Welcome to the official blog for Dr. Nicholas L. Waddy, political commentator, historian, patriot, novelist, and wise man extraordinaire! Here you will find Dr. Waddy's latest musings on the political scene, as well as links to published articles, tv/radio appearances, and more...
Friends, I wish you and yours, and especially mothers of all genders, a Happy Mother's Day!!! At least in Western New York it's a beautiful sunny day, befitting the holiday. Enjoy!
Dr. Waddy from Jack: Concerning the continuing speculation as to how the new Pope will be: I commend the article " Leo XIV, Reformer and Saver of Souls , posted at RealClearPolitics for May 12. I think it objectively examines both the reasons for hope and for misgivings as to his stance on the world wide left.
Ray from Jack: That's not good news; open borders mean anarchy, especially when they admit people who cannot or will not live in harmony with the host culture. Its impossibly idealistic: perhaps he means it to have a liberalizing effect only on the world's immigration policies. With respect, I wonder what Vatican City's immigration policy is.
I do have more than a few bones to pick with the Catholic Church. However, I do respect some individual people in that church. My choice for Pope was Cardinal Robert Sarah. His ideas certainly line up with my thoughts in many categories. Check him out when you get time. It's worth it.
Dr. Waddy from Jack: Fox today reported that "a judge" has in some manner approved of the Administration's use of the Enemy Aliens Act for expeditious expulsion of foreign criminals. Didn't say the level of the Judge but it appears to be another step in the direction of common sense and the neutralization of the increasingly desperate far left.
Ray from Jack: Thanx for the tip; I read about Cardinal Sarah and I can certainly see why he would fit the bill for persons of our persuasion (even though we are in a sense onlookers, not being Catholics). His are the views I would hope the Church, with its immense reach and gravity, would champion. And being from Africa, where the Church is growing fast, his appears to be a very significant voice from which the world would benefit if Pope Leo pays him serious mind and heeds his counsel.
I doubt Pope Leo will heed anyone's counsel. I noticed his smile when he went before the crowd after his election, and it stank of patronization. In any event, I tend to believe that the election was "rigged" but of course can't prove it. Most of the Cardinals were Francis supporters anyway.
Ray, you are asking the same questions I asked on today's Newsmakers show: what promises did Leo XIV make to secure his Papacy, and to whom did he make them, and to what extent will be keep them???
RAY TO DR. WADDY

DeleteMy understanding is that this Pope is an advocate of open borders.
