist, they will probably give him the finger regardless and dare him to attack. Might he? Only time will tell.

Dr. Waddy from Jack: I very much like and support Pres. Trump but I think the prospect of our using force to acquire Greenland is unseemly for a great country like ours. Other than repelling any clear advance upon Greenland by a strategic enemy of ours in an attempt to compromise our northern flank ,it should be reconsidered.
ReplyDeleteI see little to compare in the Greenland and Venezuela situations. The Danes and the Greenlanders themselves are doing us no harm. Let's not be threatening such innocuous lands. I'm very glad we have such a superb wheeler dealer at the helm and talk of invading Greenland may be just a ploy but I think we need not use it. Our superlative military is fully capable of preventing any investment of Greenland by a strategic enemy of ours. We don't need to own it; of course were it to be freely offered it would be an asset probably beyond just national defense. There is no Maduro oppressing the Greenlanders nor does Greenland have any natural resource which compares with oil in its transcendent importance.
As for Nato: I think its time to leave them on their own. We saved them from the Red Army and that's enough. NATO can overpower the Eurasian hordes should they ever again threaten ; that is, if they have the will.
And let no criticism of this policy redound to the credit of the America hating far left. The entirety of their opposition to our President is reflexive, vicious and thoroughly bigoted. Their Stalinist idols regularly indulged in the savaging of small countries.
Dr. Waddy from Jack: What the hell is going on in our country; "the coup of a thousand cuts"? Seattle and NYC now have "Democratic "socialist (in non "euphemistic" terms, Marxists!) Executives. Chicago and Illinois's disdainful dictators thumb their noses at our President's efforts to protect the civil rights of criminally victimized Americans under their perversely willed state government. CA. Governor Hirsute casually sneers at our country's fundamental values and affirms his intent to "fundamentally transform" us to redeemed Marxist paradise. Are our cities and some benighted states to become an expansive and counterintuitive framework for incipient , historically condemned Marxist tommyrot ?Right here in America , the historical nemesis of that proven inhuman doctrine?!!
ReplyDeleteAnd now the oh so "sensitive" Mayor of Minneapolis is quoted as expectorating "get the f--k out, ICE" (oh my, break out the Maalox) in response to ICE Officers insolently refusing to give up their lives to murderous far left organized thugs. There can be but one answer to that from our President and that is a lawful assault, using all necessary Federal force, on these presumptuous law breakers at all levels. It is entirely just that our democratically (in the true meaning of that violated word) established laws be enforced! If it is appropriate to arrest Mayors or Governors, then do it Mr. President, do it! I think the America which elected you looks to you now for justified action against these antiAmerican anarchists.
I think when the man who issued the dread command "lets go!" for the Normandy invasion sent elite U.S. Army regulars to Arkansas to protect the rights of innocent school children he did it with no less resolve in 1957 than he had displayed in 1944. He would have used that force had it become necessary. Let our President now be similarly set on enforcing our laws at any price the organized "American" far left recklessly makes necessary. A decisive reckoning with America's domestic enemy , the far left, is at hand and I'm confident this is just the President to confidently work redemption of our democracy from these vicious dreamers .
Dr. Waddy from Jack: What the far left commissars and their paid factoti "in the streets" conveniently ignore is that the principles which motivate them to this anarchy were tried and found wanting in the arena of American democracy. Congress, our elected representatives , considered a wide range of views in the establishment of our Immigration Laws. Sorry , you oh so self righteous incipient totalitarians,America in doing so considered your concerns and subjected them to debate, compromise and decision. This discredits your "demands" for open borders and tolerance of illegal immigrants and the rule of law mandates that that democratic decision be enforced by the Executive branch, your snitful violent tantrums notwithstanding .Period!
ReplyDeleteDr. Waddy from Jack: Gun owners in NY state live under a regimen of "gun control laws" clearly meant to discourage Constitutionally protected lawful gun ownership and use. But we comply with them and at the same time use democracy to try to change them. I was at a gun show in NY recently at which thousands attended. There were long and vexatious lines of citizens undergoing NY's prolix processes for registration of acquired handguns, There was no violence, there was no resistance to or contempt for law enforcement. Gun rights organizations seeking to restore common sense and Constitutional compliance to NY's draconian gun laws made their case on the floor in a democratic manner honoring the rule of law. We need not imagine how different it would be if this were one of the antiAmerican far left's pet peeves. We know how it would be.
