Payback

Friends, New York State Attorney General Letitia James has been indicted for bank fraud related to her purchase of an investment property in Virginia.  Is this weaponization of the justice system to attack an enemy of El Presidente Trump?  Well, maybe, but the proof, as always, is in the pudding, and the "weaponization" part will fall pretty flat unless the DOJ can get a conviction.  I wish them well!

In other news, the latest poll of the NYC mayor's race shows Zohran Mamdani with a comfortable lead...or is it so comfortable?  They have "ranked choice voting" in the Big Apple, which means that, if all Sliwa's supporters choose Andrew Cuomo as their second choice, he could actually win the race.  How likely is this?  I'm not sure, but I wouldn't count out the irrepressible Andy just yet.

  1. Dr. Waddy from Jack: How immeasurably grotesque our politics are in the People's Republic of NY. For NYC we are actually constrained to hope for a Mayoral victory by Cuomo . . . ANDREW CUOMO, the disgraced former Governor and a proven imperious, histrionic and egotistical lowlife! But, his opponent, openly commie Mamdani (if you think that's an exaggeration , go on line and check out the mission statement of the "Democratic" Socialists of America, of which he is kin. It could have been written by Lenin). It appears that Curtis Sliwa , who could in office be a reprise of a Mayor Guiliani who saved NYC from shamefully tolerated criminal depredation by unapologetically mustering disdained common sense (eg. criminal bad, law abiding citizen good): that this good man has little chance of election. So, in contradiction of all standards of decency, Cuomo himself is the default choice. Unfortunately for common sense upstate NY , the NY Mayoral election will , if it goes as it appears, have regrettable consequences for us. The amoeba on the Hudson ranges far.

Now, on top of all this "All Hallows Eve" insanity we now have a deservedly indicted State Attorney General. Mind you, this is the Governor's top law enforcement officer! Of course it took a Virginia based Federal grand jury to level it and that's not saying much. And our far left shill Governor has erupted in "righteous" indignation at this "weaponization" of our Federal government's law enforcement arms.

Were it not for the necessity of always publicly denouncing the far left's cynicism in its Clintonesque preemption of positions it previously disdained, it would be a waste of time to note the following: having been lawfully charged for a crime ,our NY state AG broadcasts a lugubrious statement of innocence and outrage at being burdened with politically motivated legal hazard. Of course it is exactly what she visited upon our now great President in his interim ordeal; she even openly declared that if elected AG she WOULD do just that, she would "get" DJT by golly. And oh yes, she then pleads
for financial support , which any credible fool would assume would go only for legal defense and not the personal aggrandizement strongly suggested by the substance of her indicted behavior.

And oh yes America, our benighted state has also foisted Charles Schumer , Squad leader AOC and House Speaker hopeful (he would be two steps from the Presidency)Hakeem Jeffries( a reflexive now old line Dem far left apologist). Believe me, the common sense minority in NY state would have sent these paragons packing but we usually cannot outvote the teeming hive on the Hudson. We'll keep trying , so that we can rejoin America instead of being a pitiful outlier.

  2. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Even if Ag James defeats these charges she will still be subjected to the anxiety which must disturb the peace of mind of anyone so charged. "What if I am convicted!?" Its very safe to say that DJT, a human being after all, experienced such worry. And "AG" James was photographed expressing deep satisfaction at closely monitoring his court room ordeal. There is some justice in her being so subjected. Her unprincipled executive action was yet another affirmation of the "American" far left's fanatic determination to use "any means necessary" to force unchallenged totalitarian rule over an America it hates.

  3. Dr. Waddy from Jack: According to the polls in the article you cited, it may appear that if most of Adams' and Sliwa's support were, of grim necessity, to shift to Cuomo, Cuomo would have a chance. After all, FDR, nobody's fool (he did realize in time what a threat to America Henry Wallace was) allied us with arguably history's worst monster, Stalin, in order to destroy the appalling immediate danger Hitler and the Nazis posed. Cuomo is "merely"a far leftist for the working day instead of the fanatic mien promised by Mamdani. Besides, an elected Cuomo would be busy pursuing attractive subordinates. He would interpret his election as "the return of Prince Cuomo " rather than the desperate measure it would be. And so he would think himself freed to exercise all of the "liberties" he indulged in during his reign over "the Empire State". So he might well again "overreach" and finally free us of his onerous presence in our Byzantine yet one party state. Of course then, I think the City Council President becomes Mayor and it is probably a lala land dem too.

