Friends, things were looking pretty bleak for the globalist jet setters at the Davos Economic Forum just hours ago, but President Trump announced today that he won't use force to acquire Greenland, and he further announced that a framework is close for easing U.S. security concerns re: Greenland, so his proposed tariffs against European countries that sent troops to Greenland to deter U.S. aggression are to be shelved. Well! It seems to me that taking force AND tariffs off the table basically obliterates any leverage the U.S. might have to demand that the Danes hand over Greenland, so the question would be: what do we get in return for this uncharacteristic niceness? Not territorial sovereignty over the whole of Greenland, surely, but maybe privileged military and economic access to the island? Time will tell... I'm not sure whether this represents brilliant diplomacy on Trump's part, or "chickening out", for which he's famous in some circles, but time will tell...

In other news, the Clintons have been found in contempt of Congress, which means that the DOJ has at least the option of pursuing criminal charges against them. Boy, oh boy! Presumably, negotiations will continue, at least for a time, but we may soon find out just how serious Trump and Bondi are about "vengeance"!

Dr. Waddy from Jack: It strikes me that the Clintons have always been in contempt of Congress or any other person, institution or law which stands in their way. What delightful irony is in the fact that these two, who cynically and enthusiastically misdirected our legal system to the attempted partisan ruin of their insolent political antithesis, now find themselves at his legal discretion. Oh, they've been similarly hazarded before but they skated; this time they may not and our justice system would be much enhanced thereby .
ReplyDeleteDr. Waddy from Jack: Our hombre President carries a "big stick" and is perhaps more direct than TR was in declaring a willingness to use it if necessary. But he may well have consequently set a constructive tone for his meeting with the European leaders who seem to need reminding from time to time of the historical debt they owe us.
ReplyDeleteEspecially after adding Finland and Sweden I think Nato to be Russia's equal and the Royal Navy may be militarily capable of leading a successful defense against Chinese incursion in the North Atlantic, provided that its leadership is resolved to do so. (Britain and Iceland are unsinkable aircraft carriers ). But U.S. support would be handy , very handy .
Too, we must never leave our national defense to depend on the aid of any other country, especially on erratic Europe. If Greenland is to be a vital part of our missile defense and our continuing ability to defeat the bad actors we must secure our access to it ourselves.
I think it quite possible that President Trump set a solid structure at Davos for mutually beneficial updating negotiation to provide us necessary freedom of movement, establishment and action, on the foundation of the 1951 Greenland Defense agreement. He unapologetically gave Western Europe reminder of what side its bread is buttered on.
His reflexive far left detractors (not fair minded and good willed critics)are as "insects, microbes" in the shadow of this confidently formidable American!
Dr. Waddy from Jack: A heard a commentator on Fox today opine that t our President's conduct before and at Davos was "classic Trump 'art of the deal' ". It starts with an aggressive and probably unreachable position and then goads the opposition to further anxiety. Then, in the sit-down , he turns the heat down and bets on the relief that garners. I luv it! This President is a gem. And being that he uses his wise ass NYC street savvy for the benefit of his country rather than exclusively for his own self celebration ( as boomer blighters like Slick Willy with his cornpone carnival huckster venality and very compelling "self interest "did ) and , somehow not coincidentally, to help much of the world, then many happy returns for him and us! And that he betters his European counterparts ( at least presently, pending the election of common sense friend Farage in the U.K.) is satisfying. They have always(except for Churchill) thought us below them but when the barbarians stood outside their gates they came mewing for aid. A player like our President understands this still dangerous, disingenuous and unforgiving world.
ReplyDeleteDr. Waddy from Jack: It was noted on Fox that China already has substantial commercial and exploratory presence in Greenland. Perhaps President Trump expressed in some manner at Davos our displeasure at Danish complicity in this incursion into our hemisphere ? Would Denmark consequently restrict Chinese access to Greenland? What might it take in the form of perceived Chinese overreach in Greenland to move President Trump to action and what form might it take? Perhaps a selective naval quarantine of Greenland? Might he provoke a reckoning which could end in our backing away from China's littoral in return for Chinese restraint in our hemisphere?
