Friends, President Trump has been prevailed upon to delete his reposting of this image of himself as, some say, a "Jesus-like figure". Is all the outrage justified? I leave it to you to decide. The bigger question is: does DJT have magical healing powers, which may or may not be angelic or demonic? The verdict is out...
In other news, Eric Swalwell, who just days ago was a darling of the Left and perhaps the odds-on favorite to be the next Governor of California, is today a private citizen, after he resigned his seat in Congress. And, as he points out, all that was accomplished by mere accusations, and certainly not with actual criminal charges, let alone convictions. Welcome to the Democratic Party, Eric!

In case you haven't heard, conservative hero Viktor Orban has been defeated in his reelection bid in Hungary. He served as the country's Prime Minister for 16 years, and he received fulsome praise and meaningful support from DJT and Vice-President Vance. Well, his ouster is a pity, ideologically speaking, but 16 years is a good run, and even a spotless right-wing pedigree doesn't mean that Orban was a perfect leader. Clearly, his party succumbed to complacency and corruption, to a degree. Farewell, Viktor! Welcome to the party, Peter (Magyar)!
Lastly, our blockade against the maritime commerce of Iran is now in effect, and presumably the Iranian economy, which was already teetering, will crater in short order. Will the mullahs care? There's no guarantee of that, but their customers surely will, notably China and India. The other big question, while we close the Strait to Iran, is whether we will be successful in opening it for everyone else. If we do succeed in that, it would appear that Iran has no more cards to play, except suicidal obstinacy, which is always an option!

Dr. Waddy from Jack: Aaaa, there are a lot of ways to look at this illustration and the President's expression of criticism for the Pope.
ReplyDeleteI love the way DJT jerks the chains of these oooo so sensitive far leftists and through them, their subjugated worker ants. Its his NYC moxie at work and a "party "which still obsequiously honors a rollicking county fair conman who once degraded our White House beyond measure , who doubtless got bellyfulls of laughs at the expense of his chump "subjects" ,has no moral authority to fault DJT for this. "What goes around comes around and the payback is a bitch." One better be paying principled attention to common sense precepts and principles before one denies a MAN who has survived the amoral travails which have been DJT's lot at the hands of these unrelenting cavillers and " 'legal'cavaliers " (not the conservative cavaliers of 17th century Britain) when he's having some fun at their expense. Well, they asked for it though they just didn't believe him to be the happy warrior hombre he is, one who is their equal in the blood sport of politics. You radicals want to "play" with the real hard asses? Don't be surprised when one of them takes you up on it! DJT is one who can laugh at himself and these grim far left puritans can't abide the fun he is having at their expense.
Also he knows that the MSM flies to such trivia as do hyenas to redolent carcasses. And if they are expending some of their bile on this, they have less to use to give aid and comfort to our country's long since demonstrated Iranian enemies.
Too, the Pope does have very much secular power so our President is within the bounds of the spiritual reverence rightfully given to this exemplary man to criticize that man's worldly positions. Probably the greatest of all modern Popes, Saint John Paul, used his spiritual authority and blessed example to dutifully oppose arguably the most oppressive doctrine in world history and that surely is to his limitless credit, both here and above. But the destruction of world communism could not (as he knew)have happened without the earthly superiority of American and allied military force and the unrelenting economic power of political freedom. Pope Leo strikes me as a modest and graceful man and if he wishes to express regret at the still dominating truth that power sometimes still accrues to the wicked and can be defeated only with superior power, then he is honorably motivated and may be divinely inspired. Someday such moral example may, with the cooperation of an even more civilized world, redound to a final, almost all encompassing renunciation of war but we are not at that point yet. Far too many "peace and 'anti war' " advocates now either ignore or cynically misrepresent their cause by seeking to disarm and gainsay the , on balance, just powers, like the U.S. The 20th century condemned and some still inhuman , proven monsters ,the Nazis, the Marxists and the Jew haters , eat that for breakfast! Their evil may be honestly incomprehensible to those, even those with painfully good will, who preach peace , with no experience of that hellishness and what it has taken even so far, to defeat it.