If NY state had a Gov. with backbone we in common sense upstate might enjoy some insulation from spacy NYC's vagaries but Gov. Hochul is a vassal of far leftists. We might have a chance of retiring her next year. Forgive us America , for the wretched and contagious "state" of our politics in NY state but do beware of our onerous influence. It might be best to do for now as the oyster does: form an impenetrable barrier around an unbearable yet unexpellable pathological entity . Unless a Mamdani - NY state gov't axis takes us to near totalitarian extremities requiring direct Federal administration and a "deMarxist "occupation , we of common sense in NY state will continue to reunite with America. Might take a "West NY" to do it!

  4. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Good for our President in ordering that the troops be paid. Had he not done so the troops might have blamed the President for their undeserved financial hardship. Anyone who has faced an impending shutoff of the income upon which they so depend knows the terrible anxiety it imposes. Now they know the Dems were willing to impose it and President Trump was the one who prevented it. I suppose its unlikely that many of the troops would vote for a Dem party dominated by far leftists who "loathe" them. I think it just got "unliklier."

  5. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Today's RealClearPolitics includes an article which asserts that Cuomo is taking a "delicate"stance on stooping to court . . . yeeech!. . . the GOP votes he needs to beat Mamdani. It maintains he is waiting for the GOP to do it on his own.

And some GOP leaders like former Senator Al D'Amato are coming through, urging common sense voters to hold their nose and vote for Cuomo if only to stop commie Mamdani.

But then, Prince Cuomo himself has graciously granted audience to Fox News and its viewers who he has heretofore shunned for their "primitive "views. And lets remember , the NY state gun owners he sneered at as "just a vocal minnahritty" as he burdened their 2nd Amendment Rights with endless "so sue us" byzantine, prolonged administrative requirements; most of them cannot vote in this election.

Cuomo is an avocational far leftist who, in office, would surely revert to form EXCEPT . . . if he wins in NYC, he'll go for the nomination in '28 . He can't out far left such as AOC ; his beatable opposition would come from such "non fanatic" nonetheless incipient far leftists as Pritzker and Newsom and true moderates like Shapiro and perhaps Whitmer. But none of them could brag"I met the commie threat in our party and I beat it. They would lead our party over the brink and I will not allow it! Only I can reestablish our party as America's party!" And his NYC administration would manifest a TEMPORARY crackdown on crime designed to disingenuously boost his image as a "gentle convertite" who has seen the error of criminal loving ways.

Much, not all, of NYC , (remember Guiliani), is a whirlpool of counterintuitive nationally dead ended fantasies.Looks like it will get either a commie or Cuomo as Mayor. What an onerous choice and it tellingly shows NYC up for a bizarre outlier, best isolated from national influence and left to fester on its own until it wearies of itself. I wish the common sense people there would rally and save their city but unless they make an unlikely stand for Sliwa, they will be treated by either winner as "just a vocal minnahritty". And NYC's descent into insanity will continue.

  6. Jack, you make a pretty convincing case for New York's expulsion from the Union! I would be all for it...if I didn't live here.

Jack, if anything could bring on the dismemberment of NYS, and the creation of "West New York", it would be the victory of Zohran Mamdani in the NYC mayor's race. So...hedge your bets, because the worst possible outcome could be the best possible outcome.

Jack, that we are within a hair's breadth of a Cuomo comeback is downright surreal. Unlike you, though, I have no, or very little, fear that Prince Andrew will become King Andrew (presidentially speaking, I mean). If Mamdani wins, it will be because Cuomo is so flawed. If Cuomo wins, it will be despite his still massive flaws.

  7. Dr. Waddy from Jack: I only think Cuomo will try for the nomination if he is elected Mayor. He might even try it if he isn't elected:"Why look what the radical left has done to our party! I stood up to it and I still do! You can see now what Mamdani bodes for our party as he bolshevizes NYC!)(Exclamation marks are required when Cuomo speaks). I'd like to see him try to campaign anywhere between Binghamton and Bakersfield in the national election; he would not be able to "relate" to common sense America. And it would be fun to watch JD or Pam Bondi play on his emotional strings.

  8. You have to admire Cuomo's moxie in defying the verdict of the Me Too crowd... Of course, he's in the wrong party if he wanted to pull it off.

I am genuinely perplexed as to the likely outcome of the mayor's race. Only time will tell.
