Welcome Home!

Friends, NASA's Artemis II mission is now over, and it was a complete success, which is welcome news for the space agency and the nation!  Oh, and homo sapiens in general.  President Trump has framed this as a triumph for the good ole USA, which naturally it is, but, more importantly, it's going to propel all of humanity back to the Moon, and onward to the whole galaxy, after an unforgivably long pause that's lasted my entire lifetime.  Better late than never, I say!

In other news, Vice-President Vance will be leading the U.S. negotiating team in Islamabad, which will try to reach an understanding with the Islamist regime in Iran.  It ain't gonna be easy!  Many points of disagreement still exist.  Whatever peace we cobble together, friends, it will be a very poor substitute for regime change, which is still my long-term goal for the Persian people.

Finally, who cares about world peace, or the lack thereof, when our nation's capital grows more opulent and glamorous by the day?  Not only will we soon have a fancy new ballroom next to the White House, but plans are afoot to add a triumphal arch that will make Paris's Arc de Triomphe look like a sad pile of rocks!

  1. Dr. Waddy from Jack:I was a little nervous about the whole voyage. They didn't do a manned test in earth orbit as they did before the much corrected Apollo Command Module went to the moon without the LEM (the lunar lander). It had had to be rebuilt to correct the grievous faults which caused the fatal fire. But oh gee, it looks like they all knew what they were doing on this latest venture . Those dutiful and tireless guidance folks we saw portrayed in the film Apollo 13 are BACK! (Well, in a sense they never really left, though its their grandkids now. All those near Earth missions generated incalculably valuable experience and insight). My Uncle helped supervise the people downrange from the Cape. And they in my opinion are almost otherwise unappreciated true heroes . It must be self abnegating to live austerely in "margaritaland" and larger than life Houston.

I don't really care if China lands before us this time. We already beat them to the moon by half a century! No need to hurry now; we don't have a lander finished yet. Lets take all the time we need to do it right. Maybe all the scurrying that was done to "get to the moon before this decade is out", as JFK would have wanted , had something to do with the fire. But the Apollo LEM worked famously; it saved the lives of Apollo 13 and it delivered all the lunar surface explorers back to the Command Module. It was finished after the Command Module which went alone in Apollo 8 around the moon. Then it was tested both in earth orbit and in moon orbit when it came within 40,000 feet of the surface and then returned , in Apollo 10. Eugene Cernan was in Apollo 10 and returned and landed in Apollo 17. Lets take as much care now. We are pioneering a potentially endless advance in to the trackless heavens. We need worry about China, Russia, the European Space Agency, Japan, the UAE or India on the moon no more than we have needed to be wary of them in Antarctica. I mean the moon would be a disadvantageous place from which to launch a surprise attack, Yes (?) And weapons are a cumbersome cargo; war on the moon seems a grotesque notion for our time, I think. We never fought (we did surveil) the Rus in or from earth orbit (but man, after Sputnik we did fear it!)

  2. Dr. Waddy from Jack : Oh but the new ballroom has excited the disapprobation of yet another subordinate Federal judge. The fact that it is privately financed (as was, for example ,the preservation of Old Ironsides)is of no moment to the reflexively obstructionist far leftists who purpose the "death of 1000 cuts" for this and anything advanced by this unapologetically heretic President . THEY do not approve! Therefore , the reason for the pause in construction , whatever it is , floats their unrelentingly opposite runaway barge.

Oh my, one could venture to imagine what memorials the "American" far left would erect with the slave labor it would characteristically "employ." Che and Fidel would predominate in scraggly hirsute office over a pantheon of America haters, murderous and viciously disloyal "Americans " and celebrated Marxist redeemers such as Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, the Vietnam War ironic "peaceniks" , Jane Fonda , the military "loathing" Clintons and our current pretenders to salvation of our erring country, the DSA crowd. And perish even the thought of atavistic marble edifices; their ubiquitous likenesses would take the form of electronic imagery manifesting ever increasing interactive actuality. One could argue that technology of the times made 20th century tyranny unimaginably invasive. That ain't nuthin next to the power perverted A.I. would afford the far left contagion as it seeks to deify itself.