ReplyDeleteDr. Waddy from Jack: Well, the radicals have gotten just what they hoped for in their Minneapolis St. Petersburg 1905 reprise: another death involving ICE. And the young latter day Lenin Mayor of that beleagured city is building his bonafides for the revolutionary regime to come. Two deaths both of which have not yet been thoroughly investigated so that responsibility can be creditably determined, but for the pinched far left mind they are already more than enough to warrant treasonous mayhem.
ReplyDeleteBut gee, there are far more than two incarcerated illegal immigrants in Minnesota whose legally established guilt encompasses the full spectrum of vicious offense, why, even murder. But their "rights" are scrupulously protected against their seizure by Federal Immigration enforcement by the likes of Comrade Mayor Frey and shotgun fumbling Gov. Walz . Two, against who the deuce knows how many but the latter are the darlings of the left, despite their victimization of the law abiding public. Somebody has their values all misplaced!
But our President has the power to protect the lawful of Minneapolis and the many other possible nodes of violent radical anarchists (NYC soon?) Unlike Russia in 1917, their cause is one of a faction only, not the vast majority of Americans who willingly lead positive , constructive lives in this creditable and very liveable country.
Its time for President Trump to apply that power, no matter what riotous hob in which these dreamy uber idealists thrash.
Mr. President: please use that Insurrection Act and direct whatever force these anarchic pukes deserve upon them. Please concentrate decisive law redeeming force also against their financiers and their instigators in the MSM. Their object is to misuse the issue of your courageous lawful rededication to the rule of Immigration law as a means of lawless and violent dissolution in their relentless quest for the destruction of America and its values. Defend us as you would against a foreign enemy similarly motivated; the loyal majority backs you!
Dr. Waddy from Jack: I am confident our President will be true to his oath to "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution. . . " by defending our democratically established Immigration Laws. The process of their inclusion in our laws followed Constitutionally outlined processes and Constitutionally protected debate in which the issues for which these radicals demand full extralegal surrender, were given extensive, free and fair consideration. The lawful results did not satisfy their perfectionist demands and so they seek arbitrarily adopted means outside of our Constitution , to receive that which they consider undeniable justice. Let them be denied this selfish presumption!
ReplyDeleteTwo comments above, I should have said " . . . Two against who the deuce knows how many but the FORMER are the darlings of the left . . . " Jack
ReplyDeleteDr. Waddy from Jack: Well the carnival continues apace as the desperate far left seeks something, anything, to destroy a President whose patriotism and common sense aversion to their tiresome reflexive disdain for our country, is beyond their comprehension and belief.
ReplyDeleteNow its the "proven murderous " ICE thugs who are the latest object of their classic Marxist attempts at dissemblance of our country. Increasingly absurd Minnesota Gov. Walz pontificates "why ICE is not law enforcement". And Comrade Mayor Frey once again demands that ICE simply leave, at his demand no less! He's a Mayor! I'm sure Commissar Mamdani is watching closely.
OK! So Walz mobilizes his National Guard; to do exactly WHAT?! For what does he intend this by definition coercive force? To confront the increased Federal strength our President is bound to send to enforce the rule of law which is long since confirmed optional to the fevered minds of the far left? What, to enforce the rule of law? How very pusillanimous of him in the eyes of the far left he succors. His "stand "may well "stand" with the "stands" made by some southern Governors in the late 50s and early 60s. Their disgrace was inevitable.
Good gravy: what has happened to a rugged state like MInnesota that they empower such as these far left shills?
Dr. Waddy from Jack: The many times proven historical record of ALL far leftists in the totalitarian rule they always seek is one of unlimited use of physical force and the dread threat of it against ANYONE who dissents from their views. We can reasonably and we MUST with resolve assume this intent of our "American" far left. They have long since confirmed their devotion to "any means necessary" and they DO mean ANY!
ReplyDeleteDr. Waddy from Jack: maybe I was wrong in comparing these planned and managed riots in Minneapolis to St. Petersburg in 1905. These people may think they've got Russia circa 1917 at hand; they may be going for the whole thing now. They've got a now plainly radical former President explicitly supporting them and urging a national rising.
ReplyDeleteDr. Waddy from Jack: The far left is loath to give up the advance it made 2021-2025 with its encouragement and enablement of mass illegal immigration in order to fatally corrupt our polity. It is resolved that Minneapolis is the mountain on which they will fight and stand in this, to them , VITAL issue. It has already suffered a staggering blow from President Trump's demonstrated determination to completely redeem America from this anarchic and seditious offense ; I think its back is against the wall. If it relents in this battle , it will have sustained a defeat from which it may not be able to recover. That defeat must be assured!
