Friends, the Republican House of Representatives has (narrowly) approved a censure of Adam Schiff for his deceptive remarks over several years about Trump-Russia collusion. Well, that's nice, but what's notable about this story is how utterly unapologetic Schiff and the Democrats are. In fact, probably the only thing this censure will do is make Schiff a stronger candidate for the U.S. Senate (he's running to replace Diane Feinstein). So...does this move mean lying, seditious Trump-haters are finally being held accountable? Far from it!

One of the most consequential developments in the wake of COVID has been the vast expansion in school choice programs, and we're only beginning to realize the potential inherent in this sea change. My hope is that, by and by, the public school system will be phased out and American parents will choose for themselves how and where to educate their children.

Finally, check out this intentionally misleading article about immigration from the Associated Press. The headline here is that immigration is boosting the numbers of white people in the U.S. Well, that's only true if you count Hispanic whites as "white", which no leftist does. What's more, the main effect of immigration, as everyone knows, is to lower the percentage of the overall population that is white, both in absolute terms and in practical terms. The Associated Press, naturally, wants you not to notice all this, and it certainly would hold you in utter contempt if you cared. Well, that's not entirely true. If you're one of tens of millions of leftists who celebrate the "great replacement" of whites (even as they deny it's real), that would be just fine.

Dr.Waddy from Jack: The mechanisms for the seizing of children by the state already exist (eg. Child Protective Services). The social services professions are almost certainly dominated by leftists. It may well be that within these unelected bureacracies efforts to redefine existing standards for such terrible measures to include political incorrectness are well underway.And the amoeba of overweaning administrative law bodes myriad opportunities to turn heretofore counterintuitive, culturally peripheral phenomena into mandated experiences at appallingly young ages. Parental objection to these commands or even measured criticism may well soon trigger separation of children from "unenlightened" parents. We have already seen filthy corruption of public school curricula we scorned to believe just yesterday!

ReplyDeleteYes, Jack, the Left is infinitely ruthless, and, in its current guise, it is incapable of shame or self-doubt. That's not necessarily because it's peopled by monsters, of course. On the contrary, it's peopled by decent and intelligent human beings who just happen to be completely insulated from any and all serious suggestions and indications that their worldview and prejudices could be flawed. Leftists never have to confront the contradictions in their own thinking, because their thought-masters ensure that they never find out about them!

Jack, the Associated Press is all in for neo-Marxism, but the disturbing thing is that even many conservative news organizations largely depend on them. Newsmax is constantly serving up articles written by the A.P. WHY??? Laziness? Naivety? I don't get it.
Dr.Waddy from Jack: I agree that there are many people of good will on the left; certainly many in the 19th century intended to right the terrible wrongs which obtained then. But the French revolution gave an early warning of the tragic, perhaps inevitable rise of frantic radicals inspired by dreamy Rousseau, who turned the Enlightenment toward tyranny. Marx gave them leave to denounce ethics and to see violence as a method justified by politically approved ends informed by unlimited expectations for a future of attainable perfection.

Many good people, being of good will, cannot believe that the once American dem party has degenerated as it has. Monsters like Pol Pot were once in their llves recognizable members of the human race.