Dr. Waddy from Jack: We have two world wars' worth of convoy experience . I would guess that when our Admirals were at Annapolis they were extensively schooled and prepared to keep the N. Atlantic open against Soviet attack. Keeping the Strait of Hormuz open is not a direct analogy but there are some relevant factors. Eg. we learned how vital air support was; we didn't have it all the way across until about 1943 in the N. Atlantic. We might even take some grim lessons from the 1916 Gallipoli campaign to force the Dardenelles.
ReplyDeleteDr. Waddy from Jack: I would guess the Iranian people just want to get on with their lives and are not very concerned about the "heretical" resistance their clergy gets from so many irksome sources in its holy war against 21st century civilization. They would probably be content with a summation which simply grants them peace.
ReplyDeleteNot so their spiritual saviors. If Iran's regime has been busy enriching that nasty uranium, with the cooperation of still faithful devotees , to weapons grade in this catastrophic interlude since an infidel U.S. President actually decided to put some real wind behind the evanescent protests of his predecessors , it could come down to an order
by one 7th century reenactor theocrat to one pilot who fears for his soul!
Fanatic Japan shot the naval bolt when they sent the world's largest battleship , the Yamato , on a one way suicide mission to besieged Okinawa. A knowingly futile nuclear strike on ? by discredited desperados would be of a kind with the purely malevolent death throes of Japan and Germany. The mullahs, if their rule retains any purchase , might simply be, in their way, punching their tickets for paradise.
Dr. Waddy from Jack: Maybe Magyar had the insuperable advantage of a historical and nationally revered name.
ReplyDeleteDr. Waddy from Jack: Oh my, now MSNBC is typically reflexively flailing about trying to take President Trump to task for presumptuous contempt for Christianity and the Pope. Secretary Hegseth's remarks comparing them to the Pharisees manifests irony which is probably lost on these worker ants.
ReplyDeleteThey , who earnestly and violently trumpet the "justice" of killing unborn babies for convenience sake( and no, far leftist enthusiasts , I am not advocating condemnation of ALL tragically necessary ending of pregnancies, so step off!) now rush to the support of the head of their greatest opponent in this civilizationally defining conflict. That speaks for itself I think.
Jack, I think DJT is entirely in the right in his criticisms of Pope Leo, but I also think that he would have been better off saying nothing. This Pope hasn't been particularly political, and it would be as well to keep it that way by ignoring his occasional (and futile) outbursts.
ReplyDeleteUsing force to open the Strait would be militarily simple, but politically complex. Basically, you have to convince the shipping companies, the Chinese, the Indians, and the Euro-weenies to "man up". How does one accomplish that miracle? Darned if I know!
Well, as you point out, Jack, the mullahs arguably become even more dangerous when they believe that their regime is finished and their earthly lives are nearing termination. Then they have no reason to hold back. In that sense, it may be just as well that the regime isn't crumbling, because it means that, in the end, they will probably have no choice but to negotiate. It will be the only way to preserve the privileges they've amassed.
Jack, you can bet that most media talking heads have NOTHING nice to say about the Pope, except when he's perceived to be trashing Trump (and even then their good will is slight and grudging).
Dr. Waddy from Jack: And now the far left arbiters of our country's adherence to their politically correct mandates are , as per their daily fashion, OFFENDED, by the planned memorial arch celebrating the nation's 250 year anniversary. "Why, Trump means it as a Romanesque triumphal arch for himself".
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone remember which President had the Washington Monument built? If it had been proposed today it would have excited the wrath of far left inquisitors for its obvious assertion of male superiority and its atavistic ancient Egyptian design. And no doubt if the radicals ever achieve a governmental perfection of complete elite power and justice they would ceremonially immolate that and the Lincoln and Jefferson edifices too. Yeah but who was that President anyway? He didn't get much veneration did he?
Kinda makes sense when you think about it. I mean, from the lefties' perspective, why celebrate America in the first place???
