Friends, it looks like Kevin McCarthy's compromise deal with President Biden over the debt ceiling is moving forward and will soon be the law of the land. I approve. While our chronic overspending will continue, at least we've imposed a smidgen of fiscal discipline and proven that the GOP is a force to be reckoned with in D.C., despite its tenuous hold on the House of Representatives. Hey, it could be worse!

Elon Musk, conservative icon, is in Red China, receiving hearty plaudits from the Chicoms. Kinda makes you wonder whose side he's on, doesn't it? That's easy: Musk is on Musk's side!
Finally, here's a stinging analysis of Fox News's sagging ratings. I must say, Fox deserves to take a hit for the contempt it recently showed to its viewers. Whether any other network is in a position to take Fox's place -- well, that's another story.
BONUS: here's an image of glorious Kylemore Castle in Galway County, Ireland. Very handsome!
RAY TO NICK
ReplyDeleteI really like your retirement home at Kylemore Castle in Ireland.
Dr.Waddy from Jack: How historically evocative such a place must be; the interior must be glorious!
ReplyDeleteDr.Waddy from Jack: I agree with your opinion on the debt deal. To infamy with the incipient totalitarian intent so obvious in misusing the IRS IRS power play
ReplyDeleteDr.Waddy from Jack: . . . misusing the IRS for a power play. As for the "work requirements": ok in principle but they will be gamed regularly by the deep state as usual (no show sinecures, leftist "community organizing", Cuomoism etc.). I'm glad the Freedom Caucus pitched a bitch, not for the truck they caused the Speaker but for their organized caution about any return to Rinoism; it needs to be heard and regarded. Nonethless, I think McCarthy is turning out well: we must build on his efforts and give them more than 1 1/2 years.I think now we were winners in '22. We've shaken 'em.

Dr. Waddy from Jack: "Fox fascists" eh! Breitbart can KMA! I'm sticking with Fox; they still consistently "say what I want to say". But yes, if Fox has lost alot of viewers that is a serious situation for the conservative movement .We need Carlson's example of freely expressed insolent disdain for a left which has presumed its own irrefutable, comprehensive justice withal and considers any opposition to be radical evil.
ReplyDeleteLet Fox welcome him back.
Dr.Waddy from Jack: We are seeing an ever increasing presumption from some blue states that they are justified in ignoring or even interfering with the upholding of, federal and constitutional law they politically disdain. Eg: NY's refusal to cooperate with those who enforce Immigration Law. Their governors should be criminally prosecuted as is appropriate for high or low who self righteously indulge in Obstruction of Justice. I think we can expect such states to be uncooperative in or very openly resistant to enforcing work requirements tor public assistance. These states should be fully apprised of the possibility of being taken in hand by federal force , judicial and/or military,as were several southern states since the 1950s. Latter day Yankees beware; what was appropriate for Sourtherners is as much for you today.
ReplyDeleteDr.Waddy from Jack: I make such a "draconian" suggestion on the guaranteed assumption that blue states, "affirmatively" led into "resistance" by heroic NY and CA, will persist in evermore of the disdain they enact for law and a Constitution they find so tiresomely , well, outdated and traditional. That's a sure bet. They must be confronted!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ray! Kylemore is a lovely place...on a lovely day, but most of Ireland must be pretty miserable most of the year. Of course, I live in WNY, so what do I know???
ReplyDeleteTrue, Jack. Elections have consequences, and our capture of the House in '22 is proving to be no exception. We've put a brake on the worst excesses of leftism. Thank heavens for that!
Jack, Fox will NEVER welcome Tucker back. Faint hope of that. I'm curious: as a Fox loyalist, why do YOU think Fox "fired" Tucker?
Jack, there are provisions in federal immigration law that could be used to prosecute virtually any apologist for illegal migration. Did Bill Barr's DOJ act on this? Of course not. We could really use a test case that comes before SCOTUS, but first I fear we'll need to recapture the executive branch.
Dr.Waddy from Jack: I think Fox lost its nerve in Tucker's case. They were shaken by the judgement and the ever increasing use of politics by prosecution. Maybe he sassed the wrong person at Fox. But I can tune in to Fox just about any time and hear my views supported.Your prediction of Tucker not returning is highly probable; would it were not so.
ReplyDeleteHmm. I know Fox is walking a tightrope, but do they really expect that the attacks against them will cease, because they cut Tucker loose? I find it hard to believe they could be that naive...
