Die, Die, Die!!!

Friends, something mighty interesting is happening in the Commonwealth of Virginia, where this year they're holding elections for Governor, Attorney General, and various other offices.  The Dems' candidate for Attorney General, Jay Jones, has been exposed as a raving progressive, by which I mean that he has openly wished death not only on Republican politicians, but their children as well.  In other words, he's a mainstream, run-of-the-mill leftist, who has had the misfortune of being exposed as such.  Am I being unfair?  Are there some Democrats and progressives out there who don't openly and candidly fantasize about the deaths of Republicans and conservatives, and especially Donald Trump?  Well, maybe there are, and if so I would enjoy meeting them!  Having said all this, Jay Jones hasn't left the race because of his deplorable comments, and many Democrats haven't yet called on him to do so.  The fact is that Virginia is so blue, and hatred of Trump runs so hot, that Jones might still win regardless.

In other news, the Supreme Court is about to get back to work, and it will be considering numerous cases with a bearing on President Trump's powers (or lack thereof).  Thus far, I have been very impressed by the Supremes' courage in standing with a very unpopular president -- at least he's frightfully unpopular inside the Beltway.  Will they continue to back him up?  We shall soon find out.

  1. RAY TO DR. WADDY

I'm way behind times on what's going on in Virginia, way behind. I thought they had elected a conservative governor a while back, so I'm a bit surprised by this Jones scandal. Get me up to date, please. Thanks.

  2. Dr. Waddy from Jack: It is a very plausible maxim that "absolute power corrupts absolutely".

Such corruption can include the renunciation of those principles which enjoin us not to kill or cause suffering. Historically the far left has, when it has achieved the absolute power it always seeks (because otherwise it cannot enact its radical intent), amply demonstrated its enthusiastic and unapologetic willingness to do mass murder and impose almost universal suffering presumptuously justified as necessary for the establishment of comprehensive "social justice".

On the American left , how powerful is such conviction? In the "American" far left such is the demonstrated vicious hate defined antipathy toward any who disagree with its beliefs that it would be folly not to presume that with the consummate power they seek they would become Mao, Pol Pot , Stalin (all of whom earlier in their lives appeared to be members of the human race). And one need not even kill in order to ruin; look what the "American" far left and its obsequious apologists tried to do to DJT and DID do to some of his staff! The FBI is reputed to have recorded conversation in a meeting of leading '60s radicals in which the execution of 20 million patriots and the establishment of "reeducation"camps in the southwest were solemnly considered. Can there be any doubt that Antifa and its clones and its enablers are akin in intent to such as the Nazi SA Brown shirts?

But in the American left also are those of good will who believe some or all of the following: that abortion, criminal rights, pacifism , preferences in many settings for members of groups historically wronged, (even it means wronging people who had nothing to do with such oppression), completely government controlled health care, open borders, " necessary "exposure of children to premature instruction in both sexual techniques and "approved " attitudes including rejection of parental guidance, human caused "global warming" and draconian measures to control it; unwillingness to exert American military strength; etc., are just. They see the GOP's now very much accelerated resistance to these positions, motivated by common sense perception of the deleterious effects therein, as both mistaken and by definition reprehensible.

The Dem party is their vehicle for the exercise of real power in national politics. But this once loyal party is almost certainly now dominated by sympathy for or subjection to the "American" far left which has openly expressed and every day more obviously demonstrated its fanatic devotion to "fundamental transformation" of our nation to their ideals of irrefutable and unchallengeable rule by an omniscient elite with unquestioned authority to apply its incidental and arbitrary policy to any political, social, legal or economic issue with force if necessary, all the way to the neighborhood level. Remember how in Russia in 1917, the reform minded Mensheviks were brutally swept aside by the murderously amoral Bolsheviks or how JFK's "new Frontier" so swiftly descended into" New Left" madness.

So yes, I think there is a significant faction in our country which celebrates ANY misfortune which they can work or which befalls an ever more stubbornly resistant America now more certain than ever that its has been right all along to put its faith in proven American verities. They are stung to the quick by this present "mindless insolence "on the part of an America ungrateful for their "enlightenment". That their antipathy has sunk into lethality, both in intent , in exhortation and in action should be no surprise to us.

