Pinko, Fund Thyself!

Friends, President Trump has delivered (we think) on a major goal of most conservatives: defunding the biased news coverage and woke programming of PBS and NPR.  For years, affluent leftists have lapped up what PBS and NPR have to offer...and for years taxpayers have abetted this scam.  PBS and NPR will be just fine.  They have deep-pocketed corporate and individual sponsors.  What's more, there's the usual danger that establishment judges will step up to defend these institutions' "constitutional right" to unlimited and eternal federal subsidies.  We'll see how that plays out, but this executive action is long overdue, so kudos to DJT!

In other news, Nigel Farage's nationalist, populist Reform Party has scored some major wins in English local elections and one key parliamentary by-election.  This proves that the British Trumpists are the real deal!

Finally, lefties are chagrined, because the latest jobs report did not bolster their claims that the Great Depression is back.  On the contrary, many elements of the U.S. economy continue to show signs of resilience and strength.  We may yet whether the storm of tariffs and TDS...

  1. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Wow, lots of good news today : the restoration of common sense to our national life (which really only did simply "take a new President") continues apace with breathtaking and unprecedented dispatch.

PBS and NPR! Good riddance to them from the public trough! Been hoping for this for a long time because its one of most egregious presumptions forced on taxpayers by imperious and "elite" leftists. Its not so much the amount they wasted, (though we must celebrate the Trump administration's infusion of the principle"it all adds up" to our Federal spending regime); it was the haughty assumption that they were "enlightened" and that doubt of the necessity for public support was gauche and therefore easily dismissable.

I'll bet they won't be able to compete; what the hell do they have to offer which cannot be found better done on heretically commercial channels? Wishy washy fey and frivolous fare are for the most part their idea of worthwhile entertainment. They seem to think a British accent makes a program by definition "fine all the while" but Britbox has them buggered well and truly. And of course their far left biases, also considered by them to be vital, have always been obvious. Break out the cigars tonight!! (Oh and I think the National Endowment for the Arts should take notice from this development : start packing for deserved governmental oblivion!)

  2. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Hooray for Farage! He's going to be the U.K.'s Trumpian redeemer from its incipiently totalitarian far left envelopment . Rule Brittania (the ever real Britain)!

  3. Dr. Waddy from Jack: And to complete today's triumphant trifecta the House has voted to rescind the Fed's apparently necessary approval for Kalifornia's totalitarian decree banning the sale of gasoline powered vehicles by distant 2035. Now this ain't no executive order for which a judge can be found somewhere to throw up a cynical roadblock to this heretical denial of Kalifornia's breathless environmental righteousness.

This is guaranteed to cause paroxysms in AOC land! Good, because the more reckless she becomes the further she careens from any possibility of being President. She and Al Gore, who comically lost (even his home state) after probably taking the popular vote in 2000, ought to warm up their peat burning jet for a royal progress through an America as insolent as to doubt the merits of the Promethean Green New Deal. Typical far leftist brow beating and shaming would be the order of the day.

As for equally dreamy and Marxist dictatorial NY and its "environmental" collectivization neo "five year plans" ,stand by; its next I'd bet. Common sense is on the march and the red flags and the green flags are in disordered retreat.

  4. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Appears to me that the far left has rejoiced to see the Dow suffer because its such a widely perceived measure of our economic health. Of course "its the economy , stupid" is still gospel for the radicals even though the last election showed that ideas and obvious intentions matter very much too. But they

are happy to see economic turmoil in this their long night of the soul because they believe it discredits their tormentor, DJT.

So, how are they reacting to this very possibly strong recovery in stocks? I'll have to endure some time with MSNBC tonight to see how they are taking this possible rebuff. Maybe they will just pretend it isn't happening. Or they will find some way to put a negative spin on it.

Oh what would they do if they lose this perceived advantage? They've been hoping for another 2008 . . . may not happen. Somewhere along the way, perhaps not far down the road, they are going to receive one too many disappointments and they are going to succumb to the frantic emotions which are with them so very close to the surface (eg. Sen. Booker, he always looks like he is close to critical mass). Trump may be winning yet again and its so "icky!"

I think the appalling truth may already have been realized by some of the prospective "fundamental transformers" : the cause is lost. They had their chance in 2016 and they blew it by nominating a transparent and eminently unlikeable candidate because she was a woman. In 2020 they got a four year reprieve while their obsequious marionette enabled a massive foreign invasion which has done much dysfunction but then they nominated a nonentity because, again, she is a woman. Their willingness to nominate Minnie Mouse or Olive Oyl , just as long as its a woman, is pitifully obvious. Alas, they had a very solid prospect in Tulsi Gabbard but they managed to drive her out of the party.

If they were to give up in despair, what would it be like? Maybe they can be a cult and embrace their contempt for America in powerless oases of marxist fantasy and while away the long, long days with dreams of what COULD have been, while America progresses in the creditable version of that term.

  5. Jack, I sure hope the defunding of NPR and PBS sticks! As always, we will have to battle through several layers of judicial obfuscation to make it so. It's a fight worth having.

The recovery in the market is VERY good news, from our perspective. First, it's one less albatross that Trump and Republicans will have to bear. Second, it's a sign that Dem irrationality cannot, in itself, bring the U.S. economy down. Frankly, I'm pleasantly surprised, because an awful lot of lefties are affluent AND crazy, and so they can do much damage when provoked (and provoking them into panic is pretty much what the media does 24/7).