ReplyDeleteFor President Trump , this is a must win situation. He has publicly reaffirmed his promise that he will not tolerate unlawful resistance to the enforcement of Immigration Law . Good! But he must stand by it on this battleground and give no ground, he MUST! If he gives in or allows these Marxist dissemblers any gain, he guarantees that the far left will persist in its presumptuous mayhem in any number of locations in which Federal forces carry out lawful action again illegals.
Today his Press Secretary publicly expressed : his insistance that states and cities stop ordering their dutiful police and corrections officials to prevent Federal law enforcement from seizing illegals in jail and prisons; that he has proposed legislation to specifically ban the declaration of "sanctuary" states and cities ("sanctuary "for who, BTW? Certainly not for law abiding Americans!) which is already definable as a crime against our Immigration Law; and he has reaffirmed his conviction that the rights of Americans to the enforcement of their democratically established law and defense against the predations of those who defy it, is his absolute priority! Accordingly and deservedly, he must receive the unrelenting support of all loyal Americans in this.
Never in all its now 60 year campaign to destroy our country has the "American" far left ever been more obvious in that intent. Former President Obama has publicly urged the repitition throughout our country of what he ludicrously terms "peaceful " demonstration against the rule of Immigration Law. He has always been frank about his desire for "fundamental transformation" of America into his now clear Marxist model. Gee, does he want another, this time unlimited sojourne in the White House? He was all afire with transformational zeal when he was inaugurated but oh, those material perks of office; they chilled him out. Now he has no such reservations.
He is symbolic of the emergence of the "American" far left to full and open "revolutionary" strategy , affirmed by its amoral and gratuitously violent strategy now on convincing display in Minneapolis. The "American" far left's leaders and coordinators are grimly determined Marxists ; the worker ants they employ on the streets are subjugated and ignorant. Many of them are simply thugs along for a stimulating ride. Together they seek to foment the societal "contradictions" and resulting conflict their doctrine commands them necessary to bring about their perverted and historically proven depraved , version of "justice".
Yeah, maybe we will get SOMETHING out of Trump's Greenland shakedown, but I take him at his word that anything short of full and complete U.S. ownership is unacceptable, in the long term. Thus, by his own metric, his Greenland policy has failed.
ReplyDeleteJack, possibly DJT should have taken your advice days or weeks ago by activating the Insurrection Act and flooding Minnesota with federal agents and troops. He didn't, though, and instead he now looks like he's the one who blinked and pulled back. Now, maybe both sides will give a little to turn down the temperature? Maybe Trump's "deescalation" will look like statesmanship? Possibly, but I think all the Dems and especially the agitators care about is getting their way and scoring points, and, sad to say, they may come out of this battle royal with a sense of vindication and even victory.
Why does the Left feel so passionately that illegal immigrants are beyond reproach and MUST be permitted to stay, no matter how many crimes they have committed? It puzzles me! It truly does. It isn't because of their insistence that we need workers, because, even if we expelled every single illegal, we could always obtain more labor via a guest worker program. I believe the Left's attachment to illegals is therefore primarily an offshoot of its identity politics and its belief that EVERYTHING, in the end, comes down to race.
Dr. Waddy from Jack: I agree with your view on the far left's touching regard for criminal illegals. Having chafed on the job in Corrections by being supervised by some far leftists , I know they maintain that most criminals are oppressed unfortunates who are understandably negatively reactive to their hard lot in life . To criminals and the far leftists who emulate them, the travails of the victims of crime however, are dismissed out of hand. Some of them actually believe that the law abiding and law enforcement are the oppressors. Plus, support and excuse for criminals is undeniably offensive to the "benighted" common sense majority and adds to the societal "contradictions" which these marxists "know" to be vital in bringing about the cynical disorder, dysfunction and dissolution they believe paves the way for their takeover. Criminals of course eat that up and they commit further crime without compunction. Some of them are politically active and as such are considered a valued "revolutionary class" by the doctrinally captured far left. They would of course be among the first to be betrayed and violently suppressed by a triumphant "American" "People's Democratic Republic". Marxists reserve to themselves the instruments and intentions of the inhumanity they manifest. They don't want street thugs getting in their way.