  3. Dr. Waddy from Jack: So someone in the Chicago police dep't chain of command ordered Chicago police to refrain from aiding ICE agents who were surrounded by an "unfriendly" mob. This is a gross transgression for which the responsible person is going be in very hot legal water, according to a Deputy U.S. Attorney General interviewed today on Fox. I'm confident that the Chicago Police rank and file consider such a counterintuitive order to be reprehensible and were loath to fall back from the customary support given to beleaguered fellows in law enforcement.

Could well be that the far left is hoping for another Kent State incident. Pictures of that show a crowd with contempt and hatred contorting their faces advancing on the National Guardsmen. What were the Guardsmen to do; take one for the team? A similar or even more lethal event could be just the thing to set off a repeat of the nationwide chaos which followed Kent State and a "by any means necessary" "American" radical command center is fully amoral enough to try it.

Castigation of ICE and of now necessary National Guard deployment to anarchic Chicago as expressed by the Illinois Governor and Chicago Mayor might well have caused someone further down in the police chain of command to presume it the intent of these reckless higher ups that such a shameful retreat be ordered. Whoever did it, including those two lawless executives, should be taken in hand by the Feds immediately. It would have happened to Gov. Wallace of Alabama had he not relented and so it should be with them.

  4. Dr. Waddy from Jack: The BBC articles refers to what it terms increasing and concerning use of the "Shadow Docket " by the present Scotus. I understand the term Shadow Docket to mean summary judgements in cases which are considered by Scotus to be emergencies. Since they are summary the article notes that they may be lacking in procedural and or substantive merit.

President Trump is an extraordinarily dynamic executive who is determined to use his power unapologetically to alleviate injustices and dysfunction which work to the detriment of America. Naturally he confronts reflexive opposition from the element in our polity which intends the ultimate detriment - "fundamental transformation" of an unwilling America into a marxist hell hole - the "American "far left. Much of what our President intends, notably the enforcement of our existing Federal immigration laws ,is resisted by that far left amoral, sometimes physically violent measures incorporating their maxim of "by any means necessary". When ICE officers are confronted by well organized and funded violent far leftists in doing their duties (or when municipal police are ordered not to do their duties against rampaging criminals by criminal apologizing superiors) our indefatigable President sends in the reinforcements, the National Guard and if necessary, the regulars. Naturally too, the far left plays "mommy, daddy" with a subordinate Federal Judiciary in which it still retains some obstructive power.

What is our President to do? Must he refrain from expeditious reaction to direct violent resistance to his deputies in places like utterly misled Chicago and shamefully Marxist captured Portland? No! And so it goes to a demonstrated lawful Scotus which does, with credit, afford the matter summary judgement for reasons obvious to all but left wing dreamers.

For prospective, let us imagine how a Hillary appointed Scotus would have ruled in partisan reaction to a Trump administration. It would have been dominated by "Justices" indoctrinated in the "Critical Legal Studies" school which has been corrupting many of our law schools for so long now that their grads have ascended to legal heights. Their "fundamental" belief is that Judges should rule based only on their "feelings" , based solely on modern fashion and should disregard our painfully and scrupulously developed legality and the cumulative wisdom and precedent it so respects. They would of course make free partisan use of "shadow docket" to routinely block the executive actions of a President Trump or anyone else of his perceived "insolence" and "authoritarianism".
In the hands of our present Scotus, which has demonstrated its respect for the rule of law, the "shadow docket " is a lawful process. And for a lawful process to endorse the Executive Branch enforcement of properly and democratically promulgated LAW, such as Immigration Law, is dutiful .

  5. Ray, they (Virginians) did indeed elect Governor Youngkin, but alas that was four years ago! Time flies. He can't run for reelection, so now it's back to the drawing board and, since Republicans rule the roost nationally, and Virginia is a blue state anyway, the Dems have a natural advantage.

Jack, it's a long way from wishing for the demise of one's enemies to actually effectuating it. Personally, I find anyone who sits around daydreaming about the suffering or death of his adversaries to be reprehensible, and sadly a whole lot of lefties fit the bill, some of them near and dear to me.

Is the Left hoping that the deployment of National Guard forces to America's cities leads to riots, and maybe to massacres? Well, if so, they should be careful what they wish for, because disorder almost always begets MORE authority for the central government, not less. It seems to me that the lefties have been pretty restrained in D.C., which suggests to me that they know that chaos in the streets won't be a boon to them politically.

Agreed, Jack -- there has to be a "shadow docket", since the only alternative is a regular docket so capacious than nine black-robed busybodies could never encompass it.
